Billie Jo Retro

While shopping on the Friday at Viva Las Vegas earlier this year I stumbled across Billie Jo Retro. I was on the hunt for something to wear for the car show and as soon as I saw this adorable jumpsuit, I knew it had to be mine!

I've always adored jumpsuits but I've never found one that fit me 'just right'. Some are too short in the torso, others too long - but as soon as I slipped into this style in a size XL, I knew I had found my suit.

The shorty is inspired by Rosie the Riveter and is my must-have summer staple! Featuring a metal zipper, short sleeves, side pockets and made from a soft cotton spandex, it is an absolute dream to wear... and you can pair this with every belt in your collection.

My go-to outfit with this suit is back-seamed black stockings and heels but for this shoot I wanted to show the Jumpsuit on it's own and paired with simple black accessories. The fit is amazing, I feel so confident and curvy when I wear this outfit.

I knew when I picked this black version up that I'd be starting a life long addiction to this specific style of romper. The Shorty Mechanic also comes in Leopard, Indigo and Red, all of which I need in my wardrobe for the summer. Now I'll need to save up and get the whole collection and wear nothing but these all summer long.

My mother has already set her sights on this and wants to wear it out constantly. I love that even though I wear it in a very pinup way that she can pair it with her more modern styling and create a whole new look. She now has one of her own so there is no stealing to be done!

Many thanks to the extraordinary and beautiful Jaimie Nicole  for her all of her hard work and time helping me out with this shoot. I'm blown away by the results! If you are in Melbourne you need to book Jaimie ASAP!!

I also need to thank Bobby McGee's again for letting us use there amazing and unique venue which is retrotastic! For parties, wedding receptions and photo shoot locations this is your go-to vintage inspired location!

A little Viva

Now while I'm setting up shoots, organizing lots of awesome new stuff and waiting on my photos from my US trip I just wanted to do a really small post showing you just a hint of what I wore at Viva Las Vegas.

I was lucky enough to have the brilliant Stop Staring Clothing sponsor me for the even and I got to wear 3 of their amazing garments. I've shown 1 dress bellow but I will be shooting the rose dress and two other HOT styles in the studio over the next 3 weeks giving you the full run down of fit, sizes and fabric!

But for now I hope you like my little sneak peak, hotel hopping, mirror selfies!

Before the even was in full swing we headed out to the first night of shopping, pre meet ups and the PUG party. This was my go to dress for such a busy evening. The perfect skin tight little black wiggle dress. I will be shooting and reviewing this in the hounds-tooth shortly as they are my instant favorites!

An adorable gingham tie up top (my new obsession) was picked up on the Thursday evening at My Baby Jo's huge stall in the New Orleans. This was my daytime outfit and was so comfy, easy to wear all day and terribly cute! I wish I had of picked up all of the colours.

The skirt is my classic pencil skirt from Wheels & Dollbaby and the belt just one of my many.

For the Friday I wore this stunning rose print wiggle dress. The soft fabric really hugs you firmly and the shape is classic, feminine and a dream to wear. With the simply addition of my red sheer head scarf tied in a bow this outfit was a hit!

The for the Car Show I chose to go for another item I picket up on my earlier shopping trip and do a little greaser chic look! This jumpsuit is amazing!!! So comfortable, so cute, easy to style and wear - as you can see I just added a neck scarf and a waist belt and I was ready to rock! I'm wearing this in an XL.

I'm already looking forward to wearing this with tights in winter and layering it to work as a non pinup style.  As it's rather short I opted for some nude fishnets with back seams to give my legs a little more pop! This style also comes in red, leopard and a denim like blue.

I had an absolute ball at Viva this year. I was great to finally meet so many of my contacts from the scene, shoot with brilliant photographers and meet some amazing new people.
