The Bone Brigade Are Back!

This year Erstwilder have blessed us with two spooky Halloween themed releases and I personally can't get enough of each and every piece. For release number 2, Team Erstwilder have brought back the Bone Brigade with a few new friends.

Last season I snapped up the kitten version of these skelly friends but this year I was immediately attracted to the Flamingo and Raven.

As a mad fan of all things pink flamingo related it was only logical that my next step would be to start collecting undead versions of this brilliant bird. This piece perfectly captures all of the brilliance of a flamingo with that adorable macabre vibe.

Seriously how cute is this little guy? Complete with golden crown this flamingo is divine and I can't wait to pair with each and every spooky piece from my wardrobe.

RIP RAVEN BROOCH - $39.95

My second piece and extra feathered (or featherless as the case would be) friend is the Edgar Alan Poe inspired Raven! I've been readying Poe's work since I was a wee kiddo and I've always loved how dark and spooky each and every poem is.

The Raven is one of the most well known and iconic poems from his collection and Erstwilder have capture this amazing creature in brooch form.

Complete with a little red POE novel upon his breast, this raven is by far my favourite piece from this release. Very fitting for an old goth/pinup like myself and a must have for all horror/Halloween collectors.

Which piece will you be snapping up from this collection?

Safari Chic

Erstwilder's latest release takes us to the deserts, tropical rain forests and vast savannas of Africa. The stunning Out Of Africa range features some of your absolute favourite African animals created in brooch, earring and necklace form.

This collection has created some of my absolute favourite brooches to date as they've created some of the cutest little critters.

When I first saw the Out of Africa range, I gravitated to so many different animals but after growing up on films such as The Lion King  a Warthog was top of my list.

This adorable young warthog reminds me of Pummba, and I'll be signing Hakuna Matata whenever I wear him as the creators of this brooch state - he's renowned for such a philosophy.

Again Erstwilder are rocking those adorable long lashes and look at that snout! It's so cute you just want to tickle it!

Zebra stripes have been a part of my wardrobe for many years so it's only logical that I also need a Zesty Zebra to add to my stripped collection.

What I love most about this piece is the unique design. For zebras or horses the mane is usually 100% attached to the head and sometimes gets rather lost in the resin or design. But the spare space between the two in this brooch really makes it pop.

Now I've paired these with a bold leopard print but when you wear this piece with solid colours it's even bolder and stronger.

I'm forever as sucker for a fox brooch and the Fennec Fox is one of my absolute most loved animals on earth. Those huge ears, soft pale fur and sweet little peepers make me swoon and I've always loved this little creature.

The little upside down heart feature around the nose and mouth is a super sweet feature and just look at those whiskers.

Erstwilder have created the perfect version of the Fennec Fox with Finnicky and I'll be wearing this piece non stop.

Plus for the entire month of August they will be donating $2 from the sale of every design within to the African Wildlife Foundation! Reasons like these plus many more are why I absolutely adore the team at Erstwilder HQ.

Rebel Love

For the last few months I've been stalking Rebel Love Clothing on social media but I had no idea if I could rock their stunning styles and fit wise I was stumped at what I'd actually need to wear. But with lots of help from the amazing girls at HQ I found out that I'm actually a size Large as the fabric choices offer a lot of stretch so size down if you are in between sizes.

So with that size in mind I've tried some items that you may not have seen me in before plus I'm even showing my arms. A shock I know right? I just loved the shape of one of these dresses so much I could not cover it up.

An unexpectedly festive little frock the Poison Apple Dress is a must have in any pinups collection. Made from a 90% Polyester 10% Ponte the fabric is much like a scuba and super stretchy, making this like a second skin and perfect for all year round wear.

The gathered skirt falls beautifully over your hips and nips you in at the small of your waist creating a really flattering shape. I actually found both the fabric and style of this dress really slimming and I hope more colour or prints are planned for the future. If this was available in solid colours I'd buy every single version.

A high neckline and print are usually a little scary for my super large chest but the fabric works well with stretch and there is no such issue with warping of the apple print. The short sleeve and skirt length make this a really cute and youthful dress and I love this as a casual work look and can't wait to layer this with all kinds of winter goodies next year.

The size Large fits like a dream and I don't even need to use the zip - it's that stretchy. Now this style did come with a thin belt but I wanted to pair this with a little bow waist belt. The black works well but bright red (as seen with the shoes) pairs even better.

Now this dress is a huge change for my usual sleeved styles and colour choices but I absolutely adore it! Pale purple has never graced my wardrobe but in the Wild at Heart style I'm loving it.

