Jawbreaker Clothing

As the years pass and my closet grows and grows with bright pinup styles, I will always have a soft spot for the more gothic styles in perfect curve hugging shapes. Last year, I discovered that Voodoo Vixen, one of my favourite UK pinup stores, have another brand focusing on gothic, punk and alternative clothing. Instantly I fell in love with their pinstripe wiggle skirts and dresses, plaid moto jackets and amazing prints. But there was one item that screamed at me from the computer screen - The Grovel Skirt.

Grovel Skirt - 36 pound
Stockings ASOS

The Grovel Skirt is magic. From the stretchy yet figure hugging fabric to the stunning pinstripe print, this skirt was made for curves! A high waist to accentuate my hourglass shape and a built-in belt/braces attachment adds that little extra element complete with eyelets and big silver fastenings. I'm wearing the Grovel Skirt in and XL and the fit is perfect! It zips up at the back and due to the stretch, it's super comfortable and easy to move in, unlike some pencil/wiggle skirts. Jawbreaker clothing's largest size is an XL and I find that to be perfect for my measurements.

I'm smitten with the bondage features on this skirt and the built-in belt means I can accentuate my waist without adding an extra belt. The fastenings really pop as well and the braces add an extra dimension to the look. This may be the first Jawbreaker item in my collection but can honestly say it's started an new addiction and I can't wait to get more styles and lots of dresses in my collection. My lust list is already huge!

I paired the Grovel Skirt with one of the most beloved tops in my collection - The Doris. Such a Pinup Girl Clothing staple and one of the most flattering and boobtastic shapes!  I love how easily I can wear this blouse with a gothic style bondage skirt then the next day a full 50's swing style skirt or high waisted capris. Shoewise, I knew when I ordered this skirt that I wanted some amazing platform boots and Shoe Me Gorgeous came to the rescue with the most amazing Demonias!

We have to take a few minutes now to focus on these AMAZING boots! Shoe Me Gorgeous have a huge selection of Demonia boots, platforms and high heels, but there was something that drew me to the Poison-101 wedge, made of stunning black vegan leather with some of the best shoe adornments I think I've ever seen. From pyramid studs to spikes, chains, crosses, skulls, pentagrams, lightening and safety pins, this boot has the lot!! You would think that that all might be a little to much for one pair of boots but holy hell it works perfect! I love to chain, spike and button up my leather jackets so now I finally have a pair of boots to match.

The wedge style also offers absolute comfort and these are a dream to wear. Making me super tall while offering the comfort of a flat, you can easily wear these all day long. Now I usually would not pair an ankle boot with a fitted skirt but I adore how well these work together and the stockings really complete the whole look. I can't wait for winter to hit so I can wear these with jeans and disco pants! I'm wearing an size 10 as I find Demonia are very close to Aussie sizes.

Just like the skirt starting an addiction, I've now got a huge lust list for more Demonias! I would kill to style these in upcoming shoots :

I'm such a sucker for studs and spikes, so it's hard not to lust after every single shoe from this range. I need the Cramps to pair with adorable Wednesday Adams style dresses and the Torment Boots are hot hottest heeled platform on the planet. I've need these babies in my life.

Many thanks to Rom Anthonis for shooting these images! They are my favorite from this set and I can't wait to share our the other images we took. A little hint - we went the polar opposite of this blog's theme and styling!

The Devil's in the Detail

I have many addictions when it comes to fashion, but I think my strongest addiction has to be jewellery. I have a cabinet that is overflowing with necklaces, brooches and amazing earrings and I'm constantly adding to it.

Heat Earrings - TBA

Bold chain work, a strong silver crowned heart nestled in a deep blood red pendant, this design is the third crowned heart in my collection, and each style is completely different. Being a huge fan of Classic Hardware's box and picture frame pendants, I wanted to try a style that was in the same range but a new shape. This style is simple yet bold, and I paired this necklace with a Mechanical Heart pair of earrings that I can't seem to find on the website anymore.

