Lumberjack

I'm starting a new trend for myself this winter - Lumberjack Chic! It's all about mixing check and plaid patterns and pairing these with big chunky leather belts and all the quintessential winter warmers. Clashing plaids in the same colour is something that usually scares the hell out of me but this winter I'm loving it. You can also check http://www.hotuksavings.co.uk/stores/house-of-fraser/, where you could find some variance in colours for your check and plaid pattern clothes at a discounted price.

This outfit was almost to be looked over until my brilliant husband and photographer highly recommend the print clash. Inspired by designers such as Vivienne Westwood I agreed and the results are pure mountain fashion magic.
Wearing two of my all time favourite styles from the Heart of Haute range, the Elsa blouse and the circle skirt. Once you try these brilliant pieces you will have to get as many different colours and prints as possible. They flatter and really accentuate all of the curves of my body.

Now these days I'm I'm wearing a 1XL in all of the ranges with the exception of the stretch tops and cardigans (I wear XL in each of those). The skirt is a 1XL and the fit is PERFECTION. With just the right amount of give at the waist you can wear this all day long without any fit issues or waist band problems. The cotton is lightweight and flows in such a stunning way plus these babies twirl like crazy.

For the Elsa I'm usually more comfortable in the 1XL but as there were none in stock I took a risk and got the next size up. The fit is loose at the waist and super roomy but when tucked into a high waisted skirt this is easily fixed. Sometimes you just need to get a bigger size and either get it tailored to fit or trust waist belts to cinch you in perfectly so you don't miss out on an amazing print.

The Elsa blouse also works perfectly with long sleeve cardigans and when mixed with leather jackets really does pop. The neckline is super flattering and shows just the right amount of cleavage so it's great for work. Heart of Haute have the best selection of button up blouses that work perfectly with large bust lines so be sure to cross check the size chart with your bust measurements for the perfect fit.

My next fashion challenge is to get more colours and prints to mix and match. I'm hunting for shades like blue, yellow and even green. Lets mix those primary plaid prints and maybe even sneak in a little grey or black.

As for my prop/weapon of choice it's actually a vintage scythe I picked up from the Daylesford Mill a few weeks back. I've had my eye on such farm tools for a while now but I've never been able to afford the kind I wanted - think the French play house in Interview with the Vampire when Louis kills all the vamps. But my husband found this nifty little number for a price I could not refuse and now my collection of vintage tools has started.

Many thanks to the brilliant and beautiful Jaimie Nicole for shooting these and some more super amazing images with me. It's been a few years since our last shoot but once we get together it's just like old times.

Dollbaby - The Getaway

Ruffles, lace and velvet - oh my! Florals and knits, leather and charms - this past Wheels and Dollbaby season has left my jaw on the floor as I've been lusting after each and every stunning piece. From core piece redesigned to amazing winter fabrics and print you are seriously spoilt for choice.

So with my bags packed full of Dollbaby goodies I headed to the hills to capture these amazing winter warming styles in the perfect setting with the amazing Jaimie Nicole.

For this review I'm wearing a selection of both size 14 and 16 and I'll be detailing the fit of all garments.

BABY GIRL SKIRT - $125.00

I have been lusting after the Decoratifs top for so very long as it's sexy, sleek and lets face it who doesn't like to be wrapped up in velvet? But my giant chest can cause issueswith most tops these days and then I had a light bulb moment! I have the most stunning and sexy collection of Ewa Michalak bras in my collection so I pair this amazing top with a stunning little lace number and I'm loving the result. It's almost like these two pieces were destined to be together.

I'm wearing both the top and skirt in a size 16 and the fit is perfect! The stretch velvet molds to my curves and is think enough to hold you in tightly slimming down your waistline and in my case pushing that cleavage up even more so. Those delicate riffled and attention to detail on the bust is what makes this top pure magic.

I'm also wearing the Baby Girl skirt in a size 16 and the fit is super firm as the waistband has limited stretch. This is a structured waistline so if you own the super stretchy wiggle skirts be sure to keep that fit advice in mind.

