Monster Mash

While Halloween might have passed my wardrobe will forever be filled monsters, gothic gowns and retro raglans covered in horror goodness. For me these styles are not limited to one month a year and you'll see me sporting my Ben Cooper pieces all year round.

For this shoot I snapped up my favourite ghouls in skirt form and made the hubby dress up in matching raglans. The bright colours of the Ben Cooper range really pop and I'm loving each and every piece works together.

This top has been a constant staple for me and I could not envision a better bright pop of colour and pattern to be worn with my monster skirt. I wear the Bad Girl Top in a 2XL and the fit is absolutely amazing. Plus it's super flattering on a busty lass like myself, I know many large chested ladies avoid high necklines like this but it's really great for your curves.

I paired this orange striped piece of perfection with the The "Monster Mask" Print skirt that features the famed "Vampire Bat Girl", "Creature" and "Frankenstein's Monster", all based on 1960's masks created by Ben Cooper costumes. This piece is retro perfection - so bold, strong and bright! This is my first panel printed skirt and I have to say it's making me swoon.

Fit wise I'm wearing a 2XL but it's super tight at the waist. The stretchy cotton sateen will give though so I'll be stretching this out and if it's still too tight getting my tailor to add an extra piece to the waist band. The full gathered skirt  features a 1.75 inch waist band and due to the fusing it will zip up but my waist is overhanging so I highly suggest sizing up in this specific piece. How perfectly do these two pieces pair together?

Next up my all time favourite casual piece of clothing - the raglan or baseball tee. I'm 100% addicted to this style and have a wardrobe full of different prints and colours.

When I first saw the Mummy print on this tee I nearly lost my mind! Micheline has created a stunning visual that suits my ample bust without any morphing and it looks great on both guys and girls. Jay and I are wearing size Large and they are stretchy, soft and long enough to wear tucked or un tucked. These are a unisex tee so be sure to read the measurements and order accordingly. I love my raglans being a little looser these days so the Large was a perfect choice and it look amazing on my fella, I always love a man in a baseball tee.

We paired our raglans with simple black skinny jeans as this is pretty much a casual daily uniform for both of us. I also snapped up the 'Monster' Frankenstein women's tee in an XL but I did not shoot it as I have DIY plans for that piece. Fit wise it's perfect though and I find that for 'tees' I can size down with ease to XL's. Micheline announced a little while back that she will be releasing Moto jackets in 2019 so I ordered this tshirt to be my ultimate Vixen horror moto back patch. I'll be covering the jacket with all things horror and Vixen related and I can't wait till preorders for that piece go live.

Things got a little silly once we stopped posing and then my husband ran off with my wig and id his own version of my poses - cheeky bugger!

My amazing wig was created by Australia wig QUEEN Styled by Esther and I can't wait to order more styles.

Many Thanks to Liz Fleming for capturing this super bright outfit for me and shooting my husband and I together.

Haunted Honey

After falling completely in love with the fit of the Vixen Bardot Dress  it was clear that  the Haunted Honey needed to be on my body as soon as humanly possible after it was released. A stunning collaboration between Micheline Pitt and Ben Cooper the Haunted Honey is part of this years BC collaboration featuring stunning spooky prints on a stunning orange background, monster tees, baseball tops and the most stunningly spooky monster skirts.

I've been a fan of this stunning shade of orange ever since I got my hands on the bad girl stripped top as it's so deep and suit my completion and hair perfectly. Oddly I've gone my whole life without giving into this Halloween shade and I'm shocked!

The Haunted Honey is the spooky dress of your dreams for all year round wear. You can style this up to pinup perfection for a night out, incorporate it into a costume, pair it with flats and bat sunglasses for daytime wear or layer in the winter with tights, gloves and berets.

Halloween shades are all about Autumn and man am I missing those stunning orange and red leaves as it's just hit spring down under.

Lets talk fit! I'm wearing this style in a 2XL and the fit is actually roomier than my Bardot dress in gingham as the fabric is slightly more forgiving and has stretch to it. I found the sleeves tighter on the Bardot and the neckline to be very firm but on the Haunted Honey the sleeves and neckline was roomier and accommodate my curves with absolute ease.

The bodice features the iconic Ben Cooper box art  print of ghosts, spiders, jack o'lanterns, stars and more. The top section is fully lined, front fused  which rocks for my busty shape and has an adorable little bow tie. The full skirted bottom of this dress in solid black makes your curves really pop. The faux pu leather thin belt also helps draw your eye to the small of your waist. I'm not wearing the actual belt that arrived with the dress as I wanted to add an extra spooky element to the look and paired it with my Kreepsville 666 Spider belt in a size L-XL. I only just figured out that this is a wee bit too small but still comfortable for my waist. I have the skull in purple and black and those are a 2XL.

While I absolute adore every single pieces in my collection I had to admit that this is my absolute favourite. There is something so magical and adorable about the print and I just love how it fits me. Like with many of the Vixen range you can wear this with or without a bra. I'm wearing my favourite little black molded Curvy Kate bra but you can choose to go free or even pair this up with a cage style to add that extra oomph.

For styling I kept it simple - a bold black belt and the most stunning Demonia's I've every owned. I've been collecting super thick and chunky Demonia boots and wedges for a while now but when I chose my Halloween looks these were the only shoe that came to mind. After trying the Cramps-10 booties I knew that the amazing base on the 06 version would be my dream shoe.