I'm currently obsessed with all kinds of creepy crawly accessories and this stunning rockwear fly is absolutely amazing. So classic and beautifully designed, placed on a perfect silver frame. This giant bug really stands out on my pale skin and I'm wearing this like crazy! You can choose between brass, jade and jet black beads on the silver chain. I chose black as it matches most of my outfits but I'd also love to see this style in jade.

I've been in love with these Edwardian Silhouette necklaces for a while now and have one in my collection already but when I saw the Punk version I had to have it! How awesome is this? Such a rocking vintage punk mash up and I love this to death.

The new romantic collection is a more recent series and I just adore these stunning emerald green earrings. So simple yet sleek and sophisticated. They are light weight a must for anyone who loves to wear ear accessories and they are so comfortable. If these are available in any other colour I must get my hands on them!

If you are a lover of retro accessories, you must - MUST - have Retrolite in your collection. It's such a strong, durable resin that creates amazing shapes and the perfect high gloss sheen. I always choose the bigger and bolder shapes when purchasing Retrolite, and the floral trio is a stunning new addition to my small collection. This necklace is a real showstopper and looks amazing with a little black dress as it draws lots of attention with it's unique shape and style. I really hope more floral resin designs like this are in Classic Hardware's future.

Now to a local and brilliant alternative designer - Debstar Designs :

I've loved Debstar's designs for year as everything is a little kooky, spooky, rockabilly, psychobilly and much, much more! From skulls to hearses, she makes the most fantastic accessories and this skull and heart style is one of my favourites. I love the mixture of both a heart and skull charm and the half and half coloured chain. I've never had a necklace with such unique design.

I paired this with the AMAZING starburst retro studs! I've loved the starburst design in both accessories and homewares for years yet this is the first item of jewellery I've owned. The bold silver lines with a black middle pop perfectly on my pale skin and I just discovered that a skull version of this has hit the store so I'll be needing to snap those up asap. Every girl needs a pair of these in her collection.

Pistol Necklace - $15.00

Last but not least is the sleek pistol necklace from Debstar Designs. I've had strong love for the shape and design of pistols ever since I can remember and I've been collecting gun and bullet accessories for years. This pistol/holster combination is amazing and I love how gracefully it rests just bellow my collar bone. I feel super silly for not choosing an image with the piston itself in focus - oh vanity you are annoying! So below is a full high res version of the piece itself.

I love wearing this piece with plaid and cowboy boots or even with a little black low cut dress.

Many thanks to the amazing Julz Photography for snapping these awesome images in her studio and for working with me over the last few years. I just adore shooting with you! Fingers crossed we get to plan something again soon!

Tragic Beautiful

If there is one style of casual dress that I can say I'm addicted to, it has to be the very dark and always brilliant Wednesday Addams dress. I've got a cupboard full of this style frock and I continue to add more as more colourways and collar options hit the market.

Kixies

The Thursday dress is my current go to winter dress for day or night and I'm absolutely in love with the simple yet unique design. With a full sleeve, free flowing hip and nipped in waist/under bust section this style is both flattering and super comfortable. The extra addition of a silk ribbon bow tie adds that little something extra that most of my Wednesday Addams inspired outfits don't have. There is also a sneaky back print as shown bellow!

I adore each and every design from Disturbia and love the gothic and creepy style/vibe they have created with their range. As I'm always more comfortable and, let's face it, live in all black items, this adds a little more mod goth inspired style to my wardrobe.

I'm wearing this style in a size XL but I could have easily have slipped into a Large given the stretchy fabric and roomy hips and waist. The viscose fabric is a dream to wear as it's lightweight and can be layered with ease. This dress will suit all season but winter as well so you can wear it constantly! I'm actually wearing this to work today and heading straight to the David Bowie Exhibition afterwards. It's so versatile and a dream to wear.

I wanted to put a little 60's spin on the Thursday Dress so I opted to tease my hair and add a bold and quirky set of sunglasses from my collection. These were purchased from eBay and say 'Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye' on each frame.

There are heaps of other items at Tragic Beautiful with this Addams Family vibe and my lust list is getting huge! Tragic Beautiful are an Australian based company (yay for more Aussies!) and have a huge range of alternative clothing, accessories and housewares.

