Dollbaby - The Getaway

Ruffles, lace and velvet - oh my! Florals and knits, leather and charms - this past Wheels and Dollbaby season has left my jaw on the floor as I've been lusting after each and every stunning piece. From core piece redesigned to amazing winter fabrics and print you are seriously spoilt for choice.

So with my bags packed full of Dollbaby goodies I headed to the hills to capture these amazing winter warming styles in the perfect setting with the amazing Jaimie Nicole.

For this review I'm wearing a selection of both size 14 and 16 and I'll be detailing the fit of all garments.

BABY GIRL SKIRT - $125.00

I have been lusting after the Decoratifs top for so very long as it's sexy, sleek and lets face it who doesn't like to be wrapped up in velvet? But my giant chest can cause issueswith most tops these days and then I had a light bulb moment! I have the most stunning and sexy collection of Ewa Michalak bras in my collection so I pair this amazing top with a stunning little lace number and I'm loving the result. It's almost like these two pieces were destined to be together.

I'm wearing both the top and skirt in a size 16 and the fit is perfect! The stretch velvet molds to my curves and is think enough to hold you in tightly slimming down your waistline and in my case pushing that cleavage up even more so. Those delicate riffled and attention to detail on the bust is what makes this top pure magic.

I'm also wearing the Baby Girl skirt in a size 16 and the fit is super firm as the waistband has limited stretch. This is a structured waistline so if you own the super stretchy wiggle skirts be sure to keep that fit advice in mind.

While I accessorised with my bra in this look to add that little touch of lace I also wanted to add a few more pieces to really make this look pop. So I've paired this with a red beret and my favourite red and white dot gloves and the results speak for themselves.

BABY GIRL SKIRT - $125.00

On of my all time favourite sweaters is back with a little embroidered twist. This Dollbaby cropped sweater is one of those timeless and effortless pieces that every girl needs in her collection. While I've modeled the classic and leopard versions of this I have to say that the next Charm Emblem version is my current favourite.

With the high neckline, 3/4 sleeves and that bold white logo this piece will never date and always gives you that polished and classic pinup look.

I'm wearing this sweater in a size 16 and just adore it in this size. I don't even tuck into skirts with this little jumper as I love how the waist band sits and accentuates my waistline. I need this in every colour and print for the rest of my life as it's so easy to wear and style.

Black floral prints - oh how you have my heart! I loved the Chinoiserie print when it was released but all the dress styles did not scream "Teer Style" so I decided to try the printed cardigan instead. This super soft and stretchy cardigan is pure bliss to wear and the knit is so silky on your skin.
The black based floral print makes a goth at heart like myself swoon and I really love each and every bird and flower featured on this classic print. Again I wanted to show a little black lace and I love how so many of the Wheels and Dollbaby pieces work with a hint of lingerie.

I'm wearing the size 16 and the fit is great but be careful if you stretch the fabric a little too much or the white base can pop through. I found this occurred once around the largest part of my bust but I rarely wear cardigans buttoned up these days so that issue would not be a problem in the future.

Just like all of the Dollbaby classic knitwear this item is stretchy but it also holds it shape after each wear which is something that I really need in all of my cardigans.

There are two styles always in stock at Wheels and Dollbaby that I both trust and love the fit of - Leather Jackets and all things Cake Ruffle. I've worn lots of different items from each and every release over the years but the fit of these two items is always 100% on point.

The Cake Ruffle tank top in bright ruby red is a colour way I have been dreaming about for years and now that the tank top and tank dress are here I can add them to my collection. I'm wearing this style in a size 14 as I've found the 16's in tops can be a little too big on my waist. The stretchy soft cotton molds to my bust and really pops perfectly on my pale skin. What I love most about this tank has to be the charm and black velvet bow.

Now I'm going to cross all of my fingers and toes and hope that this specific colour way is released in the dress that I inspired - the swing version of the standard cupcake dress or even a dark print!!!

For the leather jacket I went for a size 16 and it fits like a second skin. This buttery amazingly soft leather is the bees knees and the fit is honestly amazing. It's firm, thick and so very soft and molds to you which a faux leather moto never does. Fully linned and features all the hardware you'll ever need on a moto jacket. There is also a huge logo embossed across the back of the jacket but silly me I forgot to shoot it!! It's those little touches that make this jacket so special and worth the investment as this will never date and it will last you a lifetime. Now I just need to save up for this style and for the red leather as that is my unicorn of biker jackets.

