Dollbaby - The Getaway

Ruffles, lace and velvet - oh my! Florals and knits, leather and charms - this past Wheels and Dollbaby season has left my jaw on the floor as I've been lusting after each and every stunning piece. From core piece redesigned to amazing winter fabrics and print you are seriously spoilt for choice.

So with my bags packed full of Dollbaby goodies I headed to the hills to capture these amazing winter warming styles in the perfect setting with the amazing Jaimie Nicole.

For this review I'm wearing a selection of both size 14 and 16 and I'll be detailing the fit of all garments.

BABY GIRL SKIRT - $125.00

I have been lusting after the Decoratifs top for so very long as it's sexy, sleek and lets face it who doesn't like to be wrapped up in velvet? But my giant chest can cause issueswith most tops these days and then I had a light bulb moment! I have the most stunning and sexy collection of Ewa Michalak bras in my collection so I pair this amazing top with a stunning little lace number and I'm loving the result. It's almost like these two pieces were destined to be together.

I'm wearing both the top and skirt in a size 16 and the fit is perfect! The stretch velvet molds to my curves and is think enough to hold you in tightly slimming down your waistline and in my case pushing that cleavage up even more so. Those delicate riffled and attention to detail on the bust is what makes this top pure magic.

I'm also wearing the Baby Girl skirt in a size 16 and the fit is super firm as the waistband has limited stretch. This is a structured waistline so if you own the super stretchy wiggle skirts be sure to keep that fit advice in mind.

While I accessorised with my bra in this look to add that little touch of lace I also wanted to add a few more pieces to really make this look pop. So I've paired this with a red beret and my favourite red and white dot gloves and the results speak for themselves.

BABY GIRL SKIRT - $125.00

On of my all time favourite sweaters is back with a little embroidered twist. This Dollbaby cropped sweater is one of those timeless and effortless pieces that every girl needs in her collection. While I've modeled the classic and leopard versions of this I have to say that the next Charm Emblem version is my current favourite.

With the high neckline, 3/4 sleeves and that bold white logo this piece will never date and always gives you that polished and classic pinup look.

I'm wearing this sweater in a size 16 and just adore it in this size. I don't even tuck into skirts with this little jumper as I love how the waist band sits and accentuates my waistline. I need this in every colour and print for the rest of my life as it's so easy to wear and style.

Black floral prints - oh how you have my heart! I loved the Chinoiserie print when it was released but all the dress styles did not scream "Teer Style" so I decided to try the printed cardigan instead. This super soft and stretchy cardigan is pure bliss to wear and the knit is so silky on your skin.
The black based floral print makes a goth at heart like myself swoon and I really love each and every bird and flower featured on this classic print. Again I wanted to show a little black lace and I love how so many of the Wheels and Dollbaby pieces work with a hint of lingerie.

I'm wearing the size 16 and the fit is great but be careful if you stretch the fabric a little too much or the white base can pop through. I found this occurred once around the largest part of my bust but I rarely wear cardigans buttoned up these days so that issue would not be a problem in the future.

Just like all of the Dollbaby classic knitwear this item is stretchy but it also holds it shape after each wear which is something that I really need in all of my cardigans.

There are two styles always in stock at Wheels and Dollbaby that I both trust and love the fit of - Leather Jackets and all things Cake Ruffle. I've worn lots of different items from each and every release over the years but the fit of these two items is always 100% on point.

The Cake Ruffle tank top in bright ruby red is a colour way I have been dreaming about for years and now that the tank top and tank dress are here I can add them to my collection. I'm wearing this style in a size 14 as I've found the 16's in tops can be a little too big on my waist. The stretchy soft cotton molds to my bust and really pops perfectly on my pale skin. What I love most about this tank has to be the charm and black velvet bow.

Now I'm going to cross all of my fingers and toes and hope that this specific colour way is released in the dress that I inspired - the swing version of the standard cupcake dress or even a dark print!!!

For the leather jacket I went for a size 16 and it fits like a second skin. This buttery amazingly soft leather is the bees knees and the fit is honestly amazing. It's firm, thick and so very soft and molds to you which a faux leather moto never does. Fully linned and features all the hardware you'll ever need on a moto jacket. There is also a huge logo embossed across the back of the jacket but silly me I forgot to shoot it!! It's those little touches that make this jacket so special and worth the investment as this will never date and it will last you a lifetime. Now I just need to save up for this style and for the red leather as that is my unicorn of biker jackets.

