Gothic Mansfield

Last November I featured the amazing luxury knitwear company Mademoiselle X in a full photo shoot and feature. I was blown away with the fit, tailoring and design of each piece and I knew from that point onwards I would be wanting every single release.

In my first review I shot the Mansfield Dress as a cardigan as the pink fabric in size 16 and I love how versatile it was as both address and a cardigan. It was a mini and covered my toosh but I wanted a little more length and as a standard size 18 I wanted to get the best possible fit as well.

Well luckily we were graced with a new gothic pinup dream dress to end 2018!

The Gothic Mansfield Dress is perfection! The exact shame style as the pink dress as shown in my earlier post but in a stunning black knit with limited edition Swarovski buttons! This style has been lengthened and now hits you just above the knee for a more sleek and elegant fit.

The black ruffled portrait collar which frames the neck and cascades down to an open v-décolleté is such a stunning and striking neckline. As a busty girl you can wear it buttoned up fully or as I tend to opt for one or two buttons undone to create more cleavage and that heart style shape.

I'm wearing this gothic beauty in a size 18 and I honestly love the fit in this size so much more than the 16 but I'll be continuing to wear that smaller size as a cardigan for years to come. The knitted fabric does allow lots of stretch so many shapes and sizes can wear each piece. This piece is available in size 8 to 18AU.

The softness of the knit is such a joy to wear as it's delicate and really hugs your curves. While I'd usually find most knitted wiggled dresses scary to wear with all my lumps and bumps I actually feel amazing when wearing this. Plus the lack of gaping in between each button is brilliant! My bust and hips fit without any issues.

Now the  Swarovski buttons version is limited edition but you can also snap up a version with the original black velvet buttons for $170.00. So you it all depends on whether you're into a little sparkle or all black.

I've paired this stunning style with sheer black stockings and nothing else as this piece shines brightly on it's own. I can't wait until winter when I can style this with more tights, gloves, coats and lace up boots.

BlackMilk Sparkles

It's BlackMilk Clothing review time!!! This week I'm excited to be reviewing a few of my favourite pieces, each with their own style, sass and effortless brilliance.

My go to size at BM is XL so for each piece I review here will always be that size or for kimono an open size. So lets dish!

When the Christmas range was released, I loved so many pieces from the jackalope print to the sparling romper but there was one magic ruby red glitter wonder that I had to have in my life.

This stunning faux wrap dress made my jaw drop when I first saw it online but I had no idea how amazing the glitter fabric was until I got it in my hands. A shimmering stretch red fabric with a floaty non restricted sleeve, the ever so flattering on a big bust wrap neckline and a skater style skirt.

I'm such a sucker for any form of wrap dress and this piece really has my heart. You'll be mesmerized by the shimmer, and the compliments will keep coming. I've only worn this once, but so many people stopped me just to say how stunning this piece was.

The size and fit is perfect as the wrap bust accommodates many different bust sizes be it big or small it will show off your best features and the deep neckline really packs that wow factor. Just be sure to wear a plunge bra or boobie tape in order to get that perfect bust look.

Length wise I'm happy to say that even though this style sits above my knees it covers the toosh perfectly and I have no flashing fears. Sometimes I worry that my behind might shorten the skirt too much but on my 5'6.5 frame it works perfectly. The reflective glitter effect really does make this dress stand out and as you can see the skirt falls perfectly over my hips.

I live in midi lengths at work as they look sleek and work with the amount of movement I do daily. When I first tried BlackMilk I was searching for the best skater skirt on the market and they answered my prayers with two styles! Now they have rocked my socks of with the best 3/4 style midi skater style dress!

I always gravitate to all black, and this is a must have wardrobe piece for every woman. The soft fabric is an absolute joy to wear, and it shows just the right amount of skin. The scoop neckline works perfectly with my bust and the sleeves really firm and thin out my arms. This piece also has pockets! The soft fabric is an absolute joy to wear, and it shows just the right amount of skin.

This fabric is multi seasonal as a mid weight easy dry stretch fabric much like the kind you'd find in all of the Blackmilk leggings and skirts. Cool enough for the warmer months if you like to cover up and perfectly paired with warm coats, boots and stockings. I can't wait to style this throughout 2019.

Wanting to stick with a sleek all black look I've paired this piece with my new Kreepsville666 bat waist belt in an 2XL/3XL. I've found the fit on this one a little too roomy but a few strong stitches will fix that as I ordered the wrong size. I love how the gun metal grey pairs with the black fabric used in this midi dress and I know I'll be pairing all of my Kreepsville belts and other harnesses with this style all year long.

Sticking with the midi styles as I find they compliment my figure the most I also snapped up the Koson Flowers Rio Midi. What drew me to this stunning floral number was the peekaboo and bow plus the flowing cap sleeve. The location of the cut out is just beneath your bra line so you'll only be showing a little upper tummy skin section. I've always had a soft spot for designs like this and I wear them showing off the little touch of bare skin with pride or if I feel the need I pair it with a black bodysuit beneath.

find these almost 40's style sleeve so flattering when you have larger upper arms and perfect for summer wear as the skim the upper arm apposed to tightly wrapping it. The flower print is absolutely stunning and something I've not had the pleasure of including in my wardrobe until now.