Addams Crop Top - $49.00
Doll Dress - $65.00

I'll take one of each please! The 90's are coming back it seems with a moon, sun and stars print fabric all mixed with a little evil. I love the crop style top and would love to wear it with both swing and pencil skirts.

I have the Dolly Dress and it's a great fit, very mod looking and a dream to wear. The bold buttons add a little more drama and the ribbon waist tie is adorable. Then I think it's an absolute must to get a version of this dress in velvet. Is there anything more delicious than black velvet?

There are two options for a Wednesday Addams style textured fabric dress. The Addams Velvet above and the Rosemary Velour dress from Disturbia. I love the extra addition of bold alien head buttons on this style. Then finally there is the Pentagram Wednesday Dress which has the same fit as the Thursday style but with a short sleeve and a large white pentagram printed on the back.
I think I'm getting greedy with this theme/style but I can't help it!

Se7en Deadly

Se7evn Deadly - Deviously Divine Offerings to Soothe a Sinner's Soul.

'With the launch of se7en deadly in early 2010 comes a new genre in alternative fashion and the home decor industries that we refer to as "Elegantly Macabre" Its unique designs twist together the core of the Se7en Deadly Sins, the graceful Victorian era, and the harsh grunge of a traveling circus in the Great Depression. The Se7en Deadly brand seamlessly juxtaposes ancient religious carvings, medical oddities and curiosities, and forbidden subject matters, to create a collection of alternative clothing, eerie accessories and vintage inspired art. Much like a quick glimpse into a sideshow tent, Se7en Deadly is unusual, new and alluring.'

Se7en Deadly are pretty much a one stop shop for those whole love the Macabre - which I do very much. You can purchase clothing for women, men, kids, artwork and accessories.

Bellow are my 2 favorite tees and 1 cami.

Heavens Sinners Cami - $32.99US

I'm wearing this style in a size X-Large and it is a snug fit just the way I like to wear my cami's and t'shirts. I love the lace detail on both the bust and the bottom of this top. The large skeleton print is brilliant and it's really flattering on your curves. This cami also comes in black with a white print if red does not take your fancy.

I paired this up with my favorite Sportsgirl stole and my black disco pants. I used the same pants for each item to show just how rock and roll these tees look with a shinny pair of awesome pants.

Embalming V-Neck Tee - $32.99US

Because I was unsure of the sizes for this brand I got this top in an XX-Large but sadly it was far too big, I've taken it in myself but think in the future a size down would be the perfect size. I love this print and the low cut v-neck!

Photobucket

The print is fun, creepy and has one a stunning very vintage hearse featured front and center. The print and text does make people double take which always makes me giggle.

Vanity Kills V-Neck Tee - $32.99

I first saw this design on Pinup Girl Clothing and wanted it instantly but sadly they sold out. So this is how I came to find Se7en Deadly's webstore, just by looking for this top! I'm wearing this style in a X-Large and I think its perfect! Unlike the other two tops that are not sheer this fabric has a burntout effect which is really cool. Also available in crimson.

Photobucket

The print is really bold and I think out of all 3 this is my stand out favorite. It hugs my curves, shows the right amount of cleavage and is perfect for jeans, disco pants, shorts and high waist skirts.

I'm going to be featuring many more tops in the next few months as I feel like I own more jeans and skirts than tees, cardigans and shirts.

Thank you to Giuseppe Dante Sapienza Photography for shooting these with me. Check out his website or facebook.

Give me Iron Baby!

I woke up this morning to a lovely site on facebook. Iron Fist Australia has uploaded images of all the stock coming in in September and just had to share.

Its no secret that I have an obsession with Iron Fist shoes, to me they are my personality in shoe form. This seasons range is amazing and its going to be hard to pick a selection to purchase as I adore them all.

The September releases have some different styles so if peep toe pumps arn't your thing then you will have more variety to choose from. With round toe wedges, booties, smaller heels and flats there is so much choice. The new fabrics and prints are to die for with my stand out favorites being the black, red and white bomb print pump and the pink almost pyramid stud like print on a super high pump.

Now have look at these amazing styles and try not to drool. I will find out the when exactly they will be online to purchase and update you all very soon.