And now for something a little more laid back and oh so comfy. This is my 5th Oversized sweater from Wheels, and the reason I keep coming back to this style with every print and reissue has to be the choice of fabrics and the casual chic look and fit.
But this season the knit and fabric is different so this version fits even better. It's a lighter knit but don't let that fool you it's still as cozy and warm as ever. I'm wearing the 14 and it's not too bulky or over sized. I tend to always size down in these sweaters as I like the fit to be tighter. I could have rocked the 12 as well but I'm happy with the perfect fit of the 14.

In my collection I have the pony club, skull and logo sweaters but this by far is my favourite due to the fabric choice and the mixture of black and red text.

Many thanks to the brilliant Jaimie Nicole for capturing all of these looks perfectly. My first ever review for Wheels and Dollbaby was shot by her and it's amazing to team up again.

La Mayfair Affair

The new spring/summer collection La Mayfair Affair from the iconic Australia designer Wheels and Dollbaby has officially been released as of 10.00 am this morning and I'm blown away by the mixture of fabrics, the colour palette and the stunning new shapes. This season is all about soft gold and rose gold sparkles, lots of lace and sexy silhouettes plus there are lots of styles that go up to a 16 and even and 18! Hopefully I'll get the chance to try on and shoot some of my favourites from this collection over the next few weeks.

I'm an absolute sucker for a retro cape. Capes can turn any little black dress into a stunning evening look and the Dartagnan cape in stunning rose gold sequin is absolute perfection. What Dollbaby doesn't love bows and a little bit of sparkle.

THE CLARIDGES DRESS - $425.00 (up to size 16)

More sparkles? Yes please! The Claridges dress is a show stopper and the perfect Spring/Summer cocktail dress. With all my favourite design features such as 3/4 sleeves, a low bust and a flirty skirt, this dress is perfect for Dollbabies with curves. While I'm usually not one to wear such a shade I'm really loving all of the rose gold used in this collection and I'll definitely be trying this.

THE GYPSY NIGHTS DRESS - $385.00 (up to size 16)

All my lace witchy dress dreams have come true in with the arrival of the Gypsy Nights Dress. The perfect amount of sheerness and delicate lace detailing make this a summer staple for me.

LE CHIC PENCIL SKIRT - $225.00 (up to size 16)
WIDE GOLD BELT - $39.00

I absolutely love this combination of soft colours with the bold gold waist belt! The Le Chic Pencil Skirt is one of the most beloved styles from Wheels and Dollbaby and with a fit like this you can understand why. This stunning new pale blue Marie Antoinette inspired fabric is perfect for the upcoming warmer months.

BACK TO PARIS DRESS - $265.00 (up to size 16)

I feel hard for the Finishing School dress earlier this year and I'm so excited to see that a sleeveless version has been released. The fit on this dress is phenomenal and I just adore that peter pan collar.

A LINE CAKE RUFFLE - $125.00 (up to size 18)

Now this style is one of my the most exciting for me personally as it was designed as a 'Teer' dress! I have this in my hot little hands right now and I can't wait to shoot it over the weekend. I won't got into too much detail here but this style is perfect and I'm so honoured that Melanie created a dress inspired by me! A full review will be up online within the next week.

DOWNTOWN GOWN - $595.00 (up to size 14)

Every season Wheels and Dollbaby release a gown that makes me swoon and this ruby red full length formal gown has my heart. Made from imported deluxe red stretch satin, this beribboned gown ties seductively at the shoulders to compliment an enviable décolletage. Now if only I had a smaller chest I'd be buying this asap!

SECRET NIGHTS PENCIL SKIRT - $225.00 (up to size 16)

Second on my must-have-as-soon-as-humanly-possible list is again this stunning rose gold sequin fabric. I've never been a girl who is nutty for sparkles but there is something so appealing about this colour and I need it in my wardrobe.

THE MARIE ANTOINETTE CARDIGAN -$165.00 (up to size 18)
This Wheels & Dollbaby signature slim fitted cardigan featuring a romantic and rococo crème lattice and rosette embroidery detail, it's beautifully topped with a coquettish bow. This cardigan is an absolute must have for spring and I've already paired this with the skirt above for the perfect date night outfit.
This is just a small taste of what is available online right now and each style has a great size range which is perfect for curvier Dollbabies such as myself. Be sure to check back here next week for a full review and lots of photos of the Cupcake Aline Dress!

Birds of Paradise

As the new season stock rolls into Wheels and Dollbaby I finally got the chance to shoot and review my favourite items! With stunning new stock and some classic pieces I'm going to have to admit that this season I'm absolutely smitten with everything!