The bow tie feature in the middle of the bust is a separate piece and can be tied to your personal preference or comfort level. I personally adore the fit on my bust and can't wait to wear this out over summer. This will be a definite favourite for those superhot evenings in beer gardens and maybe even some daggy dance floor moves.

I find this style so flattering I hope that there will be more versions of it in the future. Be it other colour ways or even a non-cut out version for colder weather. It'so amazing that it needs to be in every single BM print!

Now that I've figured out the perfect size for me in all BlackMilk garments, I wanted to ask if you, my lovely readers, would like me to review any specific garments from their collections? I'm going to be featuring more over 2019 but I also want to help you guys with all your fit questions.

I'm all ears and keen to try other styles as well as my core go to pieces.

Thank you to Liz for capturing each of these pieces perfectly and always making me giggle on each and every shoot. I have no class when we get together!

In Full Bloom

Over the past 2 weeks Erstwilder have been tempting the brooch loving community with stunning previews from their latest In Full Bloom range.

Modeled by the adorable, super sweet and absolutely stunning Miss Victory Violet, this amazing collection features some of the most beautiful floral pieces I've ever laid eyes on. Deigned by  Carmen Hui Art and Illustration this collection comprises of beautifully crafted and created flowers and houseplants .

For this release I actually went out of my accessory comfort level ever so slightly and ordered the large statement necklace. I'm always wearing small necklaces or pendants and this year I've decided to go in a more epic direction, embracing larger pieces and more ornate creations.

My first two pieces from this collection had to be the absolutely stunning roses. This version of the Lily and rose bunch necklace the size Large which is 16cm wide. This epic piece really does create the effect of a blooming punch of stunning flowers and the attention to detail within both the roses and the lily really do make eat petal and feature pop.

I've only recently become a fan of roses and what I love about these pieces has to be how well they have mimicked and created a very real petal texture in both flowers and lets face it there is nothing sweeter than a deep red rose!

Being the owner of 3 cats I can't have Lily's in my home anymore but I can wear them as accessories while keeping my fur babies safe. I just adore how the Lily takes pride and place in-between these two red roses and the soft pink really compliments the other pieces.

I've paired this stunning piece with the single red rose brooch and I love how magical they look when worn with one outfit. This piece pairs perfectly with each and every brooch, necklace or earring from the collection of shines when worn on it's own.

Out of all of the house plants featured in this collection the Monstera brooch really called to me. I'm always searching for large leafed ferns and this piece is one of my dream potted pretties in reality.

I've got a folder full of background inspiration for photo shoot locations all involving the stunning big and bold leaves of this amazing plant and now I can wear it.

The reflective resign in 3 stunning shades of green make this piece really true to reality and I love how well it pairs with the rich purple shades in the vase. This piece has inspired me that much I need to have one of these in my home!

Lastly but in no way least I have another bold statement necklace! Yes I'm really going to rock amazing pieces like this!

The string of pearls necklace is an amazing creating that perfectly replicates the hanging basket house plant of the same name otherwise know as Senecio Rowleyanus.  Comprising of a white glittered bowl with cascading green almost pea like strings of these dark and light green pearls.

While the rose and lilly necklace was all about a bright and bold bunch of flowers this piece showcases how stunning a hanging plan accessory really can be.

What I love most about these larger, statement necklaces is that you can wear them with both low and high necklines. They pop on any base and really do stand out in the best possible way.

Which is your favourite from this fantastic floral collection?

Decadance

I've been waiting ever so impatiently for the dress of my dreams to be released. A stunning lace swing with the perfect sleeves, an amazing neckline and pockets! What is this magical dress you ask? It's the Vixen Decadence Swing Dress. From the moment this design was previewed it was on my lust list. Waiting for it to arrive at my favourite Australian based stockist, Natasha Marie Clothing was the hardest part but once the shipment arrived I got my order within days.

If you've not noticed yet I have a minor obsession with lace dresses with bright pops of colour beneath. From my green and black wedding dress to the recently shot 'not so wedding dress' with a soft grey underlining I'm 100% in awe of stunning lace creations.

The Decadence Dress to put it simply is magnificent. Featuring full bishop/balloon sleeves and a stunning neckline finished off with a stretch lace and ribbon trim. The body of this piece comprises of a soft stretch ponte while the exterior lace is a soft imported Chantelle lace that has so much stretch and the look is completed with a 1 inch black belt.

What I love most about Vixen pieces is the fact that no matter what shape or size you may be they will flatter your figure and make you look and fell like a star.

