Apple Spice and Everything Nice

As Melbourne starts to warm up and spring is in full bloom I'm inspired by new prints, colours and all detailed adorable accessories. But unlike most of my reviews which usually start with an item of clothing this post was based on my amazing Irregular Choice shoes.

With a floral and sparkling base, I created both a full outfit, and an amazing flat lay and I'm 100% in love with this outfit - from head to toe. There is something so satisfying about creating a full look and styling each and every piece - almost like telling a little story through your outfit.

The base for this amazing outfit started with my Apple Spice Heels in gold floral from Irregular Choice. These stunning small heels feature a classically styled upper of roses are surrounded by glitter and finished with a grosgrain bow and triple layered matching rose fabric bow. I'm wearing these in a 42, and they fit like an absolute dream.

From the moment I saw these thoughts of cream buns, yummy wine and lots of fruit popped into mind so the flat lay was so simple to create! Mixing all my most loved items with these heels and the stunning blue floral fabric to create a soft and sweet look.

The soft floral paired with the glittering gold also inspired me to find the most perfect picnic rug and during my search I found my new favourite outdoor accessory company - Wandering Folk. A company that focuses on the things I hold dear, outdoor adventures, good friends and great food. They create picnic rugs, outdoor coolers, cushions, and glasswear and have all of your picnic, camping our outdoor needs covered in such a stunning and stylish way.

This pastel picnic rug was the perfect choice to pair with this look and the comfort and stunning print make you want to lay in the park all day with a good book. This beautiful rug is completed with a weather proof base, 4 tassels an a brown woven strap which turns this piece into it's own carry bag I'm now counting down the days till summer so I can get out and about with this effortlessly stylish piece.

With the base sorted it was time to complete the full look with a beautiful blue floral print from Lindy Bop. The magnolia blue watercolour swing dress is so different for me but as I've mentioned in earlier posts this year 2019 is all about trying new colours for me!

The soft blue and white floral print is divine and so easy to style with a variety of colours. This piece features a deep fitted waistband, wrap around bust, lined bodice (for that extra level of comfort), a Vshaped pleated neckline and capped sleeves. The pleated bust is a brilliant feature for a larger cup girl like myself as it molds to fit your bust perfectly. I'm wearing this swing dress in a UK18, and the fit is amazing with a little stretch and room at the waist. Plus this piece also has pockets so you can sneak all the snacks into your picnic.

I've paired this amazing dress with my Yemak 3/4 cardigan in the shade Honey and a deep red belt. I love how well this blue floral print pairs with primary colours.

I wear an XL in all Yemak cardigans and I tend to pair them with absolutely everything due to fit and colour range.

Accessories wise other than the absolutely amazing footwear I've combined 3 of my brightest blooms from Miz Smitten Kitten. Grouping all of my complimentary pieces is my go to style at the moment - the bigger the better!

I can't get enough of each and every piece in this outfit, and I can't wait to style each in the future. Thank you to my amazing husband for shooting these images with me.

Cherry Velvet Plus

Recently I had the pleasure featuring an amazing Canadian company Cherry Velvet Plus. Now I've obviously been hiding under a rock because it's taken me way too long to discover this brilliant company! I found Cherry Velvet when looking for some great work appropriate dresses for my latest article in Adore Pinup Magazine (full review and post will be out next Monday) and I must say they have such a brilliant selection and size range.

Fitting sizes XS to 4X they help dresses each and every shape. It's great to see every size being included as no one like to be left out. Many companies focus on either standard or plus sizes but companies such as Cherry Plus Velvet give both small and large shoppers the chance to wear whatever they want.

For my first review I needed to go with my most loved colour of all time - ruby red!

Bright red - check! Full skirted - check! Stunning bust line - check! Hidden pockets - check!

I've been searching high and low for a dress with a winged bust but I've never had any luck with them as my cup is a 34GG. Finally my searching is over as the Elly dress has ticked every box and given me the chance to finally wear a winged bust.

A vibrant and super cute swing dress style made from a high quality cotton/spandex mix the Elly is not only a great fit but a really comfortable fit. The spandex mixture in the fabric offers the right amount of stretch and give around the waist and bust line. According to the size chart, I'm a size Large and I think the fit is spot on for this style. I could have even gone down a size as it's super roomy at the waist. With a simple back zip this style is effortlessly chic and a joy to wear.

This dress offers a few more features that I adore for very specific reasons. Being a busty lass I wear thicker strap bras and hate having to wear thin strapped dresses that show off my bra straps. This style offers full bra strap coverage while still cupping the bust perfectly and showing a little cleavage. I can't wait to style this in the warmer months with bright boleros and lots more colour!

If you love the shape but don't want the a red dress you can choose from black damask, black jacquard and a stunning ivory pearlized jacquard print fabric which would be an amazing wedding dress.