Wool Beret - $45.00

While the logical side of my brain would tell me you don't need another Wednesday Addams style dress in your collection, the peter pan collar fashion loving freak screamed at logic and I snapped up this dress as soon as it arrived!  Made from stretch matte ponti which both hugs your curves and holds you in tight, the Finishing School Dress is what dreams are made of.

With a tailored waist, my favourite 3/4 length sleeve. pleated skirt and scallop edge collar this is one of the most flattering style high neck dresses I've ever owned.

I'm wearing this style in a 16 and it's so comfortable yet the perfect tailoring and bow/collar combination make it a perfect dress for winter dinner dates. The adorable skinny belt and navy blue bow complete the vintage almost mod vibe of this frock and I honestly can't get enough of it! I'm just crazy for this dress and I can't wait to take it out tonight! Perfect for both work and play you can style this dress up or down with platform pump or a cute ballet flat. I can't wait to pair this with lace up black boots and stockings all winter long.

With such a bold and cute collar I wanted to make my accessories pop just as much as the dress does so I paired this dress with the latest addition to my glove collection.

I've recently found an amazing Sydney based company who specialize in leather gloves with a mixture of both vintage and modern styling. Have to Have are now my leather glove mecca and I've included some of their styles in this shoot and a bit editorial I have coming up with Adore Pinup Magazine; I can't wait to share that one with you guys! For this outfit I chose the red leather dotti gloves with white dots and they are pinup perfection. Also available in black and white which I also have they fit tight at first then mold to your hands as all good gloves should. I'm usually a small to medium in gloves so I went for the size 7 (medium) and they fit like a dream. If there is one accessory item I can highly advise you to invest in it has to be leather gloves. They last forever and look amazing all season long.

Essential Logo Skirt
Gloves - From my Own Collection
Beret - Ebay

There is something about a scarlet red cardigan that makes me go weak at the knees and the new Birds of Paradise cardigan is absolutely gorgeous. It's a rich red viscose elastane knit that never looses it's shape but hugs all your curves. Featuring satin finish embroidery features exotic birds of paradise, luxurious feminine florals and elegant peacocks and a 1950s inspired sleeve with gathering and padding create an elegant long shoulder line.

What I love most about Wheels and Dollbaby cardigans have to be all the perfect little details. The velvet covered buttons in a bold contrasting black and the pleated edging on the sleeve and bottom of this cardigan.

I'm wearing this style and all items within this post in a size 16 and the fit is perfect! There is not button popping or gaping and it shoes just the right about of cleavage for my taste which is, let's face it, "Boobs visible always". I was worried at first about the pleated shoulder and though it might bulk my upper arms up too much but it's ended up being very flattering.

The birds of paradise embroidery is lush and so intricate featuring amazing bird and flowers. I really adore the colours used as I'd usually not think they would work on such a deep red but they really pop. I honestly can't get enough of this colour and love how it pairs with my pale skin and red hair.

Essential Logo Skirt

The dollbaby sweater - a classic I've worn in leopard print once before but never in black and I have no idea what took me so long!! This sweater is a classic 50's fit perfect for absolutely any skirt, high waist short or jean. Versatile, super stretchy and so easy to style and the small Dollbaby emblem and black bow make this sweater absolutely adorable.

I'm loving all of the high necked styles from Wheels and Dollbaby and how much that flatter my rather large bustline. The fit of this cardigan in a size 16 is perfect for my bust to waist ratio due to the stretch of the knitted fabric. It also nips in at the waist to emphasize your waist and this makes it an ideal cardigan for winter pinup outfits. While I did not keep this sweater it is the next thing on my lust list and I will be wearing this to death.

For an all black outfit I wanted a little pop of print with my accessories and while I stayed safe with my charcoal beret I had a little more fun with my gloves. The vento style is a stunning all black leather glove with cashmere lining and a bold leopard print cuff. While I'm usually not too crazy for leopard print I absolutely love these gloves. They really pop on an all black outfit and I can't wait to show you more images of them!

This whole outfit is making me want dress a retro french spy each and every day this winter.

Polka Dot Skirt - $198.00
Wool Beret - $45.00

More polka dots!! But this time in a colour you rarely see me in - blue. Although I love blue and navy I find it hard to pair with both shoes and other items of clothing but after seeing these images I see that black and this shade of blue are perfect together.

This button up shirt is made from a super stretchy yet silky soft fabric that feels amazing to wear. I'm wearing the 16 and like all the other Dollbaby button ups I own it actually buttons up over my chest with ease! Now this shirt naturally hits the top of my hips and is a great length for jeans and shorts but when paired it with a high waisted skirt I wanted to show off my waist like so the waist tie style worked best.

