Monster Mash

While Halloween might have passed my wardrobe will forever be filled monsters, gothic gowns and retro raglans covered in horror goodness. For me these styles are not limited to one month a year and you'll see me sporting my Ben Cooper pieces all year round.

For this shoot I snapped up my favourite ghouls in skirt form and made the hubby dress up in matching raglans. The bright colours of the Ben Cooper range really pop and I'm loving each and every piece works together.

This top has been a constant staple for me and I could not envision a better bright pop of colour and pattern to be worn with my monster skirt. I wear the Bad Girl Top in a 2XL and the fit is absolutely amazing. Plus it's super flattering on a busty lass like myself, I know many large chested ladies avoid high necklines like this but it's really great for your curves.

I paired this orange striped piece of perfection with the The "Monster Mask" Print skirt that features the famed "Vampire Bat Girl", "Creature" and "Frankenstein's Monster", all based on 1960's masks created by Ben Cooper costumes. This piece is retro perfection - so bold, strong and bright! This is my first panel printed skirt and I have to say it's making me swoon.

Fit wise I'm wearing a 2XL but it's super tight at the waist. The stretchy cotton sateen will give though so I'll be stretching this out and if it's still too tight getting my tailor to add an extra piece to the waist band. The full gathered skirt  features a 1.75 inch waist band and due to the fusing it will zip up but my waist is overhanging so I highly suggest sizing up in this specific piece. How perfectly do these two pieces pair together?

Next up my all time favourite casual piece of clothing - the raglan or baseball tee. I'm 100% addicted to this style and have a wardrobe full of different prints and colours.

When I first saw the Mummy print on this tee I nearly lost my mind! Micheline has created a stunning visual that suits my ample bust without any morphing and it looks great on both guys and girls. Jay and I are wearing size Large and they are stretchy, soft and long enough to wear tucked or un tucked. These are a unisex tee so be sure to read the measurements and order accordingly. I love my raglans being a little looser these days so the Large was a perfect choice and it look amazing on my fella, I always love a man in a baseball tee.

We paired our raglans with simple black skinny jeans as this is pretty much a casual daily uniform for both of us. I also snapped up the 'Monster' Frankenstein women's tee in an XL but I did not shoot it as I have DIY plans for that piece. Fit wise it's perfect though and I find that for 'tees' I can size down with ease to XL's. Micheline announced a little while back that she will be releasing Moto jackets in 2019 so I ordered this tshirt to be my ultimate Vixen horror moto back patch. I'll be covering the jacket with all things horror and Vixen related and I can't wait till preorders for that piece go live.

Things got a little silly once we stopped posing and then my husband ran off with my wig and id his own version of my poses - cheeky bugger!

My amazing wig was created by Australia wig QUEEN Styled by Esther and I can't wait to order more styles.

Many Thanks to Liz Fleming for capturing this super bright outfit for me and shooting my husband and I together.
