Welcome to Hell Motel...

I've got a huge love for fashion but I don't limit my love for clothing on just dressing myself. If I had a never ending source of cash I'd style everyone I know!

So recently I convinced my friend Jay to let me style him head to toe and do a photo shoot with me. Jaymz is the lead singer of the local Melbourne Celtic folk punk band Between the Wars so he is no stranger to being in front of a camera. Check out their music via Facebook or the BTW website.

Photobucket

While looking for how to style him I did a little research into what are the most flattering styles for short men. Jaymz is actually a few inches shorter than me so I wanted to put him in something that flattered his body shape and made him appear taller. As you can see from most images even with 5 inch heels on we look the same height.

Photobucket

Jaymz's Outfit:

Sailor Jerry Tee - $22.99US
Black Skinny Jeans - Kmart
Belt Buckle - From my collection
T.U.K White Leather Mondo Creeper - $67.00US

Photobucket

Skinny jeans make your legs appear longer and thinner when you wear them with shoes that have a little bit of height. This style jean (though a little big on Jaymz) are the perfect pair of pants to wear with Creepers. Be sure to hem them to the right length or wear them slightly bunched up at the ankle. If you fold the cuff it will just shorten the length of your legs.

Photobucket

These Creepers are hot! I've always loved this style shoe on men, there is something very funky about them and I love the super thick 1 7/8 inch Sole. I've tried to wear this style myself but they don't seem to suit me but they suit Jaymz perfectly. They are comfortable and make any outfit look brilliant! If you are looking to buy these for yourself these are a size 8US-Mens and they work out to be a 10 women's. I tried these on and they fit a little loose but that might just be the style.

My outfit :

Collectif Jo Cardie in Cocktail - £35.00
Collectif Hilda Skirt - £30.00
T.U.K Platinum Collection Leopard Cow Hair Ruffle Heart Heel - $130.00US
Flowers - Andy's Eye Candy

Photobucket

Bold
Align LeftI LOVE this cardie with all my heart! The perfect fit and the most adorable tiki's and cocktails embroidery around the collar. With a little stretch this is a really form fitting piece of knitwear for your collection. I'm wearing this with skirts, wiggle and swing dresses it matches so many items in my wardrobe. I paired this with the Hilda wiggle skirt from Collectif! The skirt is a great legnth and the best black pencil skirt I've had in years. I'd actually like this style without the buttons so I can wear tops over, not just tucked in

These are my first items from Collectif and I'm 100% sold! They create really cute styles, great fabrics and a perfect fit. I'm wearing a size 16UK in both of these items and they fit perfectly for my measurements. I now need more skirts and cardigans and maybe a dress or two from this store!

Photobucket

The T.U.K Platinum Collection - Amazing! All these styles are stunning! Covered in a cow hair leopard print with the cutest ruffle detail around the top of the shoe. These 5 inch heels are so easy to walk in and very comfortable. Being a leopard print addict I knew when I saw these that they needed to be on my feet. I'm wearing these in a size 10 and they fit perfectly. I can't wait to wear these with everything!

All the heels in the Platinum Collection include a dust bag and extra pair of heel tips. These are in the higher price range for T.U.K styles but they are worth every cent.

Now time for a outfit change!

Photobucket

Collectif Mariella Cardigan with Birdcage Embroidery - £35.00

How cute is this cardigan? From the adorable embroidery to the red buttons and peter pan collar this is too adorable. This style actually has the same red as shown on the sleeves at the base of the cardigan but my skirt is hiding that feature so click the link to see full images. I love that I can wear this tucked in and be mostly black or un tucked for a brighter look.

Photobucket

This style is super stretchy and light weight making it perfect for the current cool weather we are having as we enter Autumn. You can get this cardigan the following colour combinations Black/Red (as shown), Pink/Black and Red/black. The was a bowtie that was attached to this top in Red but I did not like the way it sat on my bust so I took it off.

A new top, well then I need shoes to match!

Photobucket

T.U.K Red Micro Studded Sky-Hi Platform Heel - $52.00US

Photobucket

I actually own these in black so I knew they would be perfect. The black pair are fantastic but every girl needs a few pairs of red shoes and what makes red shoes better? Studs and Bows! I'm a stud freak, I love them on my clothing, on my accessories and my jewelery.

