Burlesque Legs - Win a Trip to Broadway!

I recently came across a new brand of stockings called Burlesque Legs by Jonathan Aston. I noticed these in Myer but i was not sure if they would fit my thighs. Usually stockings can be either too small or not long enough and I know both larger girls have these issues as well as taller women. Burlesque legs were so very helpful and sent me a pair of thigh highs to test!

The pair I'm wearing are the Fishnet Hold Up Backseam and surprisingly they fit very well. They are stay ups so you can't wear them with garters sadly but they have the stick banding at the top of the stocking under the lace. They have a good amount of stretch and fit my chunky size 16 thighs with ease. They are long enough to pull right up to the top of my thigh and fit nicely and secure.

This pair is a size B/C which is the largest size I would not recommend them to anyone over a 16 though unless you have killer legs (contact me any time though for a list of 2x plus size stockings online)

Pair these up with black pumps and a pencil skirt, the gold backseam adds so much more to the stocking - very pinup, very very burlesque.

Please excuse my phone photography and lack of back view I don't have a digital camera with me at the moment!

Bring on 2011

What are your dreams/goals/resolutions for 2011?

I feel I did not put enough effort into achieving my goals over 2010 and that I failed a little more that I would like to over this past year. But we have a new year about to dawn on us an I'm excited to see what possibilities are ahead.

So for 2011 these are my following goals :

1. The most important of all - Walk in Full Figure Fashion Week NY its my dream! I've done many things I'm proud of when my modeling career but this would be the cherry on top for me. Now I have to make this happen which will involved finding sponsors to get me over to do this and a label to represent.

2. Live abroad - Destination New York! I have the connections all I need is to get over there!

3. Make this blog 1000 times more interesting with more outfits (I need to get a camera and find more photographers to help me out more often), more giveaways, competitions, more variety and get more behind the scenes information about clothing lines etc.

4. Make a little money off my blog and put it straight back into this page. I need to get Curves to Kill a URL and a personalized email.

5. Loose 6 more kilos for a total of 14!

6. Be involved in more blogger events!

7. Just to be proud of myself.

So my goal revolved around my blog, my modeling and my bod! What are you going to make happen for 2011?

Size Matters!

****Thank you everyone for your input and help, I have forwarding on all the information and the plus range is in the works. I'm not sure what sizes they will be but I'm so excited****

Jessica Louise Clothing - Too cute for words! I've admired this brand from afar for many years but I've always sighed thinking I'll never fit into a garment though I could slip into an XL, but where does this leave girls over a size 12US?

Well I'm wanting your feedback and help! Many designers would be happy to expand their size charts but they need feedback to figure out what sizes to go to and what styles would be suitable or popular for curvier shapes.

This is what I would love to see in plus sizes :

Sailor Dress with a super high pair of black pumps - Killer Curves!

Pinup Keyhole Top - With a black high waist pencil skirt and backseam stockings!

Pinup Leotard I want this bad!! I have the most perfect high waist jeans that would look perfect with this!

So now its your turn to rack your brain and check out the site Jessica Louise Clothing link your favorite styles and what you'd love to wear. Give me all the feedback you can and even supply your measurements and height (you can email them to me if you are not wanting to post them online via my contact page). This company actually wants to know how they can help fuller figure women and its great to know that they are wanting to expand their sizes. The more feedback they get the more they can accommodate plus size figures.

Please either US sizes or measurements as every shop is so varied!!!!!!!! Please don't be shy.

Now go forth and look, reply via here or email me and tell me what you want! Lets make this possible and then shop like crazy!

Tee's Please!

I have a huge 'Tee' collection but I never wear them anywhere other than bed. Maybe its because of the unflattering shapes most basic band t-shirts have on the curvy figure.

Recently a friend of mine Bicho Maldito (‘Damned Bug’) asked if I would model some of his designs and being a lover to a fantastic illustrations I said yes straight away.

Marcelo Pérez Dalannays is graphic designer + illustrator from Chile, South America and is has some of the most funky designs I've come across to date!

Shorts from CityChic reviewed in this post Short Shorts.

The t-shirt shapes are form fitting and have a low cut neck or there are more of the basic style tee with the high neckline. Being a very busty girl I really love the lower neckline and shape of his products.

My favorite has to be the curvy devil girl on the blue tee, I absolutely adore her!!

I'm also wearing my favorite garment in the world now my new Skinny Zip Jeans by City Chic! I saw these on a fellow blogger and loved the style so I instantly went out and bought them. They are currently on sale for $44.95 online!

They are what I would call super skinny jeans, they fit me perfectly and are basically a second skin. The features are what sold me - the zips, the extra panel for fabric on the thigh and the slight distressed feel. I'm wearing a 14 but if you don't like your jeans super tight I would suggest wearing a larger size. They feel like they might now fit on when you get them all the way up you will be sold!

So please check out his work, designs and creations and if your after his fantastic tee's just contact him via his site Bicho Maldito

Review - Lucie Lu

When I first discovered the plethora of online shops for girls with curves Lucie Lu was one of the first sites I came across and I've always loved the the styles and the variety of stock they have.

From super cute dresses to great wardrobe basics they have great variety and individual size charts for each item.

So with local and international readers in mind I offer you both a summer and a winter option when shopping at Lucie Lu!

The Margeaux Dress-Pin Dot -$46.00US a perfect light weight summer dress with a faux wrap design. This is a perfect fit my my measurements and the cutest dress for summer made from a lovely rayon & spandex knit its soft and stretch.