While I accessorised with my bra in this look to add that little touch of lace I also wanted to add a few more pieces to really make this look pop. So I've paired this with a red beret and my favourite red and white dot gloves and the results speak for themselves.

BABY GIRL SKIRT - $125.00

On of my all time favourite sweaters is back with a little embroidered twist. This Dollbaby cropped sweater is one of those timeless and effortless pieces that every girl needs in her collection. While I've modeled the classic and leopard versions of this I have to say that the next Charm Emblem version is my current favourite.

With the high neckline, 3/4 sleeves and that bold white logo this piece will never date and always gives you that polished and classic pinup look.

I'm wearing this sweater in a size 16 and just adore it in this size. I don't even tuck into skirts with this little jumper as I love how the waist band sits and accentuates my waistline. I need this in every colour and print for the rest of my life as it's so easy to wear and style.

Black floral prints - oh how you have my heart! I loved the Chinoiserie print when it was released but all the dress styles did not scream "Teer Style" so I decided to try the printed cardigan instead. This super soft and stretchy cardigan is pure bliss to wear and the knit is so silky on your skin.
The black based floral print makes a goth at heart like myself swoon and I really love each and every bird and flower featured on this classic print. Again I wanted to show a little black lace and I love how so many of the Wheels and Dollbaby pieces work with a hint of lingerie.

I'm wearing the size 16 and the fit is great but be careful if you stretch the fabric a little too much or the white base can pop through. I found this occurred once around the largest part of my bust but I rarely wear cardigans buttoned up these days so that issue would not be a problem in the future.

Just like all of the Dollbaby classic knitwear this item is stretchy but it also holds it shape after each wear which is something that I really need in all of my cardigans.

There are two styles always in stock at Wheels and Dollbaby that I both trust and love the fit of - Leather Jackets and all things Cake Ruffle. I've worn lots of different items from each and every release over the years but the fit of these two items is always 100% on point.

The Cake Ruffle tank top in bright ruby red is a colour way I have been dreaming about for years and now that the tank top and tank dress are here I can add them to my collection. I'm wearing this style in a size 14 as I've found the 16's in tops can be a little too big on my waist. The stretchy soft cotton molds to my bust and really pops perfectly on my pale skin. What I love most about this tank has to be the charm and black velvet bow.

Now I'm going to cross all of my fingers and toes and hope that this specific colour way is released in the dress that I inspired - the swing version of the standard cupcake dress or even a dark print!!!

For the leather jacket I went for a size 16 and it fits like a second skin. This buttery amazingly soft leather is the bees knees and the fit is honestly amazing. It's firm, thick and so very soft and molds to you which a faux leather moto never does. Fully linned and features all the hardware you'll ever need on a moto jacket. There is also a huge logo embossed across the back of the jacket but silly me I forgot to shoot it!! It's those little touches that make this jacket so special and worth the investment as this will never date and it will last you a lifetime. Now I just need to save up for this style and for the red leather as that is my unicorn of biker jackets.

And now for something a little more laid back and oh so comfy. This is my 5th Oversized sweater from Wheels, and the reason I keep coming back to this style with every print and reissue has to be the choice of fabrics and the casual chic look and fit.
But this season the knit and fabric is different so this version fits even better. It's a lighter knit but don't let that fool you it's still as cozy and warm as ever. I'm wearing the 14 and it's not too bulky or over sized. I tend to always size down in these sweaters as I like the fit to be tighter. I could have rocked the 12 as well but I'm happy with the perfect fit of the 14.

In my collection I have the pony club, skull and logo sweaters but this by far is my favourite due to the fabric choice and the mixture of black and red text.

Many thanks to the brilliant Jaimie Nicole for capturing all of these looks perfectly. My first ever review for Wheels and Dollbaby was shot by her and it's amazing to team up again.

Kelsie Wrap Dress ON SALE!!!

Just a super quick post to tell you guys that the Kelsie Wrap Dress is on sale!! I shot this piece a little while back and it's absolutely amazing. A soft and super stretchy knit, true wrap dress style with the most amazing lipstick print on a black background. On sale for just $51USD - it's an absolute steal!!

