Heart of Haute

Over the last few years I've had the pleasure of shooting and reviewing lots of brilliant garments from Heart of Haute (formerly Heartbreaker Clothing) and last year I even got the chance to both meet and shoot with Mandie Bee while I was in the US for Viva Las Vegas! With an ever so slight name change Heart of Haute are creating even more stunning designs for girls of all shapes and sizes.

Together we have joined forces once again to show off some brilliant garments for you, my lovelies! A  few weeks ago, we filled the back seat with frocks and shoes and drove up to Bendigo to shoot my current favorites with Katherine Davis Photography. In the middle of a heatwave we rocked out my favourite styles with the most perfect Aussie summer backdrop.

Now some items are available right now on Heart of Haute and some are sadly sold out. I'll be linking back to available items.

Madeline Dress in Blue - Sale for $69.00

Now this dress has been discontinued at Heart of Haute website but I've searched the internet and found it for you in all sizes and on sale! This is the ultimate Mod dress for work or play in the cooler months. The thick fabric is super soft and stretchy allowing the dress to hug all your curves.

I'm wearing each style in this post in the Extra Large and I've found that this style specifically fits me very well but would like to get it taken in a small amount as I want it to hug my waist a little more as I've clipped the waist a smidgen. The Madeline dress fits my bust and waist like a dream though and really makes an hourglass figure pop.

I adore this dress and would love it to come back in every possible colour. It's perfect for work or play and feels amazing on. The collar and cuff details are adorable and I love the almost Alice in Wonderland look of it.

The lightweight, curve hugging and super soft Terri Top is the best stripe top I've worn in years! Usually having a curvy body you tend to fear horizontal stripes but not me, I love them. This top is beautifully constructed and works so well with my body shape.

In the perfect shade of blue, it will fit in perfectly with all nautical inspired items in my wardrobe. This top works perfectly with both small and big chest sizes. The gathered bust does wonders for large and sits higher if you don't have such a large bust.

I've paired this with my favourite pencil skirt and a nautical inspired waist belt. Such a simple combination but it works so well! The Terri Top is also long enough to wear over jeans and skirt and layer throughout the year.

The Monique Dress is a super flattering summer dress with a high neckline appropriate for work or functions where you don't want to show much bust. Without seeing this on a model my size I was unsure of the fit and if it would suit my curves. But the simple matching fabric sash belt nips me in at the small of my waist and makes my curves pop!

This fabric is amazing! The colour combination paired with simple red accessories is stunning and you can also get the Amber Rose fabric in both the Maxine Dress and the Hilda Dress. It's the kind of fabric you want in all styles.

The fit on this style is spot on for my measurements. I can't get enough of it and will be getting many different versions in the future. This style will be brilliant layered when the weather cools down and with boots, tights and cardigans in the cooler months.

Love this dress? Well you can get purchase this flattering and stunning shape in heaps of other prints

So many to choose from!!!

More amazing fabrics to make you drool. The Maxine dress is a showstopper in the Rose blue, white and red floral print. This dress is designed to show off the small of your waist and make you look and feel amazing. I love the gathered skirt with pockets, the contrasting red ties at the neck with the sweetest bow and the general shape of the dress.

In an XL this is as per usual a spot on fit and a dream to wear. The higher neckline shows off just a hint of bust but not too much. I think this style would look great on smaller busts as well. There is also a back tie so you can tighten or loosen the waist to your liking.

Almost a shirt dress, almost a dinner dress the Jolene is a rocking little frock that everyone should have in there wardrobe. Designed to made to accentuate the bust line and tuck in the middle it gives a bust hourglass girl like me brilliant shape.

With contrasting black panels and a matching waist belt in the same fabric it creates the illusion of a great bust and tiny waist.

While this dress fits both my bust and my arms perfectly the waist was a tiny bit loose. The fabric belt helped with cinching the waist in but a thicker more sturdy belt would do wonders I think. I also adore the On The Dot print as it's a welcome change from the normal pinup polka-dot style.

The Etta is a dress version of the Ella Top which I have in my collection and absolutely adore. The dress version fits fits as it does in the top variation, buttoning up at the front with a super cute tie at high up one the collar. This then buttons all the way down and flairs to a skirt. Now this dress was a strange fit as it's two pieces - one for the top half and one for the skirt.