The tiny polka dot print on the ruffles and ties is my favorite feature.

The Tatum Dress-Watercolor Lace $62.00US the Winter option. This dress is a very warm and thick 94% poly. 6% spandex fabric perfect for the colder months. The print and colour are so much brighter and bolder than the image shown online. There are two other fabric colour choices so if green is not you this dress is also available in either brown or grey.

It was a little loose around the middle but this is easily fixed with my thick waist belt from Jeans West. I have this issue a lot as I'm a size smaller in the waist than my bust and hips. This is why belts were created for a body like mine! This will be great in winter with thigh tights and boots and it zips all the way up to the top of the neckline i just liked it more when open a little.

My current favorites on Lucie Lu, I need them all :

Lace Party Dress-Nude $78US - The ideal part dress
Military Shrug - $26US - Buttons are my weakness, I need a shrug like this
Veola Top - $29US - Wardrobe basic with something extra on the bust.

Simply Brilliant!

Today I had the chance to model and review some amazing garments from the UK and US based companies Simply Yours and Simply Be!

These amazing stores carry everything a huge variety of products from fashion, shoes, accessories and more but in this post I will be showing some of the range from shapewear to bras.

Because I have readers in many countries I will list the link for the UK site and the US site under the items.

For Australians who are wanting to pick up a few items there are many fantastic postage forwarding sites on the net that for a fee will give you an address to enter into the check out and forward on packages from stores that usually would not ship down here. Some even set up payment through paypal if you can't use your credit card. For UK shops see - My-Uk-Mail and UK Brands Worldwide. For US - MyUS, USmail1 and US2Me.

So today we packed our bags and drove down to my family farm to shoot some great images of these lovely pieces. Mother Nature was nice enough not to make it rain giving us just enough time to make the most of the location. My photographer for the day the super talented Katherine Davis who I've wanted to work with so long was an absolutely pleasure to work with!

I'm wearing a size a UK16 in all bottoms and a 38DD UK in bras everything is a perfect fit.

Gok Wan'a Balconette Sassy Slip - £28.00 (UK only) This fits like a dream and holds you in tight. I like my bra's slightly more padded/push up but this has great support and the garters will look amazing with thigh highs. All Gok Wan bra's come with extra straps.

Gok Non-Padded Long Line Bra
- £22.40 with matching Deep Brief £9.00 (UK only) by far my favorite of the lot. The high waist on the brief is perfect for high waist skirts and the bra is longer than usual giving a little more back and side coverage. Its the perfect set!

Gok Wan's Balconette Banger Booster - £33.00 with matching Slicker Knicker £11.00 (UK Only) Wearing this i can honestly say I feel a little like a sex kitten. The shorts come in mid waist so there might be a little over hang but there are also a high pair online. These are so good at holding you as they have plastic boning and power mesh.

Naturally Close Control Body - Standard Length US Site - $58.00 UK Site - £32.00 I'm not sure if I'm wearing the standard or longer legnth but I think it is a little short for my torso. This is so comfortable though and the lace is so soft and pretty. With all the pieces above these can be converted into a halter which is great for summer dresses. I would have liked a little more push up in this style though, so I will look into some inserts.

Naturally Close Plunge Bra 2 Pack shown in Coral and Navy - US Site $23.00 UK Site £14.00

I adore the colours and love the details. These two plunge bras will be a staple for me now. They are comfy and create great cleavage.

This is the largest post I've written to date but I had to share everything with you guys. Give me your thoughts, feedback and experiences if you have worn any of these items.

Review - IGIGI

For a while no I have been looking longingly at IGIGI and admiring their stunning designs and large range of cocktail dress and formal attire.

With an expansive line for styles and beautiful fabrics they really are a non stop shop for any plus size woman.

Why are IGIGI different? They want to transform the worlds view of beauty, provide form fitting, flattering and fashion forward items, they use real sized women to model their garments and create unique garments.

I recently received the Francesca Dress in Royal Blue - On sale now for $127.50USD and the colour has to be seen in person! Delivery was so fast and when i opened the box I found my dress on a hanger and protected by a plastic garment bag in a sturdy box.

This dress is beautiful made and the neckline is can be worn either over the shoulders or slightly off to make the garment more sexy. Click on the images for a larger version.

I ordered a size 12 but with my odd measurements it fits perfectly everywhere but the waist and under bust this will easily be fixed by my tailor next week. The fabric is very stretchy and could accommodate a size or two size larger in this style dress due to the open skirt. The arms are form fitting but due to the stretch they are very comfortable. It may be a little big on me but I love and trust tailors.

This is a very sexy cocktail dress, I now want one in black so i can make the most of this amazing neckline. If you want to accessorize wear waist belt in black just bellow the bust and bring a completely different look to the dress.

Igigi are a really helpful and great store they know their customer and try to make the shopping experience as easy as possible. They even have a Shape Stylist online and a shape calculator so you can find out exactly what shape you have.

They recommend with every dress what body shape it will suit so it becomes so easy to find the perfect dress.

I'm aware that i have an hourglass shape and this style dress was recommended to me using the Shape Stylist. If you are not to sure about your shape this tool is really helpful. I have always gone by what i learn from Trinny and Susannah and this is very simular, they also tell you the do's and don'ts for your body shape which is so helpful.

This is the first of 3 sets of images I shot for upcoming posts so expect more reviews shortly!
