Spiegel Lust List

Well Melbourne  you are in full swing of summer weather this week it seems but I'm not sure I trust you 100% just yet. So I will always be on the look out for both flowing, soft summery dresses as well as more breezy summer night outfits.

I was recently linked to Spiegel and I've found 3 brilliant outfits I'd want to rock over the next few months. If you have been reading my blog for a while you know now by now that I have an abundance of lust lists. I can't help it! I need EVERYTHING! So with the jumpsuit style still fresh in my mind and summer frocks needed I've found the following for my Spiegel Lust List :

A more modern spin on my usual jumpsuit style. This fitted style will look amazing on an hour glass figure as the peplum will make your waist look tiny. Ad a thick bright coloured waist belt and bring down that waist size even more so. The basic black jumpsuit is a great base for bright accessories and you can change it up with every wear.

I'd pair the jumpsuit with these amazing orange pumps. The pop of colour will look amazing! Currently I'm loving pointed toe pumps again which you'll discover as you scroll down. Orange has been a love for mine for a few years now so these will be so much fun to wear.

So soft, flowing and just screams summer days, picnics and open air cinema dates. The Cerie dress is the ultimate summer frock with a stunning floral print and a more relaxed fit with adorable details. I would wear this style in prints or block colours as it's such an effortless yet chic dress.
 Aurora Pumps - $54.00

Pairing this dress with the more obvious style pump but also thinking about how amazing these would also look with the jumpsuit. This is my stand out favorite shoe on the website. I always tend to swoon for anything in cobalt blue.

Yes I do have a skater dress addiction and I'm proud of it. I wear dresses in this style daily all year round but until now I've never found the write cross over/wrap style I've been after. Again in basic black (it is very me to go all black) with 3/4 sleeves I will wear this dress in every single season. With the pumps bellow in the warmer months and with thick tights, boots and coats in the cooler months.

The wrap is super flattering on my figure and the cross over bust works great with bigger bust-lines. This is the dress you can wear everywhere!

A not so basic black pump to pair with the little black dress above. I love the detail on this style as it gives so much texture and edge to a basic black leather pump. This is also the style I'm looking for to wear on cooler summer evenings as it allows your feet to breath.

All of the shoes I've added to my lust list can be mixed up and paired with each outfit within this post. They all seem to work in their own way and will cover you for both the warm and cool months.

What are you looking for the summer style wise?

Billie Jo Retro

While shopping on the Friday at Viva Las Vegas earlier this year I stumbled across Billie Jo Retro. I was on the hunt for something to wear for the car show and as soon as I saw this adorable jumpsuit, I knew it had to be mine!

I've always adored jumpsuits but I've never found one that fit me 'just right'. Some are too short in the torso, others too long - but as soon as I slipped into this style in a size XL, I knew I had found my suit.

The shorty is inspired by Rosie the Riveter and is my must-have summer staple! Featuring a metal zipper, short sleeves, side pockets and made from a soft cotton spandex, it is an absolute dream to wear... and you can pair this with every belt in your collection.

My go-to outfit with this suit is back-seamed black stockings and heels but for this shoot I wanted to show the Jumpsuit on it's own and paired with simple black accessories. The fit is amazing, I feel so confident and curvy when I wear this outfit.

I knew when I picked this black version up that I'd be starting a life long addiction to this specific style of romper. The Shorty Mechanic also comes in Leopard, Indigo and Red, all of which I need in my wardrobe for the summer. Now I'll need to save up and get the whole collection and wear nothing but these all summer long.

My mother has already set her sights on this and wants to wear it out constantly. I love that even though I wear it in a very pinup way that she can pair it with her more modern styling and create a whole new look. She now has one of her own so there is no stealing to be done!

Many thanks to the extraordinary and beautiful Jaimie Nicole  for her all of her hard work and time helping me out with this shoot. I'm blown away by the results! If you are in Melbourne you need to book Jaimie ASAP!!