My new Ver Mont Luichiny Wedges paired perfectly with this baby blue dress and I love the almost 70's platform feature. These are super high yet feel like you are walking on air. Such a brilliant summer shoe!

Around the tummy area you have the second piece that is the bottom of the skirt. This gave me a really strange shape and I had to cinch in the waist to make it work with my figure. Although as a whole this dress is super cute and perfect for summer.

You can also purchase this style in top form with fabric options including Bees, Raining Cats, Kitties, Anchor, Mini Daisies and Black. I think after trying both the dress and the top, I'm still 100% a Ella Top fan and need every print asap starting with the adorable bees.

Thank you to the brilliant Mandie Bee for styling this shoot and for Katherine Davis for braving the scorching heat with me and shooting up a storm! Be sure to like Heart of Haute on Facebook and you can also follow Katherine's work on her fan page.

Summer Lust List

Now that the Melbourne summer is in full swing, I'm stocking up on my must-have items and looking for some key new pieces for my beach bag.

After the heatwave of evilness last week, I've been searching high and low for accessories to rock over the next month or two. I will admit I've been hiding from the sun as much a possible but now it's time to get sorted and out there!

So here is my Summer Lust List :

One of the funkiest beach towels I've ever laid eyes on. You can find this rocking towel and many others included tiki girls, bats and more at Sourpuss Clothing. I'm a sucker for nautical and octopus designs.

The one item everyone needs this summer! I'm as white as a ghost and never tan so 50+ is perfect for me. I've tried many but I love how smooth, non visible and pleasant smelling this style is.

Sunglasses! The bigger the better is my motto when it comes to protecting your peepers from the sun. I'm swooning over this striped, polka dot over-sized designer sunglasses from Vision Direct. They carry every designer brand you can think of in all colours, shapes and sizes.

I adore this retro almost Jackie O style frame and the mixture of polka dots and stripes makes me swoon. I also noticed that you can buy designer eyeglasses on their website as well which is brilliant!

I'm living in headscarves this summer. They can be worn in multiple ways, hide away a messy beach do when you are on your way home and when not at the beach can be worn in lots of pinup styles to add a little more funk to a cute top, tank or shirt. Sourpuss has so many different styles and colours these are just my stand-out favourites.

Some super cute and versatile thongs that you will live in all season. I have always had the standard thong (flip flop to my UK and US readers) but I recently purchased this pair from Cotton On and I love them! They are comfy, match all outfits and never seem to tarnish.

Then finally you'll need a carryall to fit all your summer goodies in. While purchasing the bow thongs I stumbled across this nautical themed beach bag and fell in love. The simple strip fabric and knot/rope design pairs with all my lust list choices and looks fantastic. With a price tag just under $10 how can you go wrong?

What's on your summer lust list?

Vanity Project - Made by Limb

I have found the MOST amazing, brilliantly crafted and stunningly printed dresses on earth, if not the universe! My lovely readers I must introduce you to Vanity Project - Made by Limb.

A UK clothing brand based in Woodend Mill, a converted cotton mill in Greater Manchester, nestling at the edge of the Pennine Hills where its mostly sunny and hardly ever rains - Can I live there please? Creating vintage inspired dresses with the modern woman's shape in mind.

Now this is a image heavy post so please keep looking and reading! All images were taken by my main girl for all things outdoor, natural and stunning - Katherine Davis Photography in Bendigo, Victoria. She is an amazing photographer that specializes in Weddings so if you are looking book here asap!

This super flattering, perfectly constructed and stunning dress has me smitten. With a faux wrap bust, full pleated skirt, 3/4 sleeves and waist tie this dress has everything I look for in a garment.

The design nips me in at the waist, shows off a great amount for my bust but yet not too much. The full shirt and fitted waist means I get the full hour glass figure I love so very much.

Rainbows trying to sneak into my shot!

I'm wearing the Day Dress in a size XL which is equivalent to a UK16 and the fit is spot on for my measurements. Even my rather large chest fits in the very fitted wrap style bust line. This garment is made from 100% cotton so there is not much give to the fabric but if you follow the size chart you will get the right fit.

