Oh Elsa!

As a long time lover of Heart of Haute's button up blouses I was delighted to discover the release of the long sleeve wonder that is the Elsa Blouse. I'm forever searching for fitted and stunning button up/pussy bow style shirts for both work and play and the Elsa is perfection in blouse form.

How stunning is the fit and shape of this blouse??? It's such a perfectly created shirt and the pale blue colour works wonderfully with my skin tone. While this fabric choice is out of stock you can still purchase the Chambray Swiss Dot version in blue and black which I honestly prefer more colour wise.  Bellow are the other styles available and I need to snap both up as the dot fabric is perfection. A true 1940's style blouse that flatters both large and small chests while hugging your curves.

Elsa Blouse - Chambray Swiss Dot Black - $60.00

I'm wearing this style in a size 1xl and I found it to be one size too large for my current measurements. So when I pick up the other versions I will be going back to an XL as this blouse was really roomy in both the arms and the waist. The length of the blouse hits right at your hips so this can be worn tucked or un tucked both casually or dressed up. I paired the Elsa with my favourite skirt to wear most days - The Haute Circle Skirt - Black GoGetter! It's such an essential part of my wardrobe at the moment and I can't get enough of the fit and flow of the fabric.

So off I go to order all of the Else Blouses and I will secretly (well, not so secretly if I've written it here) hope and wish for more colours and prints in this style. I need a whole weeks worth of this shirt so at least 4 or 5 more colours would be welcome in my wardrobe.

Many thanks to Katherine Davis for shooting these stunning springtime images and I can't wait to work with her again on Monday!

Haute Honey

I feel like it's been far too long between Heart of Haute posts! This obviously had to be rectified and many stunning items had to be ordered and shot in country Victoria with my local favorite girl Katherine Davis.

This is my 3rd Monte Carlo Dress and it won't be my last. As you may be able to tell I have a big crush on this style and the stunning fit! With button up dresses you can have way too many fit and fabric pull issues but in the Monte Carlo those issues are a thing of the past. I have this style in Teal and Red but when I saw the Regency Smoke printed fabric online I knew I had to make it mine!

There is something so regal and stunning about this divine print and the fabric molds perfectly to my shape. I'm wearing this style as I have my other two versions in a size XL and I find this fabric a lot more sturdy and a little thicker than the previous two. I think this helps to secure the bust and creates a more firm fit. The arms on this style fit so firmly they make you feel like you've been pumping iron in the gym and that's what I love about a properly designed 3/4 length sleeve.

This is one of those styles that every woman needs in her collection and in as many colours as humanly possible. They need no over accessorizing or extras, just a stunning pair of pumps and a clutch bag and you're done!  I really can't get over how brilliantly crafted the Monte Carlo dress is and it's a style I'll keep coming back to as long as Heart of Haute still continue to make it. I have dreams of owning this style in emerald green and plain black, then and only then will my collection be complete.

Please let me introduce you to one of the sexiest suits I've ever owned. The Diva suit is a new style from HOH, offering an affordable two piece suit for office or play. Brilliantly designed to accentuate curves, nip you in at the waist and offer that little bit of sex appeal to your wardrobe. Made from a super stretchy soft Poly/Rayon/Spandex Ponte Verona mix these two pieces are a dream to wear both to the office and out for drinks.

I'm wearing both pieces in the XL and they are a perfectly fitted to my curves. The jacket has a full length sleeve which is roomy enough to later a button up blouse beneath and a button up front. My favourite feature is the peplum hem which makes your waist look tiny! The jacket is such a strong piece and I'm already planning extra outfits to wear it with such as high waisted jeans and disco pants!

The trumpet style Diva skirt hugs you in all of the right places and adds that sexy secretary vibe to the suit. While I'm now a complete convert to the swing skirt I do love the fit and high waist of the Diva skirt but would love to see it a little shorter length wise. I'll be pairing this with button ups like the Ella Top and wearing this full look to work asap. I think this style blazer will also look great with the skirt featured in the look below.

Ella Top in Black/White Stripe - $52.00 (sold out but more colours available online)

Now if you follow me on Instagram you might have noticed the Ella Top pop up recently and many other times over the years in different prints or colour options. If you are a busty lass you know the pain that comes along with wearing button ups and how they pop or pull right at your bustline. Heart of Haute's button up tops are the only high necks I feel both comfortable and good in! They don't make me look more top heavy and actually button up over my bustline!

This time I opted for a 1XLapposed to an XL as I wanted there to be absolutely no chance of button popping as my bust has gone up a few inches in the last year. The 1XL fits great at the bust but is much roomier at the waist than the XL, this was a feature I loved in the XL. Damn my hourglass shape!! While I usually wear XL's in HOH I think for this style when tucked into full skirts I'll stick with the larger size. It you are looking to wear yours with a more fitted bottom I'd suggest going with the XL as there is a little bulk under the waist line for me when I wear this shirt due to the looseness under my bust.

Now can we focus on this phenomenal skirt!! The Haute Circle Skirt is my new go to black swing style skirt and it's a dream to wear. The XL fits me perfectly at the waist and drapes perfectly over my hips. I'm wearing this style without a petticoat because it really does not need one. I've been wearing this to work, out for lunch and any occasion I can find. It pairs perfectly with blouses, peasant tops, button ups and knits and even band tees. I adore how absolutely versatile it is.