I'm wearing this piece in a 2XL and the fit is super roomy. That roomy in fact that I'll be tailoring this down to more of an XL. I was silly when I preordered this piece and did not read the 'size down for a more fitted feel' recommendation. I'll definitely be wanting to size down to the XL in the all black version be it the swing or a wiggle ASAP. Tailoring this to be more fitted at the bust and waist should be very easy at the black/zip area of the garment. I love my bodices to be super snug and secure so this is a must. With the fit as is I can fit snacks down my bust he he he.

Once I zipped up this piece, I fell in love with the stunning design features, though, and how they complimented my waist, bust line and hid my upper arms. The lace ruffle and ribbon features at the neckline make your boobies look amazing and the fitted waist compliments my curves.

The Bishop sleeves make me swoon as they cover up the bits I hate the most without adding too much bulk. Plus they are light enough to wear in the hot heat of our summer.

The bright red pops through the black lace so perfectly at creates such a bold and iconic look and lets not forget about those hidden pocket. I've never owned a lace garment with deep pockets before and this piece offers the superdeep Vixen pocket we all love without compromising on the flow of the fabric in any way.

I wore this piece on Christmas Day, and it was an absolute dream! So comfy and I could have avoided a purse as there is that much room in each pocket.

I've paired the Decadence Dress with my beloved Pleaser corset heels and took some style inspo from the Designer herself with a wide brim hat.

This piece is available via Natasha Marie in a variety of sizes in red, black and the wiggle versions which I'm super keen to try! If you are local to Australia be sure to snap one of these amazing lace dresses ASAP!

Wax Poet Clothing

Today I'm so very excited to bring you a full review of a label I've been dying to wear for many moons! Wax Poetic Clothing was created in 2014 by Johanna and Bryn Stull, a dynamic duo with the shared dream of making beautiful garments in the USA!

Every silhouette draws on inspiration from vintage fashion, yet has a more modern, forgiving fit. They work with the best sample makers and factories that they can find, and only use the prettiest fabrics! Beautiful florals and stunning prints are their signature, and as they continue to grow they plan on adding their own textiles to the mix. Each production run is extremely limited, so if you see something that catches your eye, don't wait - it's likely to be gone forever before you know it!

With a limited run you can be sure that what you purchase will be both a truly amazing piece but also not owned by every single pinup around the globe. For this shoot/review I wanted to feature both separates and dresses, focusing on fabrics, fit and just how wonderfully and comfortable I feel in each garment.

Black Ella skirt - $45.00
Shoe Me CHLOE-02 Black Faux Leather - $108.95

Each item shown in this review has been created from a soft and stretchy knit. There's not need for zips or anything restrictive as these pieces hug your curves and are amazingly comfortable. I was silly and did not read the description close enough so I was so pleasantly surprised when I finally got to feel how soft and stretchy each piece was.

Now I'm such a sucker for a leopard print top and the Raquel neckline has been something I've had my eye on for a while now.  Featuring 3/4 sleeves, a v neckline, ruching at the shoulders. This combination creates a flattering figure hugging shape and really compliments both large and small bust lines.

I'm wearing an XXL in each Requel item from Wax Poetic Clothing and an XL in the skirt.I can honestly say they fit like a dream as they have so much stretch and the fabric is so soft and comfortable.

The top is perfect for tucking into skirts, shorts and high waisted pants but for me nothing pairs more perfectly than the Black Ella Skirt. A stretchy twirling piece of magic in clothing form the Bella features a super wide waistband that's perfect for tucking in both the Raquel or other blouses.

This piece drapes perfectly and the amount of lift off you get when you twirl this baby is absolutely amazing! Pair it with or without a petticoat depending on just how much volume you are looking for.

After falling in love with the Raquel top I knew that the dress version would be an absolute dream on my curves. It's such a joy to be able to wiggle my way into a garment without zips as I'm forever annoying my poor husband with my zip demands. But with each piece featured here I can slip them on an off with ease.

The Raquel dress is AMAZING! Flattering on waist, bust and arms and the fabric is so soft you'll have to double check your not wearing your PJ's. The Edelweiss print is a stunning floral purple based fabric and I've never owned such a colour before but this is the start of many more purple and plum shades I think.

The design feature I love most about the Raquel dress has to be the bust combined with the fitted waist that really nips you in and flatters my hourglass shape. I can't wait to style this all year round with cardigans, coats and heaps of accessories. The fit really makes you stand back and love your waistline and bust and you'll be swooning over the delicate floral print.

What's my advice when you find a perfectly fitting frock that completely compliments your figure? Buy every print and every colour! With the success of the Edelweiss print it was only natural that I needed the Raquel in solid black as well.

These lightweight amazing pieces will be my go to dresses for the summer. The soft and breezy fabric is an absolute joy to wear during an Aussie heat wave. Effortlessly chic and able to be worn all year round with a variety of accessories and layers.

My Wax Poetic Clothing addiction is now in full swing and I can't wait to add more pieces to my collection.

Many thanks to Liz for capturing each piece perfectly!