I currently have a few more of their stunning dresses on my lust list and hope to get my hands on them over the next few months. The Robin dress is on the top of my list due to the adorable pastel print and neckline, I'd love to style this with teal accessories over summer. Then I need the Brooke Dress in Vanilla Stardust as I've already worn this style and it is FANASTIC! The black and white retro print will work wonderfully with my wardrobe staples and to be honest I want to live in this style. I forsee see a long term romance with all of their brilliant designs and fabrics.

Many thanks to the my amazing photographer Robin Elk for braving the winter chills and snapping these images by the waterside. Next week I'll be able to share a few more items from Cherry Velvet Plus with you and the remainder of my review so be sure to check back!

Pigtails and Pirates

From bright, bold and fun fabrics to soft pastels and floral, Pigtails and Pirates represents a brand that lets you express your individual style!

This week I'm featuring a home grown amazing designer - Laura Jones the brain behind Pigtails and Pirates. Originally started as a children's clothing company, Pigtails and Pirates have expanded into a ladies wear line focusing on 1950's silhouette in bright and unique fabrics.

I've never envisioned myself if a pale blue floral print but there was something that drew me strongly to this super feminine and soft fabric. When I first slipped into this beautifully crafted swing dress I was instantly in love with the fit. With slightly high sweetheart neck (for my cleavage), fitted waist an thick strap the Spring Fling is a spring and summer dress dream. I'm wearing this style in a size 16 and it's very true to the size chart and even a little roomy in the waist. The fabric is soft cotton and features a fully lined bodice and invisible zip.

Now this is one hot designer it seems within the pinup blogging community and I really do adore how this style both fits and flatters ever body shape. I've seen many girls shooting this style on it's own so for my shoot I wanted to pair it up with the accessories I would wear with it on a regular basis. I chose red and teal shades to compliment the print and pale blue fabric. I love how well the red pops with this shade of blue and I can't wait to find more cardigans and boleros to match.

Please try to ignore the wrinkles on my never wrinkle sweater as I rushed from the clothes line to my shoot and the pegs seem to have left a mark. For any images of the sweater as it would normally look please click the link below the first image.

The dress is even that cute it works in black and white! There are many more prints and colour ways in this stunning style and a few different necklines and skirt varieties. So if pale blue floral with butterflies is not your style then don't fear! These are my current favorites in the range :

Peppermint Swirl - $199.00
Summer Delight - $199.00

Something sweet, something geeky and an absolutely stunning yellow floral print would be amazing editions to my wardrobe. I love the fit of this dress so much that I will be getting more in the future and I can't wait to shoot maybe one of the above with more perfectly picked accessories.

This style would also look amazing with the addition of a 3/4 length sleeve for the cooler months of the year. I wonder if there are any plans in the works?

Thank you to Alesich Photography for these brilliant images and such a fun afternoon in the summer sun and wind - my fringe never had a chance!

New Stock! New Shoot with Pinup Boutique

Just a short post to show you some of the new stock available right now at Pinup Boutique.

Last week I jumped on the train and spent few hours modeling, chatting and having a ball as per usual with the lovely owner of this brilliant online store. So here is what I loved the most from the current new stock, you will find even more online right now.

My stand out favorite! This is the perfect sexy secretary look in my mind all I need is some black cats-eye spectacles and I'd be set! I loved this top so much I bought it at the shoot.

I'm wearing the both the top and the skirt in an XL and both fit like a dream. With a little stretch to both of the fabrics these two items are a joy to wear and won't loose their shape. The Lace pencil skirt is a must have for your collection as well. The lace just adds that extra va va voom to the figure hugging skirt.

So since I've been working with Pinup Boutique I've become a big fan of halterneck swing dresses. I never thought that would be happen but I'm glad it did!

I'm actually wearing this style in a Medium a the XL and Large were very loose and I felt this gave me the best shape and support. The fabric is amazing and the swing skirt fit is so comfortable.

Well I don't always feel so perfect but a super cute wiggle dress helps. This is a XL and the fit is spot on. I love the white piping and buttons. This is very much the ultimate boobie dress which means it's added to the list of Teer dresses as boobs are my thing. This dress is worth every penny and the nautical accessories that you can pair with this - perfection!

I wish it was spring already so I could picnic in this adorable frock! Another halter swing style that I adore!

The piping, buttons and pockets on this style make me swoon. The fit is perfect in the Large and I even felt very supported in the bust as I'm only wearing a strapless. This is definitely going on my lust list.

This is just a small taste for what you can find at Pinup Boutique so check out their New Arrivals and other goodies asap.

Polka-dots, Monsters and Sailors oh my!

Another season has passed and here I am once again to bring you my current favorites from Hell Bunny. It's taken me many years but I can now proudly say that I love swing style dresses and petticoats.

Now don't get me wrong I still adore my wiggle styles but there is just something so fun and playful about a swing dress or skirt.

