Inspired Insanity

You may have heard the name Inspired Insanity before on my blog as I've linked to their stunning selection of petticoats and cardigans over the last few years. But recently they have actually started their own line of garments and I'm absolutely smitten with the fabrics and cuts!

From sweet florals to flamingos, skulls to strawberries and my absolute favorite - death moths!

Peasant style swing dresses have always had a spot in my heart and the Butterfly Effect tea dress is amazing - full skirted so you can twirl all day long, fitted at the bust and waist to really accentuate your curves. I'm wearing the size 18 to accommodate my bust and it works out to be a fit much like the 2XL in Hell Bunny. The waist has a little bit of room and the fabric minimal stretch so be sure to accommodate your bust then tailor the waist if need be. I find right now I get perfect fit on my waist at times but then it's looser at the waist but for this style I'm loving the fit.

I did have some issues with the zip at one point but the staff at Inspired insanity were very fast to send me a replacement and fix the situation with ease. They were so sweet and happy to help which just what you want out of your shopping experience.

This print - pure magic! Full of Death moths/butterflies and lots of skulls! It's dark and spooky so obviously I adore it!

Next I have one of my all time favourite winter coats from Hell Bunny! If you've followed this blog for a few years you might have noticed I have a huge HB coat collection and once I own one I usually order every colour way. For many years the Shonna fur deep v neckline coat was my go to but this year I've snapped up the Mikaela and it's perfect!

A swing almost nautical winter themed coat (is that a thing, well if it's not I just created it) with bold black faux fur cuffs and hood! The black velvet border trim, pockets and bold waist panel make this the prefect coat for curves as it draws the eye to the small of your waist and has a belt like effect.

While most of my coat are red or black I can't say no to teal as it's perfectly paired with my red hair and this specific shade of teal is absolutely delicious.

Size wise I opted for the 2XL as these boobies need heap of room. This style buttons up with ease and as the arms are super roomy as is the waist. You can layer up like crazy beneath as there is room for a thick cardigan or dress in these sleeves.

I wanted to shoot this coat with a little more neck and boobie showing as sometimes a full button up can shorten my favourite features. The length is covers your toosh and pairs perfectly with skirts, frocks and jeans. I can't wait to style this when it gets super chilly!

For this look I wanted a pair of gloves that really pop so I chose my beloved black and lilac polka dot leather gloves from Have to Have.  These really pop against the teal and look amazing. These have become my go to glove each winter and they are they last forever.

Many thanks to the amazing Julz Photography for snapping these shot of me! I can't wait to plan our next shoot!

Introducing Vivien and Shonna

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Hell Bunny and their stunning selection of coats. Each and every year they create the most divine winter warmers, and it's my desire to add as many to my collection as possible. After getting my hands on the Shonna Coat in burgundy at the start of the season, I was instantly in love and new that I would need at least two more styles this winter and one more Shonna colour way. Yes I know this is greedy, but I'm a sucker for a stunningly shaped winter coat and these are two styles are absolutely divine!

These coats were both a dream to wear and a necessity on this super windy winter afternoon. My photographer Brooke Orchard who is half my size even wore one of these while shooting as it was raining and mighty chilly.

I can't help myself when it comes to teal; it's absolutely perfect with my pale skin and red locks. So when I saw the Vivien Coat I needed it instantly and the colour choice was pretty obvious. The Vivien coat is designed perfectly for the hourglass shape. It follows the curves of your body and the fit in the XL is almost like it was tailored for my body. This style is available in sizes XS to 4XL and comes in teal, black and burgundy from the link I've attached.

The design features are large flat collar with black velvet like fur detailing and matching cuffs. Covered buttons just under the bust to nip you in at the smallest part of your waist and a full and long skirt. Fully lined and stunningly constructed, this coat is worth every cent! Every season I find myself adding an extra coat or two to my collection and I can honestly say that these Hell Bunny styles are worth every dollar/pound. They last forever and look amazing and they make you feel amazing!

I finished this look with my favourite wide brimmed felt hat from Asos, which is a great winter alternative to the normal straw version and black leather gloves. This is a coat that needs very little accessory-wise as it's amazing enough on its own. Simply pair this with your favourite little black winter dress and you are done! Wearing both this style and my black or burgundy Shonna, I always get so many compliments or people staring in the best kind of way.

Well I said when I reviewed the Burgundy Shonna coat that I needed one of each colour, and slowly my dream is coming true. I've finally got the stunning Black Shonna in my hot little hands and I'm wearing it nearly every day this winter. The fit is a little roomy (as I'm loosing weight at my waist) in the XL and in future I will size down for this specific style. It is however, just like it's burgundy twin, the most divine creation in my wardrobe.