As you know I'm a little cowboy/cowgirl theme crazy these days so the fabric was what initially drew me in. Red cowgirl pinup print not what you are after? Well there is a blue version and a black version of this exact print! Western not your cup of tea? Not to worry as this dress is available in a total of 29 fabric variations!!!! So there will be one that is just right for you.

Vanity Project is not limited to this one style of dress either. You can find 10 other vintage inspired styles on their website with many different print variations. So many choices, so many prints! You will feel like a kid in a candy store.

I adore this dress not only for the print but the fit is just perfect for my figure. I want another 2 or 3 different fabric versions of this exact dress to add to my collection. I also adore and want a few versions of the Retro Frock which is a super cute sleeveless number.

These dresses will last your for many, many years and will be a brilliant investment. So why not add your favourite print and favourite style to your wardrobe right now. I will be! I can't get enough of Limb!!!

Sorry for the photo overload but as you can see this dress looks amazing shot in trees. I've even given you guys a smiling shot of me which is really rare but I loved it! I'm laughing at my fiancee Jay as he is posing like me off camera. He was an amazing wardrobe stylist for this and many other shoots.

For more updates on styles, new prints or just to get in contact regarding sizing you can 'like' Vanity Project by Limb on facebook. Such a wonderfully, friendly and helpful company. If you invest in a dress from Vanity Project you will never, ever regret it.

Outback Bunny

It's that time once again. Time for a full blown Hell Bunny post featuring my current favourites from the latest range.

To help me create this post, I teamed up with an amazing local photographer Brooke Orchard who specializes in pinup and retro styles. From the moment I found her folio, I was smitten! Brooke has an eye for that real 'retro' look and creates the most amazing imagery.

Our location for the shoot was an very old empty farmhouse located just outside of Melbourne. This location was so fun to work with! Hope you all love the results as much as we do.

So enough chatting; let's talk clothing!

Now that I've worn this outfit, I think I will have to live in it every day for the rest of my life! The Red Bandana skirt is a cute western print swing style skirt that is brilliant for day or night. The print is very cute and the closer you get the more you see hiding within - skulls, wings and little pistols!

I'm wearing this skirt in a size Large. This is now my go-to size in all Hell Bunny garments (on very rouged backs, I can even work a Medium). It fits my waist perfectly and has ample room for the petticoat beneath.

I've paired this with my beloved Doris Top from Pinup Girl Clothing and Eye Doll Platforms from Luichiny. The Doris is a must have for any pinup wardrobe as it matches everything and does wonders for boobies!

Catrinas Dress - £39.99

How stunning is this print? The Catrinas Dress is a new bust style from Hell Bunny. An almost peasant drawstring-like bust that has a pull cord to tighten or loosen the area. I chose this dress in a size Large and while it is fits my waist perfectly the bust is a little small for my GG chest.

The floral and skull print is really unique and like many other Hell Bunny frocks they have cleverly disguised skulls as a print which always makes me happy. My favourite feature is the thicker floral border on the bottom of the skirt. Pairing this with any complimenting colour petticoat will give you the extra volume and shape as seen here.

Western Cardigan - $55.00

The ultimate cardigan for any western loving pinup! Made from a stretchy rayon, spandex and nylon mix, this cardie is figure hugging and super soft. I'm wearing the large and it fits my waist, bust and high hip perfectly. With the usual western motif's and buttons on both the back and front in a bright and eye catching red this cardigan really pops!

Now this style does go up to a size XL but with my measurements I prefer the Large as it's a much more flattering fit. This cardigan also pairs perfectly with the red bandanna skirt at the start of this post as they both feature the same skull/wing design (this is featured on the back of this top).

Now that I've tried a Hell Bunny cardigan I'll be collecting the whole range! Such a great style to wear all year round.

You can't take the horror loving lass out of me - Never!!!! One of HB's most loved dress styles and the go to dress for any rockabilly/retro girl. The 50's style swing dress flatters all shapes and with the thick halter strap covers even the thickest of halter bra straps.

I absolutely adore this print!!! This dress is covered in scary words, dripping food bits and all things awesomely gross. The bright print is perfect for anyone that loves having an outfit that attracts attention. I think I'll wear this baby a whole lot this summer.

Wearing this style once again has sparked my love for the 50's dress from HB so I have now added this style but in the Catrinas print to my lust list and possibly a gingham style if I can find one!

