Stocking Spotlight & Voodoo Competition Announcement!

Time again for another Stocking Spotlight featuring Voodoo Hosiery! This week it is the one stocking every woman can't live without - The Fishnet!

Voodoo Fishnet Tights - $10.17

Winter, summer, spring or autumn I wear fishnets all year round. Either on their own to create super sexy pins or over white or bright coloured tights to make a eye catching pattern. They are a core item in my wardrobe and I adore them so very much.

This style comes in One Size fits all and these fit me perfectly. With fishnets most figures can fit into them with ease as they have a lot of stretch and give. Every girl needs a pair of fishnets in her life be it this style, nude, colours or backseams. They ad an extra element of sexiness to every outfit.

I've paired these with my Luichiny Eyedoll Platforms because I'm so very addicted to them. I'll be doing a small update tomorrow showing you even more styles out from Luichiny!

Stocking Spotlight

It's stocking spotlight once again! A week late but this week I'd like to show you my all time favorite style of stocking. If you are a fan of sheer prints then you will love this simple yet stunning polka dot style from Voodoo.

Voodoo Chic Spot Tight - $11.45 (one sale!!)

Simple, chic and sexy. I've been looking high and low for a pair of sheer dot stockings that fit my curves and this style in the X-Tall are fantastic! They are not as high as I'm use to but as I've mentioned in other posts this is nothing a little shapewear over the top can't fix.

These are perfect for winter pinup styles, pencil skirts and dresses. You can can dress these down with flats or pair them up with some killer heels as I have done here. I'm head over heels with these stockings and I'll be ordering a few more pairs just in case I accidentally snag them.

I chose to pair these up with my favorite studded pair of heels from T.U.K. These shoes are brilliant and add that little element of rock and roll chic to any outfit. I've also got these in red and they are equally as hot!

Freckles and Ink - NSFW

On Sunday I had the chance to work with the most brilliant photographer I know, Peter Coulson.

He is currently shooting for an upcoming book entitled In My Pants which is created to raise money for cancer research. Cancer touches everyone and we have all been touched by it in some way be a family member, a friend or having it ourselves. You can read more about his project here.

Now after we had shot the image for the book I wanted to do something I've always wanted to do with Peter, I wanted to do a natural nude shoot.

I was a bit unsure if I should post these on here as it is a fashion blog but it's also a blog about me as a whole and under my clothing this is what I look like.

This is me and yes I have rolls and a tummy, I'm a size 16 and I look like every other woman naked. I had someone tell me this is what real women should look like but I don't actually believe that. I think real women should look extra small to extra large. They should be flat, fat, short, tall, curvy and straight up and down. Being human makes us real not the shape of our bodies.

For a few more shots head to Peter Coulson's Blog .

Studded Soul

If I was asked to choose one brand of accessory to wear for the rest of my life the choice would be easy - GMK

It's no secret that I'm completely in love with their brilliant leather, stud and jeweled creations and I recently did a small shoot to show off my new favorite items.

GMK Custom Choker
GMK Studded Cuff  -  Contact for price

How amazing are these? The cuff is made of beautiful soft leather with a mix of spikes and round studs featured on all over. I've been wearing this constantly either as a solo accessory or with one of my other GMK cuffs on the other wrist.

The first word that came to mind when I saw this Choker was - EPIC. This is by far the coolest item I have in my collection to date! It's so strong, bold and even more amazing when viewed in person. This is a real statement piece and  draws lots of attention so pair it with a little black dress for maximum effect.

I like wearing this paired with all black and leather jackets just to amplify its brilliance.

These two items are a match made in heaven!

All items are designed them GMK's founder and Designer Joanne Argiriadis. Each item is unique and the only one of its kind so when you purchase a hand made items from GMK you are getting something no one else will ever have.

To custom order your own unique pieces you can email info@gmk-exclusive.com or contact GMK here.

You can also find  GMK on Facebook.

Again I'd like to thank the fantastic Steve Pinirou who shot these images! I hope to shoot with him again before the month is through.

Also if you are interested to know the small tattoo on my wrist says 'Don't Panic' just one of my little Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy inspired tattoos.

Simply Effortless

Six months have passed since my last Simply Be review and to me that is six months too long.  I've gone for a few different items for my readers both in the warmer and cooler climates so hopefully you guys will love one, two or all items.

All garments from Simply Be in this review are a size 14UK.