The heel fairly high but they are easy to walk in and the faux leather is really comfortable and soft. They add a little touch of rock and roll to any outfit.

I went a little bit picture happy with this post but I liked so many of the shots! Here are my last two favorites. Black and white always wins me over!

Many Thanks to Michael Alesich from Lucky and Rice. It's always such a pleasure working with you and the fact that you are willing to sneak into run down abandoned building with two crazy people is awesome! I can't wait to shoot with you again.

Pin Me Up

If you can't tell already one of my biggest addictions is Pinup Girl Clothing. With impeccable tailoring, beautiful silhouettes and styles fit for any retro vixen what is not to love! I may not dress like a pinup every day of the week but when I do this is the only brand I buy!

So armed with some new season stock and core favorites Jaimie Nicole Photography and I headed down to The Tiki Lounge & Bar in Melbourne to create some amazing images to add to this review. This location and the clothing combined are a match made in heaven! All the items I'm wearing are a size XL.

The Gia Top - $42US and Audrey Skirt - $78US

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The Gia Top like the amazing Pinup model it was named after is red HOT! I'm wear the Gia in Burgundy. It is a perfect fit, soft and stretchy with lots off room to accommodate my E/DD chest but this would also look perfect with a smaller chest. The long sleeve is a perfect length for the weather in Melbourne right now and this top is so versatile you can wear it with anything from high waist skirts to you favorite pair of jeans.

The Deep Burgandy shade divine, this top also comes in Black, Red, Flesh Tone, Teal and White.

The Audrey Skirt - Absolute perfection in skirt form! This fits my waist/lower rib cage snuggly and is a perfect length just above my knees. It naturally skims over the the hips and the pleats are fantastic. This skirt skims over your hips and the high waist is really sliming. Finished off with a black bow in the same cotton fabric! I will wear this all year round, with stockings, boots and fitted shirts in winter and less in the summer. This skirt also comes in Pink!

My shoes are from T.U.K .- $120US. Now these ruby red babies from the Platinum Collection are not for the faint hearted. I'm still teaching myself to walk in them. The wedge/heel is really unique and the embroidering and corset heel really make these shoes attract attention.

I've actually be hunting for full A-line skirt for the last year but non have come close to this design. The Doris Skirt is a high waisted full swing style skirt in a peacock print (also available in black) for a closer look at the pattern view product shots on the website. I then paired with my Doris Top - $52US but the Gia Top in black would also look amazing with it. Now i'm wearing this without a petticoat and it drapes beautifully but if you want a more pronounced shape be sure to wear one under in a complimenting colour to give a real swing look.

Featured once more as I'm addicted are the Black Platform Pumps - $57.00US from the DIA DE LOS MUERTOS by T.U.K..

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Finally I have found my perfect pencil skirt! I've tried many but nothing comes close to the fabric, cut and length of this style. I only have one issue - my waist seems to be a little small for this XL so I am taking it to the tailor to make it even more perfect. This pencil skirt is the core item every woman needs in her wardrobe. You can dress it up or down, wear it all year round and in black its so very versatile. Made from a cotton spandex blend it will hug your curves perfectly with a little stretch to the fabric.

I'm wear the now discontinued Natalie top in Leopard, this top does not exist any more sadly. But I have heard that they will be bringing out a new version of this design with some slight changes. My shoes are Bordello by Pleaser kindly lent to me by my photographer.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I took a gamble on this dress I was not sure about the colour with my red hair or how I'd look in a polka dot print but as you can see it works! This dress was designed to hug your curves and really show them off. I'm wearing the black belt that came with the Doris Skirt to shape my waist more so and a bolero borrowed from my photographer. Micheline Pitt has the most amazing taste and design skills, Deadly Dames is my favorite of all the lines on the website.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Made of a non stretch cotton sateen it fist like a glove. The sculpted bust and fully adjustable straps does wonders for your chest. This also allows you to customize the dress to fit your bust size better. I really like how this fits my body, I'm considering buying one more of this style but I'm not sure if I should get the Vamp in Black, Tiger or Zebra print.

Torrid & T.U.K Review

To follow up my last Torrid giveaway I wanted to showcase some of my favorite pieces in a shoot. I have a few more items to showcase but that will be later on in the month.

