A little more Tutti!

While I'm still working my day job 5 days a week I'm very focused on spending my weekends safely settled inside. While loungewear and PJ's are my go to most weekends, there is a need for some amazing little body suits as well.

I've hit the jackpot recently with Tutti Rouge as they make the most amazing bodysuits perfectly designed for curves and big busts. Why does lounging about your home need to be boring? With these piece you can be comfortable and super sexy without any effort.

I had seen this piece on a few of my favourite curvy lingerie bloggers and wanted to see if my body could look anywhere as fab in this super strappy style.

Currently, I seem to have a slight obsession with intricately strappy designs and this piece is both super strappy and super sexy. I was silly enough to not look at the back of this product prior to ordering but to my surprise the strappy back is stunning.

I'm wearing this bodysuit in a size XL, and I find the fit very true to size. The bra closer as the back is attached to super stretchy elastic so it really fits perfectly without digging in or making any bad back rolls.

The bust is not wired but I find that the support given is great. This might also be a great alternative to a standard bra when I wear certain plunge necklines.

More lace and net  - Gimme! Gimme! Another super soft and stretchy bodysuit but this style focuses more on a full mesh body and lace trimming.

Now as you can see from the bust in each bodysuit it's all about natural comfort. Being wire free yet supported by the straps and back closures really does add to the lounge/comfort factor of each piece.

I'm wearing this piece in an XL as well, and the fit is amazing. Soft and super stretchy so you'll not have anything digging into you or any uncomfortable straps. The navy blue shade is also completely new for me but I'm loving this shade with my complexation and hair colour and pairs perfectly with my Peter Alexander robe from many, many moons ago.

EZ T Bra in Mink - £20. 00

The new EZ T Bra is a fantastic style that has been created for everyday wear. Gone are the days when you were dying to get your boobie prison off at the end of a hard day. Brands like Tutti Rouge are creating pieces for us to actually enjoy wearing.

Now to find my sister size I actually trusted the brains at TR and my 36HH turned out to be equivalent to a 40G. This size with the very large back is not as firm the comfort level is sky high. IT gives a super round and high shape which looks amazing in most tops and dresses. I'm actually wearing this right now and it's pure magic. A wired bra that does not dig or make you feel like you want to take it off ASAP.

I'm wearing this on the tightest hook, and I'm so comfy, uplifted and just feeling fab. The fabric is silky soft as well so it's a joy to wear. I'm that smitten with this piece I'll need to order one in black and maybe another colour soon as I'll wear these on rotation all week long.

*Update* It seems that the lift and shape of this piece get lots of attention while merely walking down the streets. This is a mighty powerful piece!

WONDERLAND

This year ACMI and Dangerfield have collaborated on a stunning clothing range to celebrate the brilliant WONDERLAND exhibition currently showing at The Australian Center for the Moving Image or ACMI as it's known more fondly as.

If you've been living under a toadstool and have missed all of my social media posts then please let me update you about this amazing exhibition. Wonderland explores how this precocious heroine inspired revolutionary filmmaking, from groundbreaking special effects and animation to evocative storytelling and technological development.

A must-see event, take a trip through the looking glass into an immersive, enchanted world that draws together a remarkable selection of original behind-the-scenes material.

So if you are in Melbourne from now until the 7th of October you have to see this amazingly stunning immersive experience for yourself. I was lucky enough to attend on opening night and every little aspect has an element of magic. I won't go into too much detail because you'll need to see it for yourself.

For this post I'm sharing my favourite items from the Alice In Wonderland a collaboration between Dangerfield and ACMI shot by Brooke Orchard using the lush backdrop of the Geelong Botanical Gardens.

From the moment I was lucky enough to sneak a peek at this range I knew that I had to create a very stunning photoshoot to capture the whimsical prints and styles in this collection. We went way down the rabbit hole for this shoot so get ready for lots of images and Wonderland magic.

The Alice in Wonderland collection at Dangerfield comprises of 2 stunning print in skirt and dress form, 2 cardigans and two 3/4 sleeve tees. Given my body shape and own personal style I opted for specific pieces that would work best with my figure.

I'm 100% addicted to Dangerfield's knitwear collection so the White Rabbit cardigan was a must have. A stunning crop style with white rabbit embroidery on each lapel and 3/4 scalloped edge sleeves. I wear this style in a 16 which is my go to knitwear size for most of the labels at Dangerfield and it's super stretchy and soft to the touch. I can wear this buttoned up or open with out too much gaping as the fabric has heaps of give.

For this look I wanted to have a full rabbit them so I paired the cardigan with the Down The Rabbit Hole skirt.  A swing skirt, waistband, zip closure, petticoat with tulle to giving you that extra volume. The silhouetted border print of Alice making her initial fall into Wonderland is absolutely stunning and so intricately and perfectly designed. I wear this style in an 18 and the cotton has very little give so it's a snug fit.