The blue and white polka dot fabric is so soft and I love the fitted cuff and long sleeve as it really flatters my arms. This style is also available in leopard print and I really hope that more prints or colour ways come out in this exact shirt. I'd love a super stretchy western or a vintage tattoo dollbaby print in this style.

I also think that the combination of black. navy and raspberry might just be my new favourite for winter so now I need to add a little more blue and white to my collection!

Now I've paired all of these tops included in this post with my Dollbaby Essential logo skirt which is now out of stock. For the closest curve hugging fit I can highly recommend the Deadly Nights Pencil Skirt as I wore these style in a 14 on the runway and it's amazing.

Last but not least I finally had a chance to shoot the absolutely stunning Birds of Paradise ballet dress. This sheer sleeved faux wrap dress is an absolute must have for any curvy Dollbaby. The wrap style top, pleated skirt and 3/4 sleeve make this one of the most flattering and easy to wear dresses in the collection. Available in both plain back and bird motif this dress suits all shapes and sizes and if you are busty it makes your chest look amazing!

Featuring the power mesh fabric I've come to know and love this dress is form fitting up top and super flowy from the waist down. There is also a black faux velvet tie at the back to add that extra waist definition. In a 16 this dress fits firmly but due to the stretch power mesh you have lots of freedom in the arms and a skirt that you just can't help but twirl. I love how this style is transeasonal as well being perfect for spring or paired with boots, stockings and a leather jacket in the winter.

All items featured in this post can be purchased in sizes 14 and 16 and if you need any extra help with measurements please feel free to comment below. Many thanks again to Liz from L2 Photography
working with me on this shoot and capturing these amazing styles perfectly. I can't wait to plan some more creative shoots with you!

Noir Dollbaby

A few weeks ago I announced the pre-order release of the latest collaboration between Wheels & Dollbaby and Dita Von Teese. Now this new colour way news was a little sweeter than the past announcements as this new colour way is available up to a size 18!! So last weekend I teamed up with the amazing L12 Photography and shot the new version of the must-have cardigan and lots of other Dollbaby goodies.

The Dita cardigan was the first item of clothing I ever reviewed for Wheels & Dollbaby and it will forever my most loved style. So when a new colour way is released I instantly snap this beautiful knit up!

This year my gothic pinup dreams were answered with the Noir. A stunning black on black version of the always delicious cardigan that is more stunning in reality than I could have imagined. The detail of the black rose embroidery is absolutely perfect and for a girl like myself who wears all black most days of the week, the Noir will be worn constantly this winter. My stand out favourite feature has to be the peter pan collar and velvet bow tie neckline. It's the iconic and super sexy feature we all have grown to love about this cardigan.

I own a selection of 14 and 16's in this style and I've found that the fit and knit quality has improved year after year. This style is a 16 and it's both super stretchy yet firm so it hugs your curves and holds you tight. As you can see the buttons do not gape and due to the stretch knit you will have no issues buttoning this up. So if you are a size 14 to 18 Wheels & Dollbaby have you covered and you won't have any issues with fit - I promise!!

The all black choice is brilliant as it's so easy to style and looks amazing with solid coloured pencil skirts,  high waisted pants, shorts and even more amazing with printed swing skirts as shown. Now I need to get a few more magical printed swing style skirts because they look AMAZING this the Noir Dita!

Many thanks to Liz from L12 photography.com for these amazing shots!! I can't wait to share the rest of the images we took together!

Have you heard the news? There is a new Dita Cardigan available for pre-order and my little Gothic heart melts at the colour - NOIR!

As a girl who wears black as her staple uniform, I'm so excited for this release! My most prized and beloved Dita cardigan has to be the black with red roses, so this all black version is a must for my collection. Featuring all of the stunning and trusted features that we have all grown to love, and now up to a size 18!! I really hope to review this and give even more fit advice for my curvier Dollbabies. I usually wear a 14 or 16 so if you have any fit questions please ask away.

Be sure to get your hands on this noir darling and secure another limited edition cardigan for your collection.

New Dita Cardigan News!!

Yesterday I broke the news over on Instagram but I had to dish it right here as well for you my lovely readers!

Wheels and Dollbaby have just told me that there will be a new Dita Cardigan colour way this year and that it will be available up to a size 18!! Yes, you read that correctly; Wheels are finally extending their Dita Cardigan range up to an 18.

Now for all my Aussie readers that's a standard size 18 but for international readers please be sure to check a size chart for fit details. This will fit a UK 18 with ease but for US based customers this will be more of a 12 or size 14. I'll be sure to give you all more fit details when the new colour arrives.