And now for something a little more laid back and oh so comfy. This is my 5th Oversized sweater from Wheels, and the reason I keep coming back to this style with every print and reissue has to be the choice of fabrics and the casual chic look and fit.
But this season the knit and fabric is different so this version fits even better. It's a lighter knit but don't let that fool you it's still as cozy and warm as ever. I'm wearing the 14 and it's not too bulky or over sized. I tend to always size down in these sweaters as I like the fit to be tighter. I could have rocked the 12 as well but I'm happy with the perfect fit of the 14.

In my collection I have the pony club, skull and logo sweaters but this by far is my favourite due to the fabric choice and the mixture of black and red text.

Many thanks to the brilliant Jaimie Nicole for capturing all of these looks perfectly. My first ever review for Wheels and Dollbaby was shot by her and it's amazing to team up again.

SGT. DOLLBABY

At the end of February, I shared my stand out favourites from the La Belle Heroine range and then quickly followed this with a full review of more items from that range, but there was one stand out item that was not in my hands in time for that review, and I waited ever so impatiently for it to arrive - The Sgt. Dollbaby Cardigan!

When I was told about the new range the phrase that stuck out most is that it would be 'full of Teer-style items' and when I got the previews I was blown away with all of the military style, figure hugging items.

The one item that blew me away was this stunning military inspired cardigan with all the trimmings. Made from super stretchy black knit adorned with gold buttons, embroided stars and gold piping this cardigan is the perfect mix of strong military styling with feminine figure hugging shapes. One of my favourite features has to be the stand up collar which is unique to the W&DB range of knitwear.

Now if you follow all of my Wheels & Dollbaby reviews you will know that I can wear anything from a size 10 to a 16. But for this item I went for a 16 so that there would be no pull on the buttons and extra room for my large bust. It's a perfect fit all over yet a little roomy on the lower half of the 3/4 length sleeve which I assume is due to the piping feature.

The Sgt. Dollbaby cardi has now become a wardrobe staple for me as the weather gets chilly and looks amazing with everything from wiggle skirts to full swing styles and pairs wonderfully with high waisted black skinny jeans. My only accessory on this shoot was a simple black beret but I'm dying to get my hands on some vintage military caps to pair with this look. So if you are sitting on the fence with this new style cardigan I urge you to get this ASAP! I could have sized down if I wanted to wear this open as it's super stretchy and there are still 14's in stock via the online store.

Leopard Day Dress  - $310.00

While shooting this amazing cardigan, I had to sneak in my new favourite dress for Autumn/Winter which is the Leopard Day Dress. I was searching high and low for a super cute dress to wear to my Hucks (hens/bucks) day/evening and this little leopard number ticked all the boxes.

Made from a plush stretch leopard jersey that fits like a second skin, the day dress is a almost like the Dita Cardigan in dress form. With the iconic peter pan collar and velvet bow tie combination this style falter both small and large sized bust. I'm wearing this dress in a size 14 and I was blow away by the fit! For this photo shoot I chose to show a little cleavage but this dress also buttons up with no issues over my GG chest which is usually unheard of. So if you have a large bust there are so many options to choose from at Wheels & Dollbaby. My favourite way of styling this dress is to pair it with stunning black stockings, berets and leather driving gloves and it works both day and night.

Many thanks to the always brilliant and super fun to work with Rom Anthonis for collaborating with me for this shoot and I can't wait to work with you again!

The Mantrap

A little while ago, an amazing surprise arrived at my door, wrapped in printed pink tissue paper and tied with a bow. It's safe to say I was blown away by what was hidden inside.

Once I dreamed of the silky wiggle dresses from Wheels & Dollbaby but never thought I'd be able to fit into them, let alone look good in one. Well I'm proud to say I've ticked both boxes and it feels AMAZING! This dress HAD to be captured on film by the one and only Brooke Orchard Photography . Brooke is the best pinup and retro inspired photographer that Australia has to offer and I feel absolutely honoured to have had the chance to work with her many times this past year. I adore her that much I've booked her for my wedding!

Introducing the Mantrap dress in glorious deluxe imported satin from the Star De Cinémar’ Collection! This wiggle dress is designed for curves and hugs every one of them. With a sweeping off the shoulder neckline, hourglass silhouette and amazing fabric details this dress will make you feel like a goddess of the silver screen.

The fabric is buttery smooth and an absolute dream to wear. I originally received a size 14 in this dress but exchanged it for a 16. The 14 was a great fit all over my body but the arms were a little restricting. So sizing up made more room to move and now my arms fit in perfectly. I've found that I fit anywhere from a 12 to a 16 in Wheels & Dollbaby depending on fabrics.