From the fur detailing, which is fully removable, to the length and the luxurious thick fabric the Shonna is the one style I'm never letting go of and will wear it to death. The comfort factor for this coat is absolutely amazing. It's roomy enough for an extra layer or two and pairs wonderfully with so many colours.

I've paired the coat with some simply red wool gloves and a deep red beret - my go to styling options this winter. I love the pop of colour against the dark black fabric and fur. The fur cuffs and collar also add an extra dimension to this stunning piece.

I'm so happy to have these amazing coats in my collection and I can't wait to see what future season bring for the winter styles from Hell Bunny.

Many thanks to my brilliant photographer Brooke Orchard for braving the cold and rain to get these images! Through the shivering and rattling teeth, we managed to get these winter warmers shot perfectly!

Oh My Shonna

This winter I've fallen in love with a stunning winter warmer named Shonna from Hell Bunny's winter coat collection, a calf length and very formal looking style winter coat featuring black faux fur cuffs and a matching collar.

Unless you've been hiding from my blog or even my Instagram, you should know that I have a coat addiction. I own around 15 winter styled coats, 7 of which are bicker jackets and 4 which are leather biker jackets. From plaid to gingham and core colours such as teal, navy and black, I own a selection of motos, trench coats, water fall jackets and even a tuxedo jacket.  Until now I've I've never owned a longer style non trench coat and this is definitely going to change from this point onward.

The Shonna coat is magnificent! A super thick long length number that not only keeps warm on the coldest of days but instantly makes any outfit more regal and elegant. This coat has enough room around the waist and in the sleeves to fit the many layers you might need this winter but still keeping that hour glass shape. As with all my other Hell Bunny coats I'm wearing this style in a XL and it's an amazingly comfortable yet faltering fit. The deep V neckline gives me a little extra room in the bust and I love that I can show a whole lot of cleavage whole still keeping warm.

Whenever I wear this coat out people either stop me on the street to tell me how much they adore it or I just get a whole lot of stares (in the best way possible). It gives off both a old Hollywood depending on how I choose to style it. Then paired with my favorite winter items and on a dark and gloomy Melbourne day it almost has a Brothers Grim fairy tale style about it.  I've fallen hard for this coat and need to get my hands on both the black and the teal version as soon as humanly possible. They are so easy to wear and style, every woman needs a Shonna in her collection.

I paired this coat with a more spring time style to show just how easy this can be to wear with pale and soft colours. The Annalise dress is a stunning pale floral swing style dress with flowing layers, a fitted waist and a cross over bustline. A new style from Hell Bunny with more delicate and intricate design features. I'm wearing and XL in this as I tend to wear in all Hell Bunny items but due to the complete lack of stretch in the fabric my bust did not fit into the very structured bodice/cupped area. This style is a great fit everywhere else but if I wanted a perfect fit in the bust area I would have purchase one size up. So if you are over a D I would recommend you size up!

Asides from that one fit issue it is an amazing fabric and I would love to see this in a swing style skirt with a belt. The flowing layer would look amazing in a full skirt and with additional colour ways such as black and navy the styling options would be endless all year round.

From the moment I ordered this Shonna coat I need exactly what shoes I wanted to pair with it. For the last 12 months I've been searching high and low for a pair of  lace up,  knee high black boots with a little edge and a medium sized heel. It's been harder than I expected to find such a product but luckily Shoe Me Gorgeous came to the rescue. Featured in the latest Bettie Page Shoes catalog were these lace up faux leather an faint skull printed boots were EXACTLY what I've been searching for. With scalloped edging, a mixture of faux leather gris grimly skull printed fabric and velvet detailing these boots are amazing. With a gothic fairy tale edge these are unique but also pair wonderfully with everything in my wardrobe. From dresses to full style swing skirts, over jeans of paired with stockings and pencil skirts - The possibilities are endless.

I have recently found out that Bettie Page shoes unlike brands such as Bordello are closer to the Australian size range that others. So if you are ordering this brand be sure to stick to your AU size. I found the top of this boot rather roomy and they will easily fit over jeans and super thick stockings. Now these are not listed on the Shoe Me Gorgeous  yet but if you are interested in purchasing them please contact them via the website or on facebook and they will be able to order you a pair asap.

As you can see I love this coat that much I used it in two different photoshoots! Many thanks to Julz Photography for the first image with the amazing hair and makeup of Cherry Bombshell Beauty. I would also like to thank my awesome photographer Michael from Robin Elk Photography who snapped these images straight after our LuWow shoot! What change in look! I love how it works perfectly with both a pinup hair style and a more creative and high fashion hair look.