I also need to thank Bobby McGee's again for letting us use there amazing and unique venue which is retrotastic! For parties, wedding receptions and photo shoot locations this is your go-to vintage inspired location!

The Summer Wedge

It's time to start planing my summer footwear wardrobe and I'm looking for some really cute wedges to rock over the next few months.

I'm looking for a two main wedge styles to add to my collection. A every day medium height wedge and a super high style for evenings. With specific colours, styles and fabrics in mind I've headed off to my beloved Luichiny to see what is available.

Here is my current lust list :

I need to wear this style every day of the week over the summer. The Dream Of You wedge will suit everything from jeans, shorts, skirt and most of my summer pinup dresses. You will need both pairs as basic black is a given but the yellow is perfect for all the new summer styles.

El La in Orange - $89.95

A perfect pop of colour for any out fit. The sling back and cork base make this style super comfy and easy to walk in. I also love the sweet little bow placed on the peep toe. These paired with a breezy, floral summer dress - so perfect!

The love child of a summer wedge and a 70's platform! This base is so comfortable, I've tried other brands in this style and can dance all night. I need this corked based beauty in my life in every colour imaginable. It's a style that's so versatile and comfortable.

What is your summer footwear staple? What colours are you looking at this season?

Pinup, Curves and Glamour

The time has come to pair up with Australia's most brilliant pinup photographer - Jaimie Nicole, secure an absolutely amazing location - Bobby McGee's - and shoot my all time favorite clothing brand - Pinup Girl Clothing!

I've been dying to shoot some of my stand out favorite styles from Pinup Couture, the Laura Bynes Collection and Deadly Dames. This is just a small taste of what is available at Pinup Girl Clothing and you can get these and more colour options online right now.

The moment I saw the fetish print designed by Micheline Pitt, I was smitten. Featuring whips, pinups, corsets, fetish heels and leather masks - this fabric is deeeeelish! The Courtesan style is a stunning swing dress with a molded bust and adjustable straps. In this style I'm wearing an XL and I originally thought this might be a little large around my waist. But as soon as I shortened the straps, added a belt and a black petticoat it became a perfect fit. I also added my favorite bolero to cover up my arms a little.

My favourite features of this dress have to be the velvet belt and the bra-like detail on the padded bust. This feature gives the effect of a 1950's bra and creates a super sexy silhouette. The pairing of black and red in print also wins me over every single time.

Next up is the Erin dress. Now this is a Pinup Girl Clothing staple and one of their most popular wiggle dresses. This dress suits all body shapes and comes in 6 different colours. I am wearing the Erin in Berry and in a size XL. Now this dress is far too big for my measurements in this size and next time I will be sure to order down to a size Large. With Stretch Bengaline you can get away with sizing down because there is so much movement in the fabric.

As you can see from the bust it is loose and we had to pin this at the back. In a size down this would hug my curves more and make for a better shape. The tighter bust would make your boobs look amazing! So, next order, I will be choosing this in green and in a size smaller. But the bigness of this dress is no issue as a tailor can fit this to your curves with ease.

I'm loving this Berry shade and, as a redhead that is slightly scared of pink in the brighter shades, I have to say this colour is perfect for my skin tone and hair.

I paired this with my Pink Van Essa platforms and the colour match is spot on.

Never in the history of dresses has there ever been a dress more perfect than the Monica! From the moment I first saw this style I was gobsmacked. I'm wearing this style in the XL and it feels like it was designed on my body! With built in stretch bengaline shaper, the Monica will mold to your curves, create the most perfect hour glass shape and make you feel like a silver screen starlet.

Originally I wanted this in black, but the silver is mesmerizing; when the light catches the fabric you sparkle and shine like glitter. The molded bust and off shoulder features are my favourite features. You will feel like an absolute star in this dress.

The Monica has to be the most glamorous frock in my entire wardrobe. As soon as we finished this shoot, I went home and ordered the same dress in red jersey and will collect every colour that exists.