I'm such a sucker for a makeup print and being an avid red lippy wearer I needed this print in my collection now and forever. Plus the wrap style is super flattering on all shapes and sizes as it's that universal dress type that EVERYONE looks good in.

Now I ordered this in a 2XL by mistake and I should have sized down to an XL as this is so very, very roomy at the bust and waist. Luckily the wrap features makes it very easy to tighten the waist but my bust at a GG cup still feels like it's not filling the bust area out!

So due to the extremely stretchy fabric you can go down a size or two depending on your stats.

How magical is this print? I honestly can't get enough of it and I think I'd sell my soul for a wrap top version of this. Actually come to think of it I could get this tailored into one and have a wrap skirt as this is a true size too big for me at the moment.
I can't wait to see what is in store next for this wrap style dress print wise as I will live in all colour ways and fabrics.

Many Thanks to Brooke Orchard for snapping this rocking frock for me!

Erstwilder Release - Into The Woods

This winter I've been absolutely nutty for all things woodland themed and I have spent most of time at forest photo shoots. So when these amazing woodland themed pieces were previewed by Erstwilder, I snapped up my absolute favourites as soon as I could.

To me, the woodlands and winter are the perfect pairing. With all of those rich colours, amazing prints and adorable animals, this might give you an explanation into why I shoot like crazy in this season and collect all of the cold weather accessories.

So my husband and I snuck off to Macedon for the weekend, camera in hand and shot these in the most perfect little cottage. I paired each item with plaid and lots of warm layers.

Oh my gosh, why have I not discovered acorn accessories before? They have to be the cutest little creations on earth. A classic drop style super light weight and a joy to wear. I was actually worried that my dark red hair would make these blend a little too much but they actually pop perfectly.

'

I think they work perfectly with my hair due to the top of the acorn being a clashing colour. I've worn these all weekend and now into the week and I think from now on I need to start collecting more Erstwilder earrings.

Acorns and stag heads oh my! One of my all time favourite things on earth is a deer or stag head if I ever see anything featuring such an image it HAS to be mine. So of course when I saw the Kind Hearted Keresh I was instantly in love. It reminded me of one of my most loved skirts from Dangerfield as the deer featured in that print have flowers adoring their antlers.

Keresh has adorable little birds on his beautiful antlers and I love how the blue and red pop on the sparkling white. As I was not aware of the name Keresh I popped over to Google and found out that in Jewish mythology, there is a giant stag named Keresh that lives in a mythical forest called Divei Ilai. I love this concept and the end result of this design.

It's clear that he is my new go-to brooch and will be all winter long. In celebration of the release of this range today I'll be wearing this exact pairing.

Jack Lumber - $34.95

I went full woodland theme with my choices from this range and the Lumberjack cleverly named Jack Lumber won me over with his little hat, plain shirt and beard.

Now I'll admit I'm a sucker for that look in general but when I looked at my collection I noticed that I've got so many female brooches in my collection but now fellas. So I knew that Jack had to be a new addition.

What I love most about this brooch is the inspiration he gives me to wear more plain this winter - I'm going to go with the style - Lumberjack Chic.

This year I've noticed a few more male characters in Erstwilder's collections and I hope to purchase more over the next few years.

Based purely on the name alone  I was into the Cabin in the woods brooch as a big old school horror fan. The name always brings images of creepy cabins and big burly woodland bad guys. So when I picked this brooch I was going for a horror theme apposed to an adorable wood shack. Visually I felt Evil Dead vibes and the red door screams Nightmare on Elm St.

The wood grain texture/look on this style is brilliant and much like the beard it really shows just how creative the team at Erstwilder HQ are getting. The choice of glitter in the pin tree also make this little baby pop and as you can see these all pair perfectly with a variety of colours and fabrics. I also love that the little acorns pair perfectly with each brooch.

I usually limit myself with 4 pieces from each release but I think for this season I'm going to take full advantage of the Afterpay on offer and snap up a few more items as I'm just smitten with every single piece.

Many thanks to my photographer and husband for these images. I really think we rocked it as a team and created the perfect winter woodland visuals.