The mantrap dress is also equip with a powermesh and an inbuilt boned bodice which will give you that extra shape and lift. This alone is great but I felt I needed more lift and shape to show this dress off perfectly so I've paired it will the new Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless bra and my CS-426 Longline Underbust Corset from Orchard Corset. Combined these two brilliant undergarments gave me that extra vavavoom shape and great support.

Now I usually would not flash my draws for the general public but I have to show how these two brilliant undergarments paired with the dress create such a hot shape! I now wear this style corset on most of my shoots and the bra, well, I think it speaks for itself.

This strapless multiway bra (please note straps are included if you wish to use them) is amazing! The soft cups hold my GG bust perfectly and there is no fear of spillage, a boob popping out or a morphed odd shape. It's like wearing a normal bra with invisible straps. I'm wearing the Luxe in a size 34GG and the fit is spot on! For years we large busted ladies have needed a product like this and I'm sure I'll be fearing many more times as summer rolls in. P.s This also passes the jump text - that alone is reason to get this bra!

I paired this dress with and without accessories for this shoot. For all images I wore the most amazingly bright and sparkly Stardust Gold Digger Tear Earrings $22.00 from Kat Frankie's. The simple design and sparkling brilliance adds that extra element of glamour to the look. I also added a white gold and diamond necklace from my collection but you can easily wear any colour or style necklace with this dress!

Not a fan of a strapless dress? This also pairs wonderfully with the full range of cardigans and boleros available in the Knitwear section at Wheels & Dollbaby.

The Mantrap is also available in babycat print, peaches'n'cream and black although size availability may differ. I'm currently compiling a list of all items via the web store that come in both size 14 and 16 so you, my lovely readers, have a easy guide to fitting curves! This should be up shortly.

Blue Belle

I have an addiction and I'm proud of it. What is my addiction you ask? Well I'm 100% addicted to the Dita Von Teese Cardigan from Wheels & Dollbaby. This addiction started in 2011 and will last me for life.

Back in February 2011 I lusted after the Dita Cardigan but was not sure if my ample curves would both suit and fit into the cardigan. I modelled and did a full review on each aspect of this brilliant piece of knitwear and this went viral! Why? Because my curves suited this style perfectly!

So when the new season colours were announced I set up a photo shoot with the brilliant Shauna Phoon and escaped into the inner city park lands of Melbourne to shoot the stunning new shade - Blue Belle.

My new blue belle baby arrived encased in a collectible French Armoire illustrated box inspired by the glamorous world of Dita Von Teese.

I absolutely adore the little note from Melanie Greensmith attached to my beautifully wrapped parcel. I always find it hard to rip the custom Wheels & Dollbaby wrapping paper when it arrives.

Belt - NA

Now this time I chose to step outside my usual comfort zone and try new colour that I'd usually not purchase. My fiance gave me the pale pink and black version for Christmas so I choose the pastel blue option for this shoot.

I found it hard to choose a colour at first but the more I looked at the stunning powdered blue shade, with the cream embroidery the more I loved it. It pairs perfectly with my dark red locks and suits pale skin perfectly!

I am wearing this cardigan in my ideal size which is the 14. I own both 14's and 16's in Wheels & Dollbaby knitwear and I find the 14 fit to be perfect for my measurements. This cardigan has heaps of stretch to it and will fit a size or two up.

I paired this with my Essential Logo Pencil Skirt also from Wheels & Dollbaby. This skirt will last you a lifetime and will never stretch out of shape. If you want a pencil skirt to pair with everything this is the skirt for you. I wear this style in a size 4 which is a 14.

Now I chose to wear this style as shown via the website with lots of cleavage but I can easily button this cardigan up with no issues or button pops. I have a rather large chest so I have no issues in showing off a little skin with this garment.

I can't wait to wear this with pale blue and pink floral dresses and skirts and layer over the colder months. I'm very excited such an bold design in a new colour within my wardrobe. It gives me more options when it comes to styling and forces me to take more risks with colour.

You can find the Pink and Red versions via the online store and be sure to check out the new AW'14 Range Collection 'At Residence, at the Del Rio' which is live and available to purchase right now. I'm currently lusting after these four stunning garments :

Oh my Dita!

Today I had the awesome pleasure of meeting the super stunning Dita Von Teese at her Myer lingerie launch!