This is such super exciting news!

Poison Ivy

Cue Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs while I shimmy and shake over the new Poison Ivy range released today at Wheels and Dollbaby, with a stunning new print featuring an exquisite portrayal of exotic birds of paradise, printed over signature imported stretch satin. Highlights for this season include curve hugging silhouettes (perfect for those with curves to kill), embroidered leather and knits, lots of embellishments and some stunning red carpet-worthy gowns.

This campaign was shot in Melanie's Sydney home, The Del Rio and the look book is absolute perfection. Australian model Simone Holtznagel is a dream in this set of images and makes each and every item look divine.

Here are a few of my absolute favourites that will fit up to a size 14 and 16!

My absolute dream dress has to be the Birds of Paradise Ballet Dress! Every single aspect of this style is my ultimate outfit. With a 3/4 length sleeve, the pleated skirt the plunging wrap neckline and the stunning embroidery this is the perfect dress for an hour glass figure. The powermesh is also a dream to wear as it holds you tight without restricting movement. I wore a powermesh skirt and top when I was on the runway for Wheels & Dollbaby in Perth and I instantly fell in love with the fabric. Up to a size 16 this style is a must have for Autumn, Winter and Spring and the styling possibilities are endless. This style also comes in plain black without the featured embroidery ($255) but this one is number one on my list.

Next is the amazing Paradise Leather Jacket. Two Wheels moto/biker jackets in my collection and I love them dearly but I never thought that anything could top the Bluebird embroidered design I already own. The Paradise Jacket has done this with a stunning colour embroidered bird pattered on the front and sleeves of this awesome moto and with a new logo back patch! I know I don't have room for another leather jacket in my collection but holy hell I want this one! The jacket is available up to a to a 16 but I wear a 14 in the motos.

Now lets talk knits! The new season cardigan is the perfect for any Dita Cardigan collector as it has two things we adore about that style included in the design. The cardigan showcases the exquisite ‘Birds Of Paradise’ chinoiserie motif, black velvet buttons and black pleated edging around the 3/4 legnth sleeve and bottom of the cardigan. I love the gathered and padded shoulder as it creates a bold shape and add an extra element to what most knits are lacking. This item is available up to a 14 but this fits a 16 with ease. I own both sizes in most cardigans.

While this next item is not a new season style I had to included it as I'm a huge fan of each and every sweater in store! The plain black sweater with simple white 'Dollbaby' embroidered  on the front is a key item for any girls wardrobe as we head into Autumn and Winter. This sweater goes with everything and the super stretchy knit hugs you in all of the right places.

I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw a new fabric version of the Irma La Douce Pencil Skirt in the catalog. I've shot this style every few seasons and the fit is amazing on my super hippy shape. I've worn this style in both the 14 and 16 (in store in both sizes) and I find the 14 to be a more perfect fit as the fabric is stretchy and soft. When you get this skirt in your hands you will be amazed by how soft and luxurious it feels. I wear this style with the buttons open up the the middle of my thigh but you can wear this in many ways as each button is functioning.

The new red fabric is so rich and yummy and it pairs perfectly with the Paradise Pleat Cardigan. Much like the red cardigan shown above but in a perfect black knit fabric. While I love the red cardigan I get so much more wear from black in my wardrobe it seems and looking at this style next to the Irma skirt I think combined they create the most perfect curve hugging outfit. Available up to a size 14.

Now I wanted to feature all of the stunning gowns from this new range but sadly they don't go up to a size 16! But I did find one item that I'm lusting after featuring the Mata Hari Snake embellishment. I adore my Wheels and Dollbaby pencil skirts as they never loose their shape and fit like a dream. But who needs a plain black wiggle when you can get an amazing sequin snake wrapped around your waist. No need for waist belts as this snake creates the same cinching effect. If you look super close you can see the snake has ruby red eyes as well, making it a little more evil and awesome. This style goes up to a size 16.

Next on my list is the Le Fox makeup bag. I arrived home last week to the amazing handbag version of this (jumped up and down, did a happy dance and then hugged it) and I think I definitely need the makeup bag to match.

Le Fox Tote Bag - $295.00

I've been smitten with the Le Fox visual of years now but I missed out on any of the clothing items so once this was released I knew I could finally have it in my collection. Each item is made from faux leather so if you are vegan this is for you! With an adorable masked fox printed on the front and a super soft faux fox tail this is my most treasured handbag. I can't wait to use it in a shoot this weekend!

What are you stand out favourites from the Poison Ivy Collection?