Featuring a full skirt, v-neckline, adorable ruffled and heart pocket details this is one of the most adorable dresses I've ever worn and I actually feel amazing when wearing this without covering up my arms. I'm usually so scared to show them as they are my most hated area but there is something about the close fit underneath the under arms which flatters and shapes me in all the right ways.

While my bust is a little large for the chest area it still works perfectly and can even be worn braless with great lift. The super stretchy fabric is perfect for a hot aussie summer and I'll be wearing this baby constantly. Much like the style above I'd love to see this in red and black and possibly a polka dot print.

I'm 100% in love with Rebel Love Clothing and I can't wait to get my hands on more garments. Currently I'm lusting after the following :

More classic wiggles and a stunning bright red swing. I need all of these and more on my body asap!

Many thanks to the amazing Liz for shooting these looks with me and for making me look good when I'm so far out of my comfort zone. Braving no cardigans might be a thing for me this summer.

Rockstars and Royalty

Australian based luxury label Rockstars and Royalty create the highest quality handmade and perfectly crafted range of customisable special occasion dresses and accessories. Perfect for special occasions, weddings - be it the bride or wedding party, R and R have you covered!

One of the best parts of shopping with Rockstars and Royalty has to be how customer focused the website is and how much personal detail goes into every item. After years of hearing how many standard labels just don't fit properly they have made the main focus fitting your actual body and not a general number on a tag. You are able to full customize fit, length, fabrics, and if you purchase a dress you never have to focus on fitting 'just your chest' or just your waist ever again.

Rockstars and Royalty focus on the right fit for your body shape which insures an amazing product that  you will wear for many years! The perfect fit and attention to detail make their garments stand out from most brands and with no real 'sectioning' of wedding or formal you don't have to be tied down to what you 'think you should wear' and can choose whatever your heart desires!

Luna Lace and  Satin Skirt - Prices vary between $507-$695AUD
Dita Cardigan in Emerald from Wheels and Dollbaby - $190.00 Sold out a few seasons back

As a red head naturally my heart desires emerald green and one of my favourite all time fabric/colour combinations has to be green under black lace. This was the combo of my wedding dress and ever since that moment I've wanted a glorious skirt in the same style to add to my collection. Rockstars and Royalty answered my prayers with the Luna swing skirt and I'm absolutely smitten.

I went for the full customization process to get the best end result for me. The process is so easy and straight forward. Providing visual references and easy to understand guides for what you will need and want. As you can see the finished product is pure magic so here's what I ordered :

Each feature I wanted was clearly shown and all colours were true to reality. I needed all the goodies on offer such as a bold black waistband and velvet bow and a petticoat - interestingly enough I did not shoot this wearing the petticoat but I will be wearing it in the future as it makes the emerald satin pop through perfectly. Why did I shoot this without? I wanted to show you my readers the natural fall and flow of the fabric. It drapes and hangs so effortlessly that it was too beautiful not to capture.

The lace featured on this skirt is absolutely divine with a very intricate and delicately designed pattern it really pops when placed over a bright shade like this Emerald satin. Because these items are completely customisable you can pick and shade and even some brilliant bright and sparkly sequin fabrics. Black lace not your style? Well they also offer ivory and offer images of each lace over all fabrics so you can see exactly what it will look like.

So if you are looking to create the perfect and completely designed by yourself wedding, formal dress, bow ties or skirt this store is the one and only location you will ever need. This would have been the store for my wedding dress if I had discovered this label only a touch earlier and having the ability to design both your dress and your wedding parties looks is such a stress relief.

I paired this look with my all time favourite Dita Cardigan from Wheels and Dollbaby, platform pumps and the most amazing Art Deco earrings from Reverefolie. This skirt is so stunning that you really don't need to over do it styling wise and I also love wearing it with solid black blouses.

Now as my husband does not like bow ties so I could not order him something magical in the same print but as I'm a cat crazy lady I ordered my little man Nacho his own kittie bow tie in the matching fabric combo and it is purrfect!
They are always happy to try and accommodate special requests around all the designs on the website. So be sure to shoot through a message if you are looking for both human and fur baby accessories.
Rockstars and Royalty have been absolutely amazing to you my readers and have offered an exclusive discount code for all of my Curves To Kill followers!!! The code is Teer10 for 10% discount of all orders. Valid until 11.59pm on 31st May so don't miss out of getting a great price cut on these amazing products.
Many thanks to the AMAZING Brooke Orchard Photography for working with me on these images. It's such an absolute joy to have one of the best vintage/pinup photographers back in Victoria!