Featuring a 6 1/4"(16.25cm)  and a Block Heel, 3"(7.5cm) Ridged Platform. The shoes are covered with studs on the upper section and feature a double ankle strap, pointed studs and skull charm detailing. I'm wearing these in a size 10 and they fit perfectly a all of my Demonia's do in that size. The height is huge on these so they ain't for the faint hearted but they really are amazing and so easy to walk in.

The Haunted Honey is a limited release as are all of the items in this print and the Ben Cooper collection. So when they are sold out they will be gone for good. Don't let yourself miss out on any of your beloved spooky prints and order up asap. I could not let my favourite pieces pass me by so I'm currently waiting on an order of  monster tees, a monster mask skirt and a orange and black stripped new troublemaker top.

This style was snapped up from the brilliant Aussie Stockist of all things Micheline Pitt - Natasha Marie Clothing how also stocks a full range of Vixen, UV+Micheline Pitt plus La Femme En Noir items.

Many thanks to Damien for once again killing it with the location and the magic eye behind the camera.

Vanity Fair

It's Vixen time once again!!! With each and every Vixen by Micheline Pitt release I find myself adding more and more to my lust list and snapping up those essential pieces and prints. My wardrobe is becoming half Vixen and I'm mighty proud to wear such amazingly constructed pieces.

For this set I wanted to feature my three hottest must haves from the current collection featuring spider webs, roses, leopard and delicate polka dot mesh.

One of the most wanted and lusted after prints from Vixen this season is the stunning Spider Web and Roses design. Inspired by a vintage fabric and created on soft cotton/spandex stretch sateen. The fully lined and front fused bodice does wonders for your shape and really makes slims and pulls you in.

The Vanity Fair is the kind of style that will suit you no matter what size or shape you are as it flatters all body types. The neckline, fitted bodice and little boxy sleeves all come together to really make my body shape POP and I don't think I've ever felt this confident or comfortable in a short sleeve dress.

I'm wearing the 2XL, and the fit is amazing. Firm but comfortable, flattering and so soft. The element of stretch in the cotton/spandex/sateen really molds to your shape and I have plenty of room in the bust while still having this tight waist fit.

Now lets chat about print - isn't it amazing? Stunning warm pink roses and green leaves paired with delicate spider webs all on a solid black base. Visually stunning and perfectly designed.

Natasha Marie in Australia has plenty of stock for this specific style if you are looking for a great Vixen stockiest. You can also snap the Vanity Fair dress up at Vixen which has just been listed for round 2 preorder.

Oh Frenchie I'm crushing hard on you!

If you are looking for that perfect mixture of pinup and goth, the Frenchie Dress is for you. Featuring 1930s bishop sleeves, paired with a tie neck detailing and fused strapless bodice gathered swing skirt. The soft overlay of dotted mesh is absolutely divine and helps cover up any arm issues while sitting perfectly mid forearm.

I'm wearing this style in a 2XL and it's actually very stretchy as the ponte has lost of give. I originally wondered if I should size down due to the forgiving fabric but as the mesh is rather delicate it's better to stay with your standard size. You don't want to apply too much pressure to it and have a rip.

Such a classic and classy little black dress perfect for wearing all year round. I wore this as part of a dark Queen of Hearts look at the opening of the Wonderland Exhibition and it looks absolutely amazing.

Style for summer or winter with ease. Strappy heels and lots of roses in the warmer months and gloves, berets, stockings and boots in the winter. This style is also available in a wiggle if you'd rather a more form fitting shape.

Inspired but Micheline's own styling I've paired this look with a wide brim black sunhat and red roses. But I also love this dress when paired with gloves and red, black or grey berets.

I don't personally own this style but I've seen amazing curves rock the wiggle and my favorite plus model, Hunter McGrady was recently seen looking super hot in this dress. I'm sure Hunter is wearing a 2XL and how hot does she look?

Lastly, we have the ever so popular Sweetheart Dress in Wilde Leopard. You may remember me featuring the black and white striped version of this dress in previous Vixen posts. This style is amazing on all figures as the sweetheart neckline does wonders for boobies. Fully lined in the bodice and front fused like the Vanity Fair dress this style has a similar fit but with adjustable straps apposed to sleeves.

I'm wearing the 2XL and it's a firm and very fitted style. It fits slightly tighter than my stripped version but I'm not too sure if this is slightly different fabric. I can wear this with or without a bra which is amazing! Micheline always creates magical styles that hold the twins up!

This leopard print is absolutely stunning as well. A lot of the time you can get leopard that's too bright, oddly spotted or poorly drawn but this fabric is perfection.

As I'm not 100% confident with strappy dresses, I paired this with my beloved Velvet Wrap Top in Black. I just adore how versatile this wrap top is as you can wear it on it's own or in this style as a cardigan. It also pairs perfectly with the Leopard fabric and the Spider Webs. The addition of a velvet wrap makes this style able to be worn each and every season. I own both the black and blue velvet wrap tops and I must get any future colours as they are so very versatile, warm and a joy to wear.

Every single dress featured in this post has huge pockets that you'll fall in love with! Big enough to fit the largest iPhones on the market and more.

If you are Australian or NZ based the Natasha Marie clothing is your best store for Vixen goodies but if you are over the other side of the pond be sure to snap up these garments directly from Vixen by Micheline Pitt's website. Links below:
