Short It!

Leopard print - Check!
Short - Check!
Super Cute - Double Check!

It's  that time of year again when you want to slip into some really cute shorts and I've found the most amazing pair from Torrid

Now I'm a short addict. I have black, blue, grey, bright red and super shinny black shorts in my collection but when I saw these adorable leopard print short shorts I needed them asap!

These were super tight when I received them but luckily I lost a small amount of weight and they are a now the perfect fit. I'm wear them in a size 12US and they have a small amount of stretch. At the moment with my Lilly white legs I'm not game enough to wear these one their own so I paired my shorts with my amazing new stockings from Yours Clothing.

These are such cute stockings and it's great to finally be able to find printed, garter and sexy stockings that come in sizes bigger than One Size Fits All. These are the size 16-20 and they are a good fit though as you can see a little loose around my knees ad they have a lot of stretch. They are also really great if you are tall which can be an issue for a lot of women.

These awesome shorts are available in sizes 12 to 24. If you want these to be a little looser or are unsure of fit I'd advise you to go up one size larger for comfort.

Thanks to the dream team - Lucky and Rice for snapping these shots of me!

Spring has Sprung!

A week into Spring already and we have had the most lovely sunny days. With weather like this i start looking through my wardrobe again wishing i had more spring/summer items to wear.

So what do I do? I start window-web shopping of course!

This is what I'm currently lusting over.

ASOS Midi Dress in Embroidered Lurex
- $132.98AU

Floaty fabric, stunning colours and a really stunning print. I'd wear this anywhere and everywhere. Be sure to check out the runway clip via the product link to see just how beautiful this garment is when you move.

New Look 40s Collar Dress - £29.99

There is only a UK size 16 left in this style sadly but I had to share it with you guys. Simple yet absolutely stunning.

ASOS Extended Cape Sleeve Top - $62.06AU

I love the look of this with pants but I'd love to see this with a black pencil skirt and a little cami underneath. Wearing this more as a floaty and light cape or summer weight jacket.

Speaking of pencil skirts this spotted/sheer fabric has won me over. Its in my cart waiting for pay day!

City Chic Tuille Beaded Dress - $199.95AU

I feel in love with this on the catwalk back in March and I'm still amazed by the styling. I will try to get in store to try this on over the weekend. Ideally I'd love to wear this with my leather jacket mixing the soft feminine fabric with the rough/rock feel of the leather jacket.

City Chic High Waisted Shorts - $69.95AU

They are back! I've been waiting on these for so long. I own a pair of these in black that I featured at the start of the year and I've wanted the blue ones for so long. The black will also be making a come back shortly. I will have to pick up another pair and any other styles City Chic have out over the summer as I'm a short's addict!

Wheels & Dollbaby Signature Print Cardi - $190AU

Pretty in pink and goes up to a size 5 (16)!!! I love how danty and sweet the colour/print combination is. I'd wear this with my LBD, shorts, jeans and pencil skirts!

ZU Corvina Wedge - $180AU

Lastly this pastel and wood super high wedge. I've formed a shoe crush on this pair of beautiful shoes from Zu. They remind me of ice-cream or gelato with the sweet blue, yellow and peach tones.

So what do you have your heart set on this season?

Who wears short, shorts?

I wear short shorts! I'm sorry but I had to do it, what else would have worked with such a post?

I've been looking at shorts for 2 summers now and I've always been hesitant about actually wearing them. Its the usual girly image battle will my legs be ok, will my butt look good, will small children run in fear?

Well this year I'm biting the bullet and I would like to introduce you to my first pair of shorts!

As soon as I saw these Black High Waisted Shorts - $69.65 (only indigo can be found as well online) at City Chic and I knew that they needed to be mine. As soon as I slipped them on I discovered they are pretty much perfect for my shape, I'm wearing a size 14.

Now I know that as a plus size woman the concept of shorts is rather daunting. I read so many women on facebook saying that these were too small that they would never wear them as they hated their legs. Well I don't love my legs either ladies, I have all the lumps and bumps everyone one else has and yes cellulite.

So my advice for wearing shorts is :
  • Wear them with killer heels - They elongate your legs and shorts need this.
  • Don't wear them with flats if you are not 100% comfortable with your legs.
  • If you feel the need to cover up a little more add Opaque stockings or Fishnets
  • Find a pair that are a comfortable length for you.

Now onto the rest of my outfit! This is my favorite top at the moment (size XL), I only got it last month now I want a version in white and in red! The Doris Top -$52.00 from Pinup Girl Clothing is perfection in top form. I might buy a size smaller in the other colours as this is really roomy. I also picked up these vintage inspired sunglasses to finish off the look from the same site for $18.00. They are sold out online but there are many cute pairs in the Sunglasses section

These shots were taken by my lovely friend Michael Alesich from Lucky and Rice. He is a brilliant photographer and I'm so happy he is able to help me out by showing off the garments!

I was also mentioned in City Chic's blog, so please go read it if you have not already written by the wonderful Danimezza!