Soda Pop

I've come to the conclusion that the world's best swing dress can be found right here in Australia by the extremely talented Pigtails and Pirates. With adorable prints, figure flattering shapes and some of the best tailoring I've ever owned, I'm forever smitten with their work.

Soda Pop Dress - $199.00

I don't think I've ever worn this much colour in my entire life but do you know what? I'm loving it! This adorable soda pop top printed swing style dress hugs my curves and really emphasises my bust and waistline. I wear a size 14 in this style and the fit is perfection!! The sweetheart neckline and swing skirt work their magic on my busty hourglass frame and I now want to have this dress created in each and every one of my favourite prints from Pigtails and Pirates.

One of the best features of this dress has to be the straps. They are thick, sturdy and hide bra straps with ease. I find most lightweight summer dresses can have flimsy straps that do nothing to hide my thicker Freya deco bra straps but these are perfect!

While I usually don't wear pastel colours I'm loving this mixture of blues, pinks and yellow. This print just pops and will make you smile every time you see it!

I paired this stunning frock with my seafoam bolero from Inspired Insanity and the colours pair so perfectly. I was at a loss trying to find a cardigan to wear with this dress but this colour seemed to complement the print and I think I need a pink and yellow version to wear with this in the future, or even mustard.

Now when you have an absolutely magical multi-coloured dress you need equally amazing shoes to match! The Unicorn pumps from Ellie match this dress to a T and I love how completely unique and fun they are. Featuring a super high heel and platform, white PVC base and upper with rainbow laces and pink bobbles these are the most fun shoe I've every worn! Plus they are so comfortable, as all of the Ellie pumps have a great heel to platform ratio and are super lightweight.
Wearing these has rekindled my love for this brand once again and I will be adding many more pairs in this platform and heel height. I wear a 10US in this style and they fit perfectly. The peep toe also gives you a little more room to move.

Many thanks to Rom Anthonis for these super cute images!

You give me fever

After many months of lusting after all of the stunning styles available at Starlet Fever, I'm finally able to review my absolute must haves from their current range! Now I've gushed about this brand before but after wearing their stunning garments I'll need to gush a little more! When wearing each of Starlet Fever's garments I feel chic and confident and isn't that what we all want in an outfit?

If there was one style of top I could wear for the rest of my life, it would a button up bow style blouse. I'm addicted to these kinds of stunning tops and the Antoinette Blouse in white and navy is absolutely gorgeous! From the super lightweight and silky soft fabric to the button up front and bow/tie feature it has absolutely everything I could want. Perfect for work or play and effortlessly graceful in its design, the Antoinette blouse is so chic.

Now my sizes for each item in this post may seem a little different, but I'm not going by the tag for these items - I'm focusing on the right fit for the right areas. As this is a button up style blouse I opted for an 18 and the fit around the bust is spot on. The waist is super roomy and flowing so it can look stunning both tucked and untucked, pairing this with both wiggle and swing skirts for work and over jeans for the weekend. The fabric is ideal for the hot summer we have coming up so I think a few more colour ways/prints will be needed.

Above are all the other colour/print options in this style : Amethyst,  Boysenberry, Green Floral and Smokey Blue. Can I have one of each please?

While the Antoinette blouse is perfect for the warmer months (but can be layered with cardigans) the Olive is the bees knees for those cooler days and is the perfect work staple! A luxurious knit with a high  boat neck, 3/4 sleeves and an emphasis on that perfect hour glass fit. I'm wearing the Olive top in a size 14 an the fit is amazing. It's very fitted but it's that perfect amount of tightness and I love the boat neck. It's always hard with my chest size to find high neck tops that don't make my bust look too huge but this style works perfectly.

I had to order both the black and red versions of this top as they suit absolutely everything in my wardrobe. I can't wait to pair this with wiggle skirts, all of my swing skirts and even high waisted black pants and jeans in an almost Audrey Hepburn style casual look. I can't wait to pair these with my Erstwilder collection of badges and statement necklaces!!

The Olive top is also available in a stunning leopard print fabric and a north sea blue shade.
With each top I'm wearing the soft and hip hugging Adelaide wiggle skirt. In a 16 it's super roomy on my waist so I'll be needing to take this in for a more 'super wiggle' fit but this is most likely due to dropping a few kilos in the last few weeks. So a 14 would be ideal but when you tailor a garment to fit it makes the fit even more spot on!

