Vivien of Holloway

Finally I have the absolute pleasure of featuring a brand on Curves To Kill that I've loved for years but never had the chance to review/wear! I've admired Vivien of Holloway for years now but until this year I've never slipped into their garments, now I'm grumpy I've missed out on these rocking styles for so long!

Vivien of Holloway have absolutely perfected the halter neck dress. Be it a wrap wiggle style or a full skirt they have designed a flattering, well structured and perfectly tailored halter that is leagues above the rest. Why? It's all about boning! The boning supports (no need for a bra in this style), holds you in and the fabric has a little give so it will mold to your shape after one wear. I was sent two size options for this review. I originally opted for the 42-34-46 size (which once it arrvied I noticed was listed as a 20) and then I was told I should try the size lower (tagged as a 16 but the stats are : 40-32-44)  as it would mold to me. The larger size was easy to zip and and fit from the get go but after wearing the smaller version for a while it did exactly what I was told it would! The fabric gave a little and the fit was much tighter and even better for my bust.

I loved the dress that much that I went straight back onto the website and to make a lust list of other prints. One of my favourite features of this halter neck style is that it does not pull at the back like most other necklines. They can put too much weight on the back of your neck and by the end of an evening you are in pain. These are thick and perfect! Plus if you have any issues with your underarm area the strap is that thick it hides such things!

I opted to get the matching bolero with this dress as I can't get enough of the retro shape. In an XL it's a perfect fit and looks amazing with the dress. You can get solid colours and more prints in this bolero style and can mix and match all of them. I'd love to get a few more boleros and pair them with this dress or solid coloured dresses to pair with my bolero.

This dress is a must have if you love a halter neck but worry about your bust and want to go braless without a fear. If polka dots are not your style well don't fear! The fabric options are amazing at Vivien of Holloway and I've already added the a few to my lust list.

How lush are these colours and prints? I'm also lusting hard for the stunning gypsy tops available in so many different colours. I live in this style over the warmer months and this is on the top of my list.

Many thanks to the beautiful Brooke Orchard for snapping these images at the stunning and iconic Carlton Gardens. I can't wait to see her again and create more art!!

Kat Frankies!

You might have noticed a the last few months that I've been addicted to super sparkly earrings from Kat Frankies and all of their other amazing accessories. I only found this little pinup/vintage mecca late last year but it's now my go to online store for a little bit of everything!

From jewelry, hair scarves, clothing, petticoats, makeup and more you will find anything and everything on their website. I'm currently smitten over the Demi Loom tops they stock which are on sale!

Now as a girl that's not afraid to show a little skin and a whole lot of cleavage I adore a good 3/4 low cut boobie top and the Pinup Top is perfect for my hour glass shape. The plunging sweetheart neckline and rouched section in the middle makes a brilliant shape and suits larger busts perfectly.

I opted to get a plain black version and the stunning whiskey rose print. Both suit my collection of swing and pencil skirts and look great tucked into super high waists. But due to my hourglass hippy shape they are a little too short to wear with high waisted jeans.

I'm wearing this style in a size L/XL and I found it to be a perfect yet skin tight fit. If you want a little more room of need a little more give then there is also a 2X/3X option available. They are super stretchy and hug my curves in all of the right places but size up if you are worried about the stretching of print etc.

There are a few more stunning colour options and prints available online right now!

I definitely need the Dexi Dot version in my life as I love the lack and polka dot combination and the Electric blue is stunning. So be sure to check out the Demi Loon range and more of what Kat Frankies has to offer. I'm loving their huge range of Erstwilder brooches at the moment and they have the new season stock! I've currently got my eye on 2 stunning Lindy B dresses and more Stardust confetti earrings so I best start compiling a lust list.

Many thanks to the brilliant Brad Blake Photography! Not only is he a talented photographer but a brilliant baker (mmmm chocolate cake memories) and I hope to work with him again this year!

Oh Honey Hush

This week I'm very pleased to share with you my lovely readers my favourite Hair Scarf shop on Etsy! Oh Honey Hush is the only store you will need for hair scarves and bows - trust me you will be spoilt for choice.

I shot my 4 stand out favourite scarf designs with Julz Photography and paired up with Cherry Bombshell Beauty for makeup. These styles are so simple to wear and there is not fiddly knots, detailed bows etc. Just wrap and tie then you are done - Simple!

I'm absolutely smitten with this navy blue based floral print. That much so I need to hunt it down and get a dress to match this scarf.

The mixture of a dark blue with red roses creates a bold and stunning fabric and it pairs wonderfully with my hair colour. This is the larger style scarf and with one knot the bow is big, full and looks fantastic.

Another large bow style scarf but this time in an awesome vintage comic print. Look close and you'll see Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man and more! This print is so bright and colourful and a must have for any comic/superhero lover.

The last of the larger style bows in the classic black with white polka dot print. This is the most versatile of the 4 styles I've tested and it matches with pretty much all outfits.

The classic retro pinup print looks amazing and I've been looking for a smaller dot style like this for what seems like forever! I hope this comes out in different colour ways!

I think it's safe to say that I was not going to order a bunch of retro and fun prints without sneaking a gingham style in to complete the set! I chose red to match both my Pinup Girl Clothing Red Doris top as worn in this shoot and my new Heart of Haute Ellie Tie Top

The reversible fabric offers two different ways of wearing and styling this scarf - two for the price of one!
This is a more slim and thinner style scarf almost more of a bandanna with the pointed ends. This also comes in black and green.

