Oxblood

For what feels like an eternity I've been lusting after the La Femme En Noir Palazzo Pants. The wide leg, effortless drape and stunning shape have made me drool but until now they had been missing from my collection.

But from the moment the Bishop Sleeve top was released I knew that I needed both of these amazingly tailored pieces in my collection and create one EPIC art deco style jumpsuit!

Drawing inspiration from the 1930s, this amazing blouse has an elegant balloon sleeve, plunging/boobtastic neckline, a fully lined bodice and a back zip. Each feature combines to create a form fitting, super flattering, curve embracing piece of perfection!

When this top was first previewed I knew I had to own it in every colour as it's perfect for a busty girl who loves to show off her assets and the billowing bishop pairs perfectly the lower neckline. I've always had a soft spot for this style sleeve as it's roomy, flattering on all shapes and sizes and effortlessly chic.

For this style I went with my standard 2XL and while the fabric is super stretchy - I could size down to the XL with ease, I find the bust seam sits perfectly in this size. If you are looking for a super tight and flattening fit then be sure to size down but I'm actually loving the comfort element of this in the 2XL. The fabric used in both the blouse and the pants is so light and soft you'll never want to wear any other items of clothing again - that almost as comfortable as your PJ's feel while looking very Hollywood glam!

Now let's chat Palazzo Pants! For years I was scared of this kind of pant until I slipped into my first pair and never looked back. If you have curves and usually stick to a cigarette style or a skinny jean I highly suggest you try the amazing flowing wide leg styling of a Palazzo pant.

They flatter your curves, skim over your hips and flow beautifully. I'm wearing the 2XL, and the waist is a perfect fit with a little room to move and lots of space to tuck the bishop sleeve blouse and other tops. They have a massive sweep and are made of a light weight yet durable flowing crepe fabric that is fully lined so you will be comfortable all day long in these.

Oh and did I mention these babies also have pockets? They have super deep lined pockets that don't distract or take away from the design of the pant. So many pockets tend to pop out on my hip or look a little odd as I'm super hippy but these keen that flowing shape.

I absolutely love the look of these two pieces teamed together, and how they create a flattering and stunning jumpsuit feel. I think I'll need to snap up the black version of both pieces and create the same look once they are back in stock. But for the Black Bishop Sleeve blouse I'll opt for the XL as the seam does not get seen as much in that colourway.

These two pieces were snapped up at Natasha Marie Clothing, and they are the biggest and best online stockists for Vixen and La Femme En Noir designs. If you are on facebook but sure to like their page and join the Lounge to get information regarding restocks, upcoming items for preorder, etc.

Lets not forget the stunning Miz Smitten Kitten Halo crown! I've actually got more shoot plans for this epic piece but had to pair it with this jumpsuited look. Von always knows exactly what I want without me even showing her!

Torrid & T.U.K Review

To follow up my last Torrid giveaway I wanted to showcase some of my favorite pieces in a shoot. I have a few more items to showcase but that will be later on in the month.

Torrid I've found are really great for denim, I love my skinny jeans like crazy so I wanted to share these brilliant black jeans.

Trip Black Skinny Twill Pant (sizes x-short - x-tall) $48.00US

Perfect fit, lots of stretch in the fabric and they very smooth and soft. I've had my eye on these for so long and I now live in them! What sold me originally is the tiny little skull detail on the pockets - small skull rivets are featured throughout the jean.

Rivet Detail

These come in 4 different different leg lengths for all heights - how fantastic is this! I'm wearing these in a size 12 and a short length (they were sold out of my regular leg length) I will need to get a longer leg shortly as they are a little to short for my liking. The are a mid rise which is great.

I'm wearing the Black Platform Pumps - $57.00US from the DIA DE LOS MUERTOS by T.U.K. The studded clog like base is my favorite look at the moment and these are so very comfortable for a high heel platform. I wore them to a fashion parade, after party and roamed around the city for hours in these shoes and did not hurt my feet in any way. I love the tear drop cute out pattern and the adorable little Tiki head on the inside of the heel. These also come in a hot pink which I will be ordering asap. These will also feature in my next post, that's how much I love them!

I then pair the jeans with this stunning floral wrap top in a size 0, its a very loose, comfortable fit. Its more suited to summer here in Australia as the fabric is very lightweight but I wanted to show just how cute it would look with the jeans. I tied it in front with a bow but it also looks really good with a chunky black waist belt.

Finished off with my favorite necklace right now, I love anything that features a deer/buck head and this necklace really stands out with the addition of a little bling.

Torrid Denim - Highwaisted Cuffed Shorts - $38.00US

Finally I have a pair of blue denim high waited shorts! These are just as perfect as my black pair from City Chic. Like most of the torrid branded stretch denim these are really comfy, fit perfectly and when worn with heels look fantastic! The do really loosen up after a full day's wear though but I fixed this with a wash and tumble dry. I'm wearing these in a size 12.

My last outfit is my a mixture of the exclusive Lucky 13 range available online only and the regular Torrid line.

Charcoal Benglaine Pencil Skirt (only avaliable in black now) - $19.97
Lucky 13 Bow off Shoulder Top (shown in white, size 0 left) Black available here - $48.00

Sadly these colours are not online anymore (the skirt was a sale item) but they do have both items available in black. When I saw these two items I already had this outfit in mind. I could have a closet full of pencil skirts and still add more as they are perfect to dress up or down. This style has a deep pocket on each hip but as you can see it does not change fit or shape in any way. This style came with a waist belt but it was too big for my waist so I opted not to wear one but I have a whole collection that will match for future wear, I have on a size 12.