Now this outfit would not have been complete without my second skin the Sweet Sweater and I think the combination of that with the Ella top has to be my all time favourite look. I'm wearing it but the red version as I type! For both black looks I've worn my red hot Bordello Teeze Mary Jane Pump to add an extra pop of colour. My wardrobe will eternally grateful when I get every colour of this sweater as I live it in! Next on my list has to be the blue and berry shades!

Now as soon as I shot these stunning items even more brilliant goodies have arrived in store and I'm thinking of what I need to slip into next! Here is a little taste of what I'm lusting after next!

What's on your Heart of Haute lust list?

Betty Le Bonbon - Cheek Boutique

Photobucket

Betty Le Bonbon is an Australian based online shop offering something that is very near and dear to me - Circle Skirts for Inbetweenies!! Designing amazing skirts for women with waist sizes 30-42 inches they fill a much needed gap in the market.

With a focus on well-made garments at affordable prices, proudly handmade in Australia they create the most adorable and twirtastic apparel that is a joy to wear, style and even able to be machine washed!

About the skirts:

Betty Le Bonbon skirts have been hand crafted to look beautiful and flattering on all shapes and sizes. The waistband emphasizes the narrowest part of your waist, while the full skirt flows over the hips and derriere, accentuating your curves and giving you that wonderfully feminine silhouette so reminiscent of women of the 50s.

Now that's enough talk lets see a skirt!!!

The fact that you can order by your waist size for these skirts means you get a spot on fit. I'm wearing the 33 inch in this style and it is perfect! I opted to go for the black and white style as my first skirt as it will match with everything in my wardrobe. The waist band fits perfectly and I've added my own waist belt to define my shape even more and create that proper 50's silhouette.

The polka dot print just pops and I love how this fabric drapes naturally on its own. Now this is the kind out outfit I would wear out on the town and I would even add petticoat underneath for a little more shape and flair. If you were looking for a more casual way to wear this I'd suggest ballet flats and a cute tank or tee in similar colours, even bobby socks if  you have them!

I adore this skirt and I think I need to start a collection in all the different colours with red and white polka dot being the first on my list.

Althought they focus on 'inbetweenie' sizes they are happy to do custom skirts for bigger/smaller sizes with a 3 week turn around on sizes that fit outside of their range.

While you pick up a super cute skirt you can also get some brilliant accessories from Betty Le Bonbon. I'm loving the brooches and waist belts!

Black Patent Bow Belt - $14.00

Haunted Housewife Dress Review & Sneak Peak

I waited so many months for this dress all the way back to August when I showed the Fall/Spring preview so when I got word that it was online I bought it asap. I had been hunting for the last year for the most perfect shirt/swing dress and what luck Micheline Pitt had already created it.

This my lovely readers is now my favorite dress in my closet!

The Haunted House-wife Dress in Black Stretch Sateen with White Piping and white skull buttons - Could this be any more perfect? I am wearing an XL (sizes come in XS-2X) and its a perfect fit! It fits snugly but still has a little give. The arms are very fitted and have a small amount of stretch. If you own the Doris Top in an XL you will fit just like me in this dress. This dress is also made in Red with Black piping!

Skull Button Detail

It fits like a glove and really makes you feel fantastic, I've worn this out a few times and even on Christmas day, the full skirt cam in handy when I pigged out!

It actually comes with a matching belt but I'm not a fan of skinnier belts with my waist line so I took one of the many black belts I have from my other Pinup Girl Clothing dresses and I think it goes perfectly.

Teamed up with my Glamor Guts Pumps from Iron Fist Australia $112AU which I think match perfectly.

I also can't control my urge to twirl when I'm wearing this stunning dress.

I only got this a week before Christmas but sadly they have all sold out in both colours black and red. But if you add yourself to the waitlist they will email you as soon as they get more stock in. Myself and so many other girls were watching Pinup Girl Clothing's facebook page so we all snatched them up very fast.

Though sadly this dress has sold out you can add yourself to the waitlist so you can snap this dress up as soon as it returns. They also offer two other dresses that have a simular style that I adore just as much as this design.

The Birdie Dress :

in Royal Blue $118US

in Peacock Print $118US

Today Pinup Girl Girl clothing uploaded a sneak peak of new styles that will be arriving by the end of the month here is a sneak peak :

The Audrey Skirt in black and pink, I've been looking everywhere for a good swing/circle skirt so I can't wait for this to come out. This is teamed up with the Pinup Couture Boat Neck Top.

The Pinup Couture Gia Top - Wardrobe staple in lots of colour choices, I love the white and red most of all. Perfecly paired with the Pinup Couture Pencil Skirt in Black & White Pin Dot Sateen

The Doris Top - I can't put into words how amazing the fit is on this stunning item. Now a new colour to add to the collection, green always wins me over. Pinup Couture Pencil Skirt in Black Cherry Sateen is also super cute, i'm not a fan of cherries but it matches perfectly with the new doris top.

Thank you to my blog photographer Micheal Alesich from Lucky & Rice.
