True Diva

For years I've been absolutely smitten with the amazingly designed and tailored styles of Trashy Diva. But until recently I've never had the honour of wearing any of their stunning creations as I was unsure of size and what exact styles would suit me. My fears have been thrown out the door now as I've found my perfect size and fallen for 3 stunning dresses!

The moment I laid eyes on the Asian-inspired Green Kimono Collection I was totally taken with the green floral fabric. When I fall hard for a fabric, I love to get the perfect style or shape for my curves and with the Obi 4 Dress I've found a great new shape that I've not tried before. A classic 40's style sleeveless dress with bold black accents to create shapes and curves. I'm wearing all of these styles in a size 14US and they are perfect for my waist and bust. My favourite features are the Obi style waist belt that can be worn in many different ways, the cross over bust and cheeky keyhole shoulders.

The rayon crepe is an absolute dream to wear in this super hot summer weather and it feels amazingly light yet hugs my hugs me in all of the right places. But this style can be styled into Autumn and Winter with ease by adding wraps, cardigans, tights and leather knee high boots. There is so much fun to be had with accessories and lots of 40's themed hats, gloves and jewelry.

I can't explain how much I adore this fabric and this dress is just the tip of the iceberg! There are 4 more designs in this collection and each suit different shapes and sizes. So if your busy or not so busty you will find the perfect style, cut and fit with any of the following dresses. Trashy Diva also has a brilliant size range with styles in available in US 0 to 20!

1. Trashy Diva Day Dress - $159.00

Now let my introduce you to the most amazing halter neck dress I've ever worn. It's taken way to many dresses in many different kinds of fabrics to find the right halter for my large bust but Lena has won me over. With a stunning sweetheart shaped neckline and gathered bust this is not a simple summer dress. Part of the Trashy Diva Bridal Collection this stunning style in Dragonfly Stain is perfect for bridesmaids or even a very non traditional bride (like myself). I adore the fitted and lined bodice as it nips me in and the waist and hugs every curve, giving me that Marilyn Monroe style silhouette. The 14 is perfect for my measurements and I can't wait to wear this again.

As I mentioned previously this style is one of many stunning dresses featured in the Bridal Section of Trashy Diva. While I'm wearing colour on my wedding day I know many pinups have a hard time shopping for the perfect retro inspired wedding dress. Trashy Diva have a brilliant selection of both colour and white options for both you and your bridal party. The Lena style comes in 4 more colours as shown below and you can also find boleros and accessories and jackets in this section. The missing dress was featured at the start of this post as it is a part of the Kimono Collection.

Then lastly the Eva Marie Dress which is another limited edition style. This Olive (almost mustard) shade was chosen to suit my red locks and super pale skin. The construction of the this style is outstanding as it's lined, fitted both in the bust and waist and sits perfectly on your arms with a little cap sleeve. Unlike the previous styles this dress has little to no stretch so if you are unsure of which sizes works best please double check the size chart. The 14 is a very tight fit on my GG bust and I would even be game to wear this without a bra so there is no flattening of the chest area.

I absolutely adore the super thick fabric and how it keeps it's full skirt shape. The rhinestone and pearl beading are also stunning and I hope this style is released in a darker colour eventually. I'd love to have this in a rich red or emerald green.

Next on my lust list for Trashy Diva have to be the following two styles for the cooler months ahead. The new Chinese Opera print is stunning and the I absolutely adore the high necked, ruffled polka dot printed race car dress.

Many thanks to the beautiful Brooke Orchard who as always has wow'd me with her amazing eye and photography skills. It's always the best day of the month or week when I get to shoot with her and I can't wait until April when she photographs my wedding!

Miskonduct Klothing Review

Recently I was sent the most amazing dress from MisKonduct Klothing to review. Apon opening my perfectly presented package I swooned for this amazing vintage style, lush fabric.

Trashy Diva Sophia Dress - $179.99
Belt Torrid (sold out)

The Sophia dress is sophisticated as her name. 40's styling with a deep sweetheart neckline which is lightly gathered around the bust. It features a gorgeous bustle back made from the most divine quality cotton. This style is amazing but sadly I seem to have shrunk since it's arrival and it's now too big for my lower half.

I'm wearing this dress in a 14US but I think a 12 would be much more suitable as it swims at the bottom. Even this style has a A-line style skirt to it it just din't sit right on my curves. This could also easily be taken in by a tailor but I think a size down is the better option.

The construction of this dress is perfection, very flattering and perfectly suited to any occasion. I opted to wear my own belt for this shoot to make the garment fit my waist better.

So now that I know my size in this specific brand I will now have a better understanding of what to to pick next.

Now as it did not fit well on my lower half here is what you miss out on seeing, clicking the link to the garment via the webstore will show you the full length images though.
  •  Slight Aline skirt with a gathered bustle effect in back.
  •  Matching belt included.
  •  Back invisible zipper.
MisKonduct Klothing has now opened a physical store (the grand opening was yesterday) so if you are local get in and visit this brilliant store and spend, spend, spend! I can't wait to pop in on my next interstate trip. It looks like my idea of heaven!