Hitting just below my knees this skirt is the perfect length and shape and can be styled in so many ways.

For a full Alice feel I paired this look with a few goodies from The Costume Box which is my new go to store for everything party, costume or theme shoot related. A oversized Alice in Wonderland satin bow complete with pocket watch was the perfect accessory. Fully removable from the headband it arrived on you can wear this piece as I've shown or on your tails, as an oversized brooch or any way you so desire as it has a very large pin attached to the back.

The Costume Box also stock a great variety of standard and plus size stockings I've paired this look and the next with their plus size black and white stripe tights. These are a great fit on the legs but really don't go height enough for my liking. This is easily fixed by wearing a body suit over the top.

I also love the way these tights pair with my Queen of Hearts heels from Shoe Me! These were the perfect choice for this photoshoot and for my red carpet look at opening night. They work perfectly for both Alice and the Queen outfits and are so comfortable.

Now for a quick change! For a different look and a brighter pop of colour the next look was paired with the White Rabbit Pocket Tee. You know that rule that plus or busty girls should never wear horizontal stripes? It's complete rubbish and should be ignored! We look freaking amazing in a bold stripe and the White Rabbit tee is absolutely amazing for busty girls.

I'm wearing this in a 16 and I really love the fabric and fit. Stretchy, soft and super light so you can layer this under coats and cardigans throughout winter.  I opted to size down from my usual DF 18 as I noticed that it was more of a relaxed fit on the model and the smaller size hugs my curves perfectly. The long sleeve, almost bracelet length, is very flattering as well.

If you look closely you might see a familiar little fella popping out of my pocket. The same little guy from the cardigan has been hiding away on this tee! This might just be my stand out favourite look from this shoot so it was only fitting that I found another location and shot some more whimsical style images with a very special prop.

Last month  I had briefly wrote about the Wonderland High Tea my husband and I went to as part of the Wonderland Exhibition. Other than all the yummy treats and bubbles I fell in love with their tea settings. T2 and ACMI have paired and created the perfect tea party cup, saucer and teapot for the exhibition to brew and sip your T2 Wonderland Choc Berry tea with.  The delicate design and colours featured on this cup and saucer had me swooning and I had to have the set. Next I'll be returning for the custom Wonderland tea and maybe round 2 of the exhibition.

You might have noticed my amazing nails throughout this set. These were a custom order from Nightmare Nails an Australian based designer who makes the most amazing stick on nails in every shape, size and design possible. You can by directly from brilliant ETSY store or get a custom set made with your own idea and design custom made to your nail measurements.

For this shoot I was inspired by a Dark Queen vibe so I ordered a black and red ombre nail with crystal detailing much like these but in a medium claw shape. They are super simple to put on with the glue kit and never broke or popped off at any point. I could not stop looking at these sparkly stunners either. I can't wait to order more and plan themes for more photo shoots. My day job makes it hard for me to grow long or have acrylic nails but with Nightmare Nails I can have the nails of my dreams and never break them!

Clock props and Banner - CostumeBox.com.au

It's amazing what a few props and team of creative minds can do. I ordered a mixture of Wonderland themed items from Costume Box for this shoot without having a clear image of how we could use them in my mind. But this stunning tree spoke to us and with some perfectly placed clocks and a tea time banner it's the perfect setting for a Mad Hatters Tea Party! I love that a few pieces can create such a magical look.

Bunny Mask -  $4.99

There also seems to be some creepy white rabbit following us around. He's right behind me isn't he?

Queen of Hearts Crown and Matching Earrings  Miz Smitten Kitten - $TBA
Now we can't have a Wonderland shoot without the Queen of Hearts. At the opening of the exhibition I actually styled myself a gothic queen of hearts as this collection had not been released yet. But now I finally have my hands on the real Dangerfield Queens of Hearts look I was after.

My queen is a little more modest but still regal and funky, a modern casual take on her highness. Wearing the Mad Hatter Tee which features the Queen of Hearts peeking out of a tea cup on a black and white stripe cotton long sleeve top. The exact same shape and fit of the white rabbit tee so you can trust that it will be a perfect fit in a 16. This colourway and print is just as flattering and I can't wait to style this over the next few weeks.

Sticking with the darker shades I've paired this top with the Wonderland Tattoo print skirt. This tattoo flash print features potions, tea cups and even little Alices. Again I wear this style in an 18 and the tulle beneath this skirt is black. It's those little details like tulle to add more volume that make me love these pieces.

For a more regal and winter addition to the Queen's look I added the Twirl My Way coat in deep maroon from the current winter range at Dangerfield. This coat is not a part of the Alice collection but pairs perfectly with this look. I'll be going into full fit details and doing a full review of this coat and a stunning dress next week so I'll not go into too much detail here. But as a reference I'm wearing this in a 18.

