The Cherry Blossom

Last year I discovered a stunning designer label footwear brand with a vintage twist. Lucky Lou Shoes based in Texas create artwork for your feet and I'm so happy my tootsies finally got a chance to slip into a pair of their hand carved shoes! Inspired by the original 'Souvenir' shoes from World War II, Lucky Lou Shoes has gone from being a small Rockabilly retro company to a cutting-edge shoe design entity. Lucky Lou is still the One True Original!

Doris Top - $54.00

So when it came to shooting this wonderful pair I literally started with them as the base and focus of my outfit and then planned around the look and feel of the shoe. I did this with 3 outfits in studio and I have to admit I really love starting off with a shoe and creating an outfit from there. I focused on pairing the ink black leather with black highlights such as the black Doris Top from Pinup Girl Clothing and then adding a little print with the gingham Parisian swing skirt.

Now let's focus on the main feature of this post - Cherry Blossom with Ink Leather Ankle Strap! While I love absolutely every style available at Lucky Lou Shoes there was something that drew me to the Cherry Blossom. With a classic shape, amazing quality black leather (also available in Crimson and Peacock) and the most intricate hand crafted cherry blossom wooden heel, this style is art for your feet!

I'm wearing a US size 10 and it's true to size. The leather is firm when you first slip into these but after a day's wear it molds to your feet. I really love the mixture of a natural base paired with bold black leather and silver studs. I'm not usually a huge fan of an ankle strap either but the positioning of this one actually elongates the leg apposed to cutting you off at the ankle. These are available in sizes 5 to 11 and if you are a half size I'd suggest going up one size to ensure absolute comfort.

So are they comfortable? Very much so and the 4 inch heel adds the perfect amount of height! These are perfect for pairing with a little black dress or any more cute and casual outfits like I've created here. My current favourite pairing is wearing these with high waisted skinny jeans and leather jackets.

Please note all prices listed are in USD. These are well worth the price tag as they are beautifully constructed and really a unique and stunning shoe.

To top off the outfit I went for a little more sweet and wore my Voodoo Vixen Monroe bag in Red! Monroe in Natural is still available via their website so if you'd like to have the ultimate colour pairing of a natural straw with a tiki heels you must get both!!

It's clear now that I have these amazing heels in my collection that I need a few more pairs of Lucky Lou's. I'm smitten with the Lucky and Rockin' Tiki style and I love how easy they are to style. From cute little summer frocks to causal capris and jeans they look amazing with everything! So my lust list has these two stunning pairs right up top!

If you are on the hunt for parasols and bamboo bracelets you can pick these up via their webstore as well with a stunning selection to suit all outfits and all of their own shoes! Many thanks to Rom Anthonis for shooting this for me and creating some awesome magic in studio!