Printed Playsuit - £40.00

I was asked recently if I ever wear playsuits so I thought this was the perfect occasion to show one off on the blog!
I was unsure of this item when I first saw the images online but the video put the cut and fit in a much better light than the product shots. I always look past how a garment looks online and to how I can style it to perfection.

This is a perfect summer playsuit as it's a light weight and soft viscose fabric. Now I would usually wear this with thigh black tights but I wanted to show you the length or the suit and how it works on my legs.

The 14 is a perfect fit across the bust, waist and hips and the fabric has very little stretch, if any at all. It ties up with a bow at the back or front of the garment in the same fabric but I opted to wear a black waist belt to break up the garment a little more. I know some curvier girls are not fans of prints such as this so adding a belt in a sold colour will add more definition to your shape and the garment.

I tend to wear them more so in winter than in summer unless it's just slothing about the house or the pool. So I'll be wearing this out now with super thick tights, boots and my new red trench coat!

I first saw this dress on the Simply Be's facebook and I wanted it straight away. The fit is a little different from what I'm use to as it is neither fitted or a-line from the bust down but I still think this is a fantastic frock. It's perfect to wear all year round either styling it as I'm showing you here or pairing it with tights, boots and layers in the cooler months.

The jersey fabric has a nice stretch and the garment is so comfortable to wear you'll not want to take it off.

How adorable is the print? Again I chose a printed garment but this time I opted for a larger print with a black base. I think this kind of print could be perfect for the office or just every day wear.

Did you notice my new Eye Doll Platforms? I've been sneaking them into shots but I wanted to give you a close up view of their brilliance!  I knew when I first slipped my foot into this style that I'd be addicted and that is exactly what has happened! I'm currently drooling over their new style very much like this called  More Of It in Orange and I'd love the Yellow Eyedoll's. Their Roll Call wedge has me swooning a little as well.

Now for something a little more suited to my Aussie readers.

Luichiny Fass in Ate Snake Print Boots - $98.95US

Now firstly I have to show you that this jacket is actually black and brown which is a really funky change from your usual PU biker styles.  It's a generous fit around the waist, bust and hips for a 14 which is great for layering and wearing thicker items this winter.

It has all the fantastic features you could want in a biker jacket - metal accents, chunky zips and pleating. At first I was a little unsure if I could rock a two tone jacket but it's gown on my big time.

I paired this with my ever so trusty American Apparel disco pants which are needing to be replaced! It will be a sad, sad day when I have to retire these amazing pants. I'm wearing the AA disco pants in a size Large.

Luichiny Fass in Ate Snake Print Boots - $98.95US

How funky are these boots? I think my disco pants and these snake skin covered awesome babies were meant for each other! These are so comfortable and really easy to walk in believe it or not. The brown and black snakeskin print turned out to be a perfect match for my outfit also.

These like all my Luichiny platforms are absolutely brilliant and compliment any outfit, sometimes even adding that missing or much needed element. This style also comes in black if your not willing to try the snake skin just yet.

Can't shop from your country?

For Australians who are wanting to pick up a few items there are many fantastic postage forwarding sites on the net that for a fee will give you an address to enter into the check out and forward on packages from stores that usually would not ship down here. Some even set up payment through paypal if you can't use your credit card.  For UK shops see - My-Uk-Mail and UK Brands Worldwide. For US - MyUS, USmail1 and US2Me.

Finally thank you to Michael Alesich from Lucky and Rice rocking all of these shots for me! Can't wait till we go shooting again and hopefully this time we won't freeze!

Stocking Spotlight

A super quick stocking spotlight before I head off to bed after an awesome weekend! While I've been focusing on the more sheer or netted stockings. I wanted to show you another awesome style.

Voodoo Carbonella or Romanza Stockings - Price $24.95

Sorry but I'm actually unsure of the name as I can't find these online anywhere! They are fabulous though and I will ask voodoo for more information about them tomorrow.

A simple black stocking, thick and soft with a intricate print (in net that seems sheer) to give them a little more attitude. I'm wearing these in my usual size of a Tall/Extra-Tall and they are perfect!  These are perfect for everyday where and will match so many skirts and dresses in my closet.

I paired these with my Coral Torrid high heels as I wanted the shoes and stockings to clash but in a good way. Having these two styles together I almost want a little black and coral mod dress to match!