Husband's Look
Lastly we have the ACMI Wonderland tees that are currently for sale at ACMI's gift shop and online store. With the same whimsy as the rest of the range Dangefield and ACMI have created 3 Wonderland theme unisex tees for you to snap up before or after the exhibition - or just because they are brilliant.

I wanted to show that these style look amazing on both men and women and the fit of XL's and Larges were perfect for both myself and my husband.

I'm wearing the Pocket Alice tee which features an adorable upside down white pocket on a red and white stripe tee. Alice is tumbling out of the pocket and it's super cute. The cotton has a little stretchy but it's not the same fabric as the 3/4 sleeve DF tees.

My husband is sporting both the Angry Alice and the Original Alice tees and I love how easily he rocks these with a simple black jean and plaid flat cap. The images work perfectly for a fella and I must say I'm a huge fan of men in a blue and white striped top. My husband also refused to take these off once the photo shoot finished so the Angry Alice tee is now officially his and I'm 100% ok with that as it looks adorable on him.

To celebrate this photoshoot, the exhibition and brilliant collaboration between ACMI and Dangerfield I have a discount code for you! Use TEER15 via the online ACMI store for a 15% discount on any of the Dangerfield  tees.  So be sure to snap these up while stocks last. This code will be active until July 10th but don't worry I'll have another one for you in a few months!

Many thanks to Brooke Orchard the brilliant woman behind the lenses for this set of images. I just adore Brooke and her amazing eye. She made absolute magic with me for this set and I can't thank her enough for creating this with me. Many thanks to my adorable hubby for modeling some garments as well. Maybe I can rope him into his and hers shoots in the future!

Levi's Know Curves

Last year I had a casting at one of the best names in denim - Levi's! I've lusted after this brand for years but I never tried their products out of that dreaded jean fear. You know that feeling when you try on a pair of jeans that are listed as your size but you can't get them over your hips? It's been a big fear of mine for years but Levi's have now come to the rescue with a Plus Size Range made for curves!!

While I wear a standard size 16 I find jeans are a hard item to wiggle my way into due to my hourglass shape. You either have way too much room in the waist and not enough in the hips or vice versa.  But from the moment I walked out of my casting I was so super thrilled with the fit and so very excited to see just how amazing, modern and perfectly tailored the styles were. My stand out favourite had to be the skinny leggings so I paired them with my favourite items and wanted to give you guys a full and detailed review.

Viva Las Vegas Tank Top

At my casting I tried on two pairs of skinny jeans and a denim jacket. From the moment I slid into the 310 I knew I was 100% invested in these brilliant skinnies. Made from stretch denim, these slip on like a second skin! The fabric is a mix of  81% Cotton, 17% Polyester and 2% Elastane.

Using a stretch midweight denim they are light without being to thin and have the added extra bonus tummy-slimming technology as they are a mid rise style. I always say that a mid to high rise jean makes the tummy flat and toosh look amazing.

These have a little room to give on me and this is due to the stretchy fabric. When you first buy a pair of jeans they should be tight enough that they will give a little and mold to your shape. If they are a little loose when you first slip into them then they will fall off you by the end of the first wear. These fit tight but have a little space around the waist. While I'd usually like jeans 'skin tight' these are so much more comfortable than any other blue jean I have in my collection so that extra inch or two in the waist makes these a dream to wear.

As a reference my usually jean choice for the last few years I've been wearing the American Apparel Easy jean in a size XL and I love the super high rise and feel but they don't live longer than a year in my hands. The 310 however feel like they will stay in my collection for many years to come and feel much more sturdy. These are a 'real' stretchy jean while the AA Easy Jean is more of a stretch cotton pant.

What I love most about these and what sold me from the moment I tried on each skinny style has to be the fit at the ankle and calf. The super tight fit on both these is what is lacking in most plus size or curvy based jeans. They give you too much space in the lower leg and I can't stand that! I want my skinnies to be that tight they are almost painted on and with the 310 I get that effect. Now can we have a black version please? I'm addicted to black jeans and will snap up every pair!

I also have the 314 Plus Shaping Straight Jeans in my collection in the shade Worn Blue but as I'm such a lover of darker colours I've get to find the perfect top to pair with them. Once I do I'll shoot and review this style as well.

Now the one thing I can't find on the Australian Levi's website is a size chart for the plus size range. I know these are a great fit and while I usually need an 18 in jeans or 16 or 14 in Aussie plus size styles I'm a little confused whether or not these are an Australia plus 16 or a US 16. Given that my waist is around 34 inches and my hips can be up to 44 inches I'd say they are close to the US listed 16 plus on the size chart. The measurement for the 16 on the US website is close to the size 34 it seems on the standard size chart.