Many thanks to the brilliant Katherine Davis for shooting this and many more blog posts to come with me!! I absolutely adore shooting with Katherine and love finding stunning little locations in Bendigo. If  you need a photographer for fashion or your wedding be sure to contact her as she is amazing.

Oh Millie!

Have you discovered Zoe Vine yet? A British based clothing company inspired by vintage clothing and retro prints. They have made it their mission to produce quality garments and shapely silhouettes with a whole lot of vintage flair. Each garment has a timeless sense of romance and glamour that which was only seen on silver screen starlets of years gone by.

What drew me at first about the styles of Zoe Vine are the prints! The stunning selection of vintage florals in soft pastels and bright pops of deep red. The detail in each print is like a stunning piece of artwork and you keep finding more and more detail as you look closer.

There is one stand out favourite dress on the website and that has to be the Millie. A classically cut swing skirted style with design features to make a retro lovers heart melt.

Not only is the Millie a stunning shape but the fabric choices are absolutely breathtaking. The Hibiscus is the perfect floral mix or pale pinks, purples and greens and I just adore the softness of all these colours when combined. It's a little springtime picnic slash tiki wonderland. I also adore that these dresses were shot on my favourite wallpaper! I need this in my house.

The high neckline might be scary for a busty lass like me but the low v back helps accommodate the boat neck front. I also love the the gathered bodice and full pleated skirt as they create that classic hourglass shape. The Millie dress will have you twirling like crazy!

Now the hard choice has to be which print do I choose! I'm in love with both and love the uniqueness of both but I think the Hibiscus has won my heart. I can't wait to get my hands on this dress!

Vegas Dreaming

My husband (it's still so new to call him that!) and I have recently started to plan our Honeymoon and to make sure we save up for the time of our lives we are planning a year in advance to get the most out of our trip.

Starting in the US we are heading to LA, Vegas and San Francisco! We already know our accommodation and entertainment for each and every location but I'm already in 'what to wear' plan mode. Mary Blair collection items from PUG for our two days at Disneyland, lots of killer pinup outfits for evenings out and heaps of comfy traveling clothes for long road and plain trips. I think I'll be investing in a few more pairs of disco pants for this trip.

On this trip I'm really excited to hopefully set up some shoots with lots of great friends and companies while I'm in town. But what I'm really excited to do is go back to Vegas without a limp! A few years ago I headed over for Viva Las Vegas but 8 weeks earlier I had hurt my left knee so having lots of fun and painting the town red was not on the cards.

Well in 2016 I'm making up for it! I'm so excited to experience the US with my fella and it's his first time on US soil so it's all new to him.

I plan both seasons and years ahead at times - a girl's gotta save! So while in outfit planning mode I've been thinking of what I will need to add to my collection and wear while abroad. I'm focusing on Vegas as I have the rest of my trip covered with 80's of my pinup/casual wardrobe but for Vegas I'm going to go for a little more sparkle.

There are few outfits I'm lusting after right now and these will definitely be in my suitcase for Vegas 2016, well it would be wrong to waste them playing at a mobile casino instead. I missed out on a few experiences last time but with more time and funds I'll be making sure I get to stay and play to my heart's content.

My first outfit choice is for finally seeing Beatles Love at the Mirage with my husband and hopefully an amazing date night in and out of casinos. I adore the fit and stunning fabric of the Gilda dress and having owned the Gilda Gown I know how amazing this style is for curves. The perfect little red cocktail dress and the perfect outfit for a show, drinks and a few games of roulette. The deep wine velvet fabric needs a bold black shoe and I love the matte PU Bordello Teeze style for this outfit.

I did mention that I wanted to sparkle just a little, didn't I? I think the stunning Angelique Collar Necklace pairs perfectly with the deep red velvet fabric. The rich mixture of red. gold and green are perfect for my colouring

Then we will head off the strip and go straight to Frankies Tiki Room! I wanted to visit this iconic retro venue years ago but sadly I missed out. For Frankies, I need the ultimate Tiki dress and the Malibu Dress with matching bolero is one of the most figure flattering dresses I've ever owned. With a molded bust, faux wrap design and adorable bolero this is the perfect outfit to wear while we spend our night drinking amazing cocktails.

But the outfit does not stop there! The accessories are what complete this look and I don't want to take away from the print in any way. A bold tropical hair flower, some bamboo bangles and a killer red pump turn take this dress from simply stunning to a killer tiki look.

So there we have it! 2 days worth of outfits sorted for Vegas. Now to hunt for a day time outfit!