So after wearing these lovely accessories I'm completely sold on Oh Honey Hush and want a billion more of her amazing hair accessories. Up next on my hair scarf lust list from her store are :

You can find all of these items listed above via the Oh Honey Hush web-store on Etsy. You can also follow all of their amazing work on the following social media sites - Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram (@oxohhoneyhushx)

A little Viva

Now while I'm setting up shoots, organizing lots of awesome new stuff and waiting on my photos from my US trip I just wanted to do a really small post showing you just a hint of what I wore at Viva Las Vegas.

I was lucky enough to have the brilliant Stop Staring Clothing sponsor me for the even and I got to wear 3 of their amazing garments. I've shown 1 dress bellow but I will be shooting the rose dress and two other HOT styles in the studio over the next 3 weeks giving you the full run down of fit, sizes and fabric!

But for now I hope you like my little sneak peak, hotel hopping, mirror selfies!

Before the even was in full swing we headed out to the first night of shopping, pre meet ups and the PUG party. This was my go to dress for such a busy evening. The perfect skin tight little black wiggle dress. I will be shooting and reviewing this in the hounds-tooth shortly as they are my instant favorites!

An adorable gingham tie up top (my new obsession) was picked up on the Thursday evening at My Baby Jo's huge stall in the New Orleans. This was my daytime outfit and was so comfy, easy to wear all day and terribly cute! I wish I had of picked up all of the colours.

The skirt is my classic pencil skirt from Wheels & Dollbaby and the belt just one of my many.

For the Friday I wore this stunning rose print wiggle dress. The soft fabric really hugs you firmly and the shape is classic, feminine and a dream to wear. With the simply addition of my red sheer head scarf tied in a bow this outfit was a hit!

The for the Car Show I chose to go for another item I picket up on my earlier shopping trip and do a little greaser chic look! This jumpsuit is amazing!!! So comfortable, so cute, easy to style and wear - as you can see I just added a neck scarf and a waist belt and I was ready to rock! I'm wearing this in an XL.

I'm already looking forward to wearing this with tights in winter and layering it to work as a non pinup style.  As it's rather short I opted for some nude fishnets with back seams to give my legs a little more pop! This style also comes in red, leopard and a denim like blue.

I had an absolute ball at Viva this year. I was great to finally meet so many of my contacts from the scene, shoot with brilliant photographers and meet some amazing new people.

A little Sourpuss

Finally another post featuring one of my favorite alternative brands Sourpuss!

Photobucket

Perfectly paired together this very funky nautical inspired cardigan and tux tank are a match made in heaven! Black and red (a lot darker than shown in this images) are always perfection in my mind and I love the styles of these two items.

With a sparrow knitted into the fabric, matching cuffs and a large back motif this is a brilliant winter cardigan that will rock with skinny jeans and pencil skirts.

Photobucket

I'm wearing these two items in the XXL but they absolutely swim on me. The stretch in the tank top is very forgiving so could have gone down a size or two. The cardigan is also a little loose fitting and I think my safe be from now on is to go with an XL in all styles in the Sourpuss house brand.

The Chloe Tux Tank also comes in Black and white and a stripped fabric with a contrasting black tux insert.

Now what would match better than one of Sourpuss's super cute hand bags. As soon as I saw this style I had to have it in my life. As a proud whiskey lover I absolutely adore it! This is the perfect small clutch sizes purse great for taking out in the evening when you don't want to lug around everything.

My shorts and stockings are for another post coming up very shortly!

Thank you to the awesome team from Lucky and Rice for their help with shooting this post! You two are brilliant!

Love From Pixie

For years I've loved the classic pinup updo/bandana combination but I've never really been able to perfect it.  Well so I thought until now!!

Love from Pixie is a hair accessory range available at Pinup Boutique and they have created the no fuss, stunning and simple to wear range of bandana's. Made from adorable cotton fabrics and features a wired bow so you don't have to worry about getting it tied perfectly, it will stay put all day long!

Photobucket

Red Polka Dot Bandana- $15.00

My stand out favorite as the polka dot print is adorable. Now all I need is a top, cardigan and dress to match up with this headband.

Photobucket
White Bandana - $15.00

Some classic colours and styles to suit just about everything in your wardrobe. White for nautical outfits and pastels.
Photobucket

Black Bandana - $15.00

The black the core shade to suit pretty much everything you could possibly wear. I wear black mostly so this  one is perfect in my collection.

Right now you can also find leopard, pink gingham, red or black polka dot and cherry print with lace trim. Just check out the Hair Accessories page.

For these shots I did a simple hair style many small victory rolls/curls all over my head but leaving room for the bandana to sit flat at the front. You can also wear your hair down with these headbands (just fold the largest area over in half) and with a high pony tail.

Eldorado My Love

When I discovered Pinup Girl Clothing I naturally discovered the awesomeness that is Eldorado Club Jewelry and it's brilliantly talented designer/creator - Joe De Blois.

Joe has created the most quintessential line of accessories that pairs beautifully with all pinup styles. Matching Pinup Couture, Deadly Dames and Laura Brynes Black Label in every way.

So recently when I was doing a photo shoot I slipped in some of my ECJ collection to show in all its glory. My amazing team for this shoot was Julz Photography and Makeup By Sam. They are an absolute dream team and packed full of creativity and talent! I can't wait to work with these girls again.