More western goodness! Now when I first saw the new pencil skirts in the catalog I actually wanted the matching red and skull version of this style to pair with the western cardigan. But the moment I laid eyes on this blue and black design I was sold. I love the mixture of traditional western features i.e the arrows and piping mixed in with the heart lockets and deer skull (on the rear).

I'm wearing this skirt in an XL as I've not purchased a fitted style like this from HB before. I'm really impressed with the fit as it hugs me in the right places and is fitted firmly all over. Now the Doris top I paired this with is a little larger fitting (many years of wear) so there is a little bit of loose fabric but with this skirt you can tuck in most tops with ease and they barely show through.

I'm blown away with every item in this post and can't wait to shoot/try/review more of the Hell Bunny styles next season. Be sure to click all links and if you are looking for a closer retailer you can ask Hell Bunny directly on their facebook or via google search.

Be sure to check out Brooke Orchard's website and like her Facebook Page asap. Her work is absolutely amazing and I can't wait till I get to work with her once again.

Hello Petals

Happy New Year my lovelies!!!

I hope you have all had a brilliant and safe holiday season. 2014 brings with it a whirlwind of positivity and I can't wait to see what this year holds for me and for those I love.

To bring in the new year with a bang, I thought I'd share my latest photo for Parody Petals and link you guys to the best hair flowers on the planet. So sit back and have a little window shop as this is a rather photo packed post!

Possibly the best skirt I've worn/modeled in months! I'm head over heels for this high waisted black wiggle style. It fits like a second skin in a size Large and will give a little over time. I adore the button features as well as they side split that shows off my tattoo perfectly.

An awesome wiggle skirt will give you a very curvy rump and this one fits my ample toosh perfectly!

I loved this skirt so much I purchased it shortly after this shoot as I can't live without such a perfect pinup staple. This style is also available in grey with black accents and at $35 why not have both?

I have a huge soft spot for beautiful hand crafted hair flowers and the moment I saw this stunning red rose I knew it was leaving with me. The lace details on each petal really make this flower pop and I've not seen this mixtures of textures before.

I loved this rose so much, I purchased the Black Sequin version with my next order. I've currently got my eye on the Purple and Dot Lace Flower and I'm sure any other style that will be released I'll snap up asap.

Parody Petals also offer custom hair flowers so if you like this style or the black and want polka dot fabric or a different look they can help.

They also offer a great selection of pill box hats! Here are a few of the ones I modeled.

Now I've always been a fan of Pill Box hats but I've never really worn them until last year and I find they so fun to style with. Be it worn on the side with a huge victory roll, in the middle for an Alston Jackie O look or with a mass of curls they are a brilliant accessory.

My stand out favourite from the all the styles online right now has to be the fine polka dot style. Mixing my favorite print, netting and a super cute bow, this style will match so many items in my wardrobe.

I usually wear this style on the side but after seeing all of these images I'm really loving the Jackie O style of wearing the hat. These are my stand out favourites from the store but you can find these and more accessories online right now.

This could be my ultimate accessory! A mixture of my favorite flower style, polka dots and a net veil. This is that stand alone accessory for special occasions and I would love to get this in my collection as soon as possible.

Parody Petals also sells a huge range of corsets. This style is not online yet but I wanted to share the image with you anyway because corsets and curves are perfectly paired. You can find the whole range of corsets available here. I've also made a request that the next shoot we do has to be full of corsets, so watch out guys! It will be boobtastic!

I did my own makeup on this shoot and I need to tell you guys about a product I'm going nutty for at the moment.

I was gifted the new Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation to try out from Coty. I was given a choice of colours (there are 8 in total) and I went for Ivory and True Ivory. The 103 True Ivory is the most perfect match I've found in years and the mousse texture blends wonderfully.

I wear two styles of foundation regularly. I like my thin almost barely there variety for day time and a thicker and long lasting style for photo shoots and night time. The Stay Matte style is perfect for shooting, reflects light in all the right ways and looks great on camera. This style also lives up to it's long lasting promise and stays on your skin without breaking apart.

If you are looking to try a new foundation I highly recommend this Stay Matte style paired with my favourite Rimmel Stay Matte powder.
