Ruby Red

The ultimate in knitwear has returned my fellow Dollbabies it's red hot! On Sunday I gave you a sneak peak into the new colour ways available for pre-order and today I wanted to show you just how brilliant this style looks on curves.

The retro inspired cardigan sweater comes encased in a collectible French Armoire illustrated box inspired by the glamorous world of Dita Von Teese.

I'm wearing the new red Dita in a size 16 which is actually a size bigger than my other version. I think this years edition is very true to size and has a stretchy yet snug fit. My previous version through so many wears has loosened up over time but still retains it's fantastic shape. The fabric is super soft and molds to your curves without constricting your arms or bust.

I find the fit of both really rather similar but I do prefer the 14 in this style. The bonus about wearing this in a 16 means I can also button it up to the top without any form of gape or button popping. But being a lover of a good cleavage top I'm sure this will rarely occur.

Back when I reviewed my first Wheels & Dollbaby cardigan back in 2011 I was unsure about fit but now I know that all stretch items in a 14 and yes even in a 16 fit my measurements (41-33-42) perfectly. These items fit true to size but I think the 16 Dita will fit up to an 18 with ease as it's so stretchy. My Essential Logo pencil skirt shown in these shots is still one of my go to items to pair with tees, shirts, tanks and pretty much every top option in my wardrobe. I'm wearing this style in a 14 and it molds to your hips and waist with every wear.

The red Dita Cardigan is a show stopper and really stands out so I've paired this with black accessories and a red beret to compliment the delicate embroidery detail, pleating and velvet bow and buttons. Shortly after this shoot I changed into some high waisted disco pants and a black beret which took the outfit to a whole new level.

Many thanks to the fantastic Shauna Phoon for snapping a few shots of me in this stunning cardigan. Shauna is not only an amazingly talented photographer but she also creates the cutest accessories over at Sucre Noir! She also supplied the perfect accessory to compliment my French Spy style look her own vintage binoculars hand pained in gold leaf - divine!