Now I've recently reviewed a plus size 14 in jeans and now a 16 in another pair and I think the end result is this : it's all about fit when it comes to jeans and not about the tag. You have to try each style until you find the size you that fits you just right. If my US readers need a reference I wear a size 12 or 0 from Torrid so along with my measurements I hope that helps you guys in some way.

Many thanks for Michael Alesich for shooting these with me and making me into legs eleven!

Skirted

Have you discovered Harlow yet? They are an Australian based plus size retailer who are dressing curvy girls all over the world. I featured their amazing Scuba skirt in my last Sourpuss post and now I want to share with you, my readers, a selection of their rocking pencil skirts!

Harlow specialize in size 14 to 24 and make a large variety of styles for the modern curvy woman. Being that my taste is more retro than modern (then mixed in with a little punk rock on my casual days) I thought pencil skirts would be the perfect items to feature and review.

Now I'm wearing all of these skirts in a size Small which works out to be a plus size 16. I tend not to be able to fit into plus sizes because of the waist measurements, which seems to be the issue with most of these styles. The 16 has a waist measurement of 36 inches as listed on the Harlow size chart and I currently have a waist measurement of 33 inches (refer to my stats at the top of the page for specific measurements).

I found that some of the styles differed in size and fit and, due to the elastic waist, can fit both my size waist (might need a little tailoring on most) and even up to a size or two larger than me. That is in no way a design issue - I just seem to have this issue with most plus sizes. If they were in a smaller size, like a 14, I think they would all be perfect!

Snake Charmer Skirt - $69.95 (SOLD OUT)

This was the tightest fit of all the skirts and my stand-out favourite. The faint and funky snake skin print on black is fantastic.

The perfect go-to skirt for any occasion; be it dressing up or dressing down, paired with heels for the evening or flats for a more casual look. As you can see, this skirt is much looser than the previous one. I found that it was more loose on the waist and high hip than the lower half of the skirt.

The same style as the black skirt above and a very loose fit. I adore this colour so much but I will need to get this taken in a whole size smaller. In this shot and the one for the black skirt, I actually needed to hold both in at the back. But these are simple issues that a tailor can fix and most of the time I have to get items altered.

These pencil skirts are PERFECT for work and will be worn all year round. Paired with shirts, tees, cardigans and funky blazers these skirts are a great addition to your work wardrobe and can take you from day to night.

Stocking Spolight

Well this week it's not really a 'stocking' spotlight but we will let this slip by this one time.

This week I've tried something I've never really been into other than when I was in primary school - Leggings.

I'm addicted to tights to be honest I love the fit, the look, the feet and variety. Leggings I've never really bothered to get into as I've never had the need or desire to. But this weekend I thought what they hell and decided to try out one pair graciously given to me by Voodoo.

These leggings are super stretchy and comfortable. They can sit on your hips or waist and are a medium thinness. I'm wearing the Tall-Xtra Tall and they are a roomy fit more so down near the ankle and around the knees.

How amazing are my Luichiny Kar Tell boots? They are red HOT!!!! I'm in love with this style as it's basically a boot version of the Eye Doll platform that I love so much.

In the most perfect shade of red they match with so many colours in my wardrobe and look great with all my disco pants (shoot to come). I think I'll need to pick up the plain black version of these as well.

These boots also do amazing things for your legs - elongating and slimming you down.

The print is really cute and I love the choice of great toned leopard apposed to the usual brown and cream. The print however from a distance creates lines but I still love it. I wore these with a Black mini dress that hit mid thigh and it worked well.

But like stockings and tights I will only ever wear these under a skirt or dress as I really can't stand the look of short tops with leggings - You need more support, shape and thickness when it comes to pants - leggins are not such things. But this is just my own personal preference.

Bring on 2011

What are your dreams/goals/resolutions for 2011?

I feel I did not put enough effort into achieving my goals over 2010 and that I failed a little more that I would like to over this past year. But we have a new year about to dawn on us an I'm excited to see what possibilities are ahead.

So for 2011 these are my following goals :

1. The most important of all - Walk in Full Figure Fashion Week NY its my dream! I've done many things I'm proud of when my modeling career but this would be the cherry on top for me. Now I have to make this happen which will involved finding sponsors to get me over to do this and a label to represent.

2. Live abroad - Destination New York! I have the connections all I need is to get over there!

3. Make this blog 1000 times more interesting with more outfits (I need to get a camera and find more photographers to help me out more often), more giveaways, competitions, more variety and get more behind the scenes information about clothing lines etc.

4. Make a little money off my blog and put it straight back into this page. I need to get Curves to Kill a URL and a personalized email.

5. Loose 6 more kilos for a total of 14!

6. Be involved in more blogger events!

7. Just to be proud of myself.

So my goal revolved around my blog, my modeling and my bod! What are you going to make happen for 2011?