Torrid I've found are really great for denim, I love my skinny jeans like crazy so I wanted to share these brilliant black jeans.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Trip Black Skinny Twill Pant (sizes x-short - x-tall) $48.00US

Perfect fit, lots of stretch in the fabric and they very smooth and soft. I've had my eye on these for so long and I now live in them! What sold me originally is the tiny little skull detail on the pockets - small skull rivets are featured throughout the jean.

Rivet Detail

These come in 4 different different leg lengths for all heights - how fantastic is this! I'm wearing these in a size 12 and a short length (they were sold out of my regular leg length) I will need to get a longer leg shortly as they are a little to short for my liking. The are a mid rise which is great.

I'm wearing the Black Platform Pumps - $57.00US from the DIA DE LOS MUERTOS by T.U.K. The studded clog like base is my favorite look at the moment and these are so very comfortable for a high heel platform. I wore them to a fashion parade, after party and roamed around the city for hours in these shoes and did not hurt my feet in any way. I love the tear drop cute out pattern and the adorable little Tiki head on the inside of the heel. These also come in a hot pink which I will be ordering asap. These will also feature in my next post, that's how much I love them!

I then pair the jeans with this stunning floral wrap top in a size 0, its a very loose, comfortable fit. Its more suited to summer here in Australia as the fabric is very lightweight but I wanted to show just how cute it would look with the jeans. I tied it in front with a bow but it also looks really good with a chunky black waist belt.

Finished off with my favorite necklace right now, I love anything that features a deer/buck head and this necklace really stands out with the addition of a little bling.

Torrid Denim - Highwaisted Cuffed Shorts - $38.00US

Finally I have a pair of blue denim high waited shorts! These are just as perfect as my black pair from City Chic. Like most of the torrid branded stretch denim these are really comfy, fit perfectly and when worn with heels look fantastic! The do really loosen up after a full day's wear though but I fixed this with a wash and tumble dry. I'm wearing these in a size 12.

My last outfit is my a mixture of the exclusive Lucky 13 range available online only and the regular Torrid line.

LinkImage Hosted by ImageShack.us

Charcoal Benglaine Pencil Skirt (only avaliable in black now) - $19.97
Lucky 13 Bow off Shoulder Top (shown in white, size 0 left) Black available here - $48.00

Sadly these colours are not online anymore (the skirt was a sale item) but they do have both items available in black. When I saw these two items I already had this outfit in mind. I could have a closet full of pencil skirts and still add more as they are perfect to dress up or down. This style has a deep pocket on each hip but as you can see it does not change fit or shape in any way. This style came with a waist belt but it was too big for my waist so I opted not to wear one but I have a whole collection that will match for future wear, I have on a size 12.

Link

The top is super stretchy, though be sure to get the correct size for your chest measurements as it might gape if you buy to small. I'm wearing this in a size 0 which is very fitted but just the way I like it. You can wear the sleeves off the shoulder or hide you bra straps beneath and push it up a little higher on your shoulder. This top is part of the pinup inspired collection called retro chic, click here to see all the items.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Then to match with the pinup feel of this outfit my new T.U.K, Platform Heels from the 'ANCHORS AWEIGH' Collection, these are not online yet but I will post a link as soon as they are live. You can find the rest of the line here at T.U.K.'s Online Shop

These are a soft and so comfy! They might look high but due to the thick heel and the platform they are very easy to wear and walk in. They are a larger fit but this will be easily fixed with some insoles. I love the horse shoe cut out feature on the peeptoe, the nautical inspired charm hidden inside the inner heel and the white pipping. These will also be available in red.

This year I'm rather in love with all T.U.K's designs and fit, that much so I'm going to get a few more pairs of the styles I have just so I don't wear them to death!

I also got the best wallet ever! The Iron Fist Arm Off Wallet - $22.00US This the best wallet I've had in years. Its large enough to hold everything I could possibly need and always attracts attention when i pull it out to pay for purchases. Better yet it matches my Wolf-beater Iron Fist Platform Pumps! I would usually have gone for the zombie stomper style but I'm actually liking the wolf more these days.

Do you like our inventive 'cold weather/rain' shoot location? I'm really missing daylight savings now when it comes to shooting for the blog.

Thank you to my rocking photographer Michael Alesich from Lucky & Rice for shooting this with me rain, hail or shine!