The top is super stretchy, though be sure to get the correct size for your chest measurements as it might gape if you buy to small. I'm wearing this in a size 0 which is very fitted but just the way I like it. You can wear the sleeves off the shoulder or hide you bra straps beneath and push it up a little higher on your shoulder. This top is part of the pinup inspired collection called retro chic, click here to see all the items.

Then to match with the pinup feel of this outfit my new T.U.K, Platform Heels from the 'ANCHORS AWEIGH' Collection, these are not online yet but I will post a link as soon as they are live. You can find the rest of the line here at T.U.K.'s Online Shop

These are a soft and so comfy! They might look high but due to the thick heel and the platform they are very easy to wear and walk in. They are a larger fit but this will be easily fixed with some insoles. I love the horse shoe cut out feature on the peeptoe, the nautical inspired charm hidden inside the inner heel and the white pipping. These will also be available in red.

This year I'm rather in love with all T.U.K's designs and fit, that much so I'm going to get a few more pairs of the styles I have just so I don't wear them to death!

I also got the best wallet ever! The Iron Fist Arm Off Wallet - $22.00US This the best wallet I've had in years. Its large enough to hold everything I could possibly need and always attracts attention when i pull it out to pay for purchases. Better yet it matches my Wolf-beater Iron Fist Platform Pumps! I would usually have gone for the zombie stomper style but I'm actually liking the wolf more these days.

Do you like our inventive 'cold weather/rain' shoot location? I'm really missing daylight savings now when it comes to shooting for the blog.

Thank you to my rocking photographer Michael Alesich from Lucky & Rice for shooting this with me rain, hail or shine!

Summer Style

Now that Melbourne is seems to have finally figured out its summer time I'm thinking about what I want to add to my wardrobe over the next few months. Pieces that can work with both through the scorching heat we will have and then move into Autumn.

While web window shopping I've found the following.

ASOS Sheer Pocket Shirt Dress £25.00

I want to wear this over all my black jeans and shorts with big chunky heels

ASOS Jersey Pencil Skirt £20.00

Simple wardrobe staple that can be worn with anything! This also comes in a brown shade

Petite heart pussybow blouse
£29.50

This summer I'm made about sheer light weight tops, this is a very sweet print and I love the features pussy bow.

Back in Black Denim Skirt from 17Sundays $89.95

I've never owned a denim skirt so this year I will invest in one. 17 Sundays is a new Australian plus size label who I will be reviewing in he future so look out for my updates.

Alisi Nadia Black 1 Piece $179.00

I have 3 swimsuits but none of them are black - shock horror! This one piece I have been lusting over for a long time now. Its perfect for any curvy woman who does not want to show her arms while swimming. I would also team this up with high waisted jeans and shorts and wear this as a bodysuit.

I can't forget some vital and very cute accessories as well.

Dorothy Perkins Khaki loop through waist belt £4.00

I need to add other colour belts to my collection as I want to to mix and match with lighter floral's and more earthy tones. This belt is perfect for that and so cheap!

What's your summer style? What will you be wearing over this these oh so hot months we have coming up?

Review - Lucie Lu

When I first discovered the plethora of online shops for girls with curves Lucie Lu was one of the first sites I came across and I've always loved the the styles and the variety of stock they have.

From super cute dresses to great wardrobe basics they have great variety and individual size charts for each item.

So with local and international readers in mind I offer you both a summer and a winter option when shopping at Lucie Lu!

The Margeaux Dress-Pin Dot -$46.00US a perfect light weight summer dress with a faux wrap design. This is a perfect fit my my measurements and the cutest dress for summer made from a lovely rayon & spandex knit its soft and stretch.

The tiny polka dot print on the ruffles and ties is my favorite feature.

The Tatum Dress-Watercolor Lace $62.00US the Winter option. This dress is a very warm and thick 94% poly. 6% spandex fabric perfect for the colder months. The print and colour are so much brighter and bolder than the image shown online. There are two other fabric colour choices so if green is not you this dress is also available in either brown or grey.

It was a little loose around the middle but this is easily fixed with my thick waist belt from Jeans West. I have this issue a lot as I'm a size smaller in the waist than my bust and hips. This is why belts were created for a body like mine! This will be great in winter with thigh tights and boots and it zips all the way up to the top of the neckline i just liked it more when open a little.

My current favorites on Lucie Lu, I need them all :

Lace Party Dress-Nude $78US - The ideal part dress
Military Shrug - $26US - Buttons are my weakness, I need a shrug like this
Veola Top - $29US - Wardrobe basic with something extra on the bust.

Jungle Fever

Its getting warm enough (well most days it is) to really start getting into summer styles and at the moment I'm really loving the jungle inspired styling that is popping up everywhere.

From new style safari suits to leopard print and tribal patterns this look is wild and I'm thinking about adding a few items to my wardrobe, can I pull it off?

This summer I have made a promise to myself - experiment with more prints and more colour lets see if i stick to it.

Safari Jacket $89.95 and Cargo Shorts $69.95 from City Chic

Align Center
Pair this with the Green Military Tie Blouse from ASOS £28.00

Then to finish off the look either a statement shoe in Leopard - Foxy by Jeffery Campbell $139.95USD

or the Freida Wedge by Toni Bianco $179.95AU

Mix the classic black evening dress with a little bit of leopard if you are not game enough to wear the first look. Wear plain black pumps with this simple design.

ASOS Leopard Print Jersey Batwing Dress - £32.00

Leopard your style then what about this forest print from Diane Von Furstenberg the queen of wrap dresses!

Jeanne Wrap Dress in Brambles Forest - $325.00USD

with Steve Maden Fiesstaa Platform Sandals - £32.00