B-Movie Dress - $74.95AU
Hell Bunny Green Petticoat - $48.95
Heartbreaker Fashion - Betty Bolero in Black - $34.00US
Luichiny Eye Doll Platforms - $89.95US

Being a big B-Grade Horror movie fan I love pretty much anything that has this Monstertastic print!

This swing dress (in an XL) is the same style as others I have in my collection so I should have remembered to size down to the Large for a tighter fit. This is a halter style so it can accommodate different sizes chests.

But overall this dress is brilliant! The bright print goes perfectly with the super psychobilly green of the petticoat! I added the waist belt to define the waist band as it is a little too roomy for me around here. The petticoat not only matches this dress perfectly but also makes the 50's swing style skirt work to it's full potential.

Motley 50's Dress in Navy Blue - £49.99
Heartbreaker Fashions - Betty Bolero in Red - $34.00US

Bringing out my love for all things nautical with this dress! This is the same style as the B-Grade print above so you can see its a little loose around the waist also. I am not wearing a petticoat under this dress but it still retains the great aline/circle skirt shape.

The fabric on this is a lot heavier than the previous dress and very lush. I adore the addition of pocket the bow on the bust/strap. Every little feature on this frock is adorable and so perfectly nautical!

I paired this with the red betty bolero as the navy and bright red always suit each other perfectly! I would have loved to have worn this with a matching thick red waist belt and heels but I forgot to pack them! Silly me!

Peggy Sue Dress - $74.00AU
Heartbreaker Fashion - Betty Bolero in Black - $34.00US
Hell Bunny Black Petticoat - $48.95AU

Finally we get to my stand out favorite of all 3 dresses. What stands out to me about this style is the black features throughout the red and white polka dot print. This is an XL but due to the more form fitting shape it's a perfect fit. The padded bust holds you in nicely (I am wearing a bra) and the back of the bodice is smocked from the top of the waist band for a perfect fit. There are pockets on the front of this style also which is fantastic.

My bolero covers the straps of this dress but they are spaghetti thin and there are 3! One is a falter and two are just halter straps. You can remove all of these depending on how you want the garment to look.

I paired this with a black petticoat, belt and bolero to make the black buttons and other accents pop even more so!

Here is a clearer version of the button detail.

Many thanks to my photographer and fellow Bella Model Jessica Eisner for shooting and working with me on this! She is an awesome photographer so check out her work via facebook and book a shoot. I hope to work with her again shortly.

Haunted Housewife Dress Review & Sneak Peak

I waited so many months for this dress all the way back to August when I showed the Fall/Spring preview so when I got word that it was online I bought it asap. I had been hunting for the last year for the most perfect shirt/swing dress and what luck Micheline Pitt had already created it.

This my lovely readers is now my favorite dress in my closet!

The Haunted House-wife Dress in Black Stretch Sateen with White Piping and white skull buttons - Could this be any more perfect? I am wearing an XL (sizes come in XS-2X) and its a perfect fit! It fits snugly but still has a little give. The arms are very fitted and have a small amount of stretch. If you own the Doris Top in an XL you will fit just like me in this dress. This dress is also made in Red with Black piping!

Skull Button Detail

It fits like a glove and really makes you feel fantastic, I've worn this out a few times and even on Christmas day, the full skirt cam in handy when I pigged out!

It actually comes with a matching belt but I'm not a fan of skinnier belts with my waist line so I took one of the many black belts I have from my other Pinup Girl Clothing dresses and I think it goes perfectly.

Teamed up with my Glamor Guts Pumps from Iron Fist Australia $112AU which I think match perfectly.

I also can't control my urge to twirl when I'm wearing this stunning dress.

I only got this a week before Christmas but sadly they have all sold out in both colours black and red. But if you add yourself to the waitlist they will email you as soon as they get more stock in. Myself and so many other girls were watching Pinup Girl Clothing's facebook page so we all snatched them up very fast.

Though sadly this dress has sold out you can add yourself to the waitlist so you can snap this dress up as soon as it returns. They also offer two other dresses that have a simular style that I adore just as much as this design.

The Birdie Dress :

in Royal Blue $118US

in Peacock Print $118US

Today Pinup Girl Girl clothing uploaded a sneak peak of new styles that will be arriving by the end of the month here is a sneak peak :

The Audrey Skirt in black and pink, I've been looking everywhere for a good swing/circle skirt so I can't wait for this to come out. This is teamed up with the Pinup Couture Boat Neck Top.

The Pinup Couture Gia Top - Wardrobe staple in lots of colour choices, I love the white and red most of all. Perfecly paired with the Pinup Couture Pencil Skirt in Black & White Pin Dot Sateen

The Doris Top - I can't put into words how amazing the fit is on this stunning item. Now a new colour to add to the collection, green always wins me over. Pinup Couture Pencil Skirt in Black Cherry Sateen is also super cute, i'm not a fan of cherries but it matches perfectly with the new doris top.

Thank you to my blog photographer Micheal Alesich from Lucky & Rice.