Now I went a little different with my shoe choice as I did not want to pair this statement frock with just any old black heel. So I ordered a pair of black and gold Lovee Dovees from Luichiny. Usually I would not choose to mix gold and silver in the same outfit but as soon as the dress arrived, I knew these shoes were the only ones to wear. The Lovee Dovee style is the same shape and platform as my other Luichiny heels but has a slightly higher heel and is super comfy as always.

Can I have this dress in every colour and wear it day and night please? Micheline Pitt designs what my body wants, needs and what I've always dreamed of. Be it horror or hot rod inspired her designs always make me a little more in love with fashion each new season.

As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I want to take more risks and get out of my colour comfort zone and yellow is my new found love. This shade is the perfect mix of gold, yellow and mustard and it is my new go-to frock.

I'm wearing this dress in an size large as I knew that it would be the same fit as the Juvenile Delinquent dress which I own already - the Large fits like a glove. Usually I'd be a little worried about stripes in the bust but I find the cut of the top and the sleeves to be super flattering and I feel so curvy and sexy in this style.

The the faux leather belt is also a great addition to my PUG belt collection and pairs so well with this dress. This style is also available in a red and white stripe and this is next on my lust list.

Our brilliant location is the one and only Bobby McGee's based in the Rydges Hotel in Melbourne. In my years of location searching, never have I found a more brilliant and unique venue that is perfectly suited to Pinup shoots and Rockabilly/Kustom Culture events. When we walked through the door, our jaws dropped as there are so many unique items, rocking backdrops and different themes. Thank you so very much also to the super friendly and helpful staff that let us create some pinup magic within their walls.

Bobby McGee's is available to hire as a venue for photo shoots, party locations, Christmas work functions and even weddings. I really hope to see more rockabilly related events and parties located in this venue and to see our local and international models and photographers check it out for more shoots.

Oh my Dita!

Today I had the awesome pleasure of meeting the super stunning Dita Von Teese at her Myer lingerie launch!

Dita is down under for two reasons: the launch of her new Myer lingerie range and the the Melbourne Cup where she was one of the faces of Myer, as well as the perfect celebrity judge for "Fashions on the Field" beside the amazing Coco Rocha. So with my Dita Cardigan on and my lips bright red, I headed into Bourke Street Mall and waited ever so patiently with a multitude of admirers.

Wheels & Dollbaby Dita Cardigan  (Sold out) - $190.00

It was an absolute pleasure to finally meet Dita in person! I was lucky enough to attend her runway show in March 2012 and missed her by moments after the event. Today's meeting made up for this and she is an absolute sweetie. Her amazing dress was completely unique and paired perfectly with her extra long lace gloves, fishnet & pom-pom pumps and her iconic hair and makeup.

I was all smiles today and both this and meeting some of my lovely Instagram followers absolutely made my day.

Plus I could not leave without an autograph for the collection and it's lovely to know that she remembered me and  how to spell my name without any prompting.

My stand out favourites from the new lingerie line available exclusively in Myer stores and online right now has to be the Sheer Witchery styles. These select styles are in sizes 10 to 14 and cups from B to DD or E. These were demonstrated by various sized models at today's launch and looked absolutely fantastic!

Now today's event styling called for the iconic Dita Cardigan from Wheels and Dollbaby. I have been featuring this style on my blog since 2011 and absolutely adore the style and fit of this cardigan. Dita's ranges always have a big focus on being able to suit a variety of body shapes and as you can see the they suit curves perfectly.

In case you have missed my previous posts here are a few images to refresh your mind!

The stunning black and red edition photographed by Jaimie Nicole Photography for my first post featuring Wheels & Dollbaby.

The red and black edition shot earlier this year by the by Shauna Phoon paired with the Essential Logo Skirt. Sadly these styles are sold out online but you can purchase both the Coral and the Pink editions.

All in all, a fantastic experience with thanks to the good people at Myer.