Dita is down under for two reasons: the launch of her new Myer lingerie range and the the Melbourne Cup where she was one of the faces of Myer, as well as the perfect celebrity judge for "Fashions on the Field" beside the amazing Coco Rocha. So with my Dita Cardigan on and my lips bright red, I headed into Bourke Street Mall and waited ever so patiently with a multitude of admirers.

Wheels & Dollbaby Dita Cardigan  (Sold out) - $190.00

It was an absolute pleasure to finally meet Dita in person! I was lucky enough to attend her runway show in March 2012 and missed her by moments after the event. Today's meeting made up for this and she is an absolute sweetie. Her amazing dress was completely unique and paired perfectly with her extra long lace gloves, fishnet & pom-pom pumps and her iconic hair and makeup.

I was all smiles today and both this and meeting some of my lovely Instagram followers absolutely made my day.

Plus I could not leave without an autograph for the collection and it's lovely to know that she remembered me and  how to spell my name without any prompting.

My stand out favourites from the new lingerie line available exclusively in Myer stores and online right now has to be the Sheer Witchery styles. These select styles are in sizes 10 to 14 and cups from B to DD or E. These were demonstrated by various sized models at today's launch and looked absolutely fantastic!

Now today's event styling called for the iconic Dita Cardigan from Wheels and Dollbaby. I have been featuring this style on my blog since 2011 and absolutely adore the style and fit of this cardigan. Dita's ranges always have a big focus on being able to suit a variety of body shapes and as you can see the they suit curves perfectly.

In case you have missed my previous posts here are a few images to refresh your mind!

The stunning black and red edition photographed by Jaimie Nicole Photography for my first post featuring Wheels & Dollbaby.

The red and black edition shot earlier this year by the by Shauna Phoon paired with the Essential Logo Skirt. Sadly these styles are sold out online but you can purchase both the Coral and the Pink editions.

All in all, a fantastic experience with thanks to the good people at Myer.

Skirted!

Did you know Hell Bunny now make the most awesome selection of swing/circle skirts? Well they do and they are brilliant.

Available in an assortment of colours, prints and fabrics these skirts are made of the exact same fabrics that you can find many of their dresses in.

I wanted to do a  review for you guys to help you get the best size and styles available right now from this rocking range of separates. So the awesome Aaron Widyanto and I packed a car full of Hell Bunny skirts and petticoats and went for a fun little photo shoot.

Now I'm wearing these styles in 3 different sizes and I will give you the rundown on each.

Belt - Old Torrid sold out.

This print is perfection. Delicate red roses on a solid white cotton fabric, paired perfectly with my Dita Cardigan. I'm wearing this style in a size XL and it does fit my waist but has a little bit of spare room. My waist measurement jumps from 32 inches to 33 inches on a regular basis so I hope that helps you in your search for the right size. Listed as a size 34 inch waist it's close but still not perfect.

I've paired this with my white petticoat from Hell Bunny and I think the combination is adorable! I originally wanted a red petticoat to pair with this but I actually like the softness the white adds to this outfit. The white also came in handy with the next skirt I modeled. The petticoat fits nicely underneath this skirt with a flatness at the waist and bulk where you want it.

I just can't help but show off my underskirt while modeling such items and twirl. You can't forget to twirl in these skirts!!

Pinup Girl Clothing Belt (purchase in store)

Next up we have a colour combination I bet you never thought you'd see me in - baby blues and pinks oh my! This colour and print is so far from my usual styling but I do adore it! I'm a sucker for anything that features flamingo's and this print has my heart.

Sadly this is way too big for me so I've had to safety pin it at the back and add my own belt to secure the skirt at the right point on my waist. This skirt is in a size 2xl and is just not the right fit for my measurements.

The size chart listing of waist measurements for this size is 36 - 37 inches and I would say that is rather spot on.

But after wearing this style and print I'm actually loving the bright colours on my skin. I'm going to make an effort to bring more looks like this into my life come summer.

Belt - Old Torrid sold out.

If you have red hair you know that any shade of green is your best friend and this skirt is my new bestie. The colour is actually a lot darker in reality and the most stunning shade of almost emerald green. Paired with my black petticoat this is my favorite of all the outfits!

I am wearing this style in a size Large and to quote Goldilocks it's 'Just right' Yes we have a winner! I now need to order every Hell Bunny skirt in a large.

Paired again with my other Dita Cardigan which is a perfect match for so many of these skirts and prints.

Have you tried out any of these styles yet or are yet to invest in a few skirts or petticoats? Tell me what you think of all the new separates and prints bellow.
