Von Follies - Sexy in all sizes!

Last night I was lucky enough to attend the amazing Target Von Follies Runway show featuring designer, creator and goddess Dita Von Teese.

Now I was nearly going to miss out on this fantastic event but as luck would have it Dita was gracious enough to give me two tickets to the show! As we walked in to the space I was giddy, so excited to see the show. I've seen many runway shows before but this one was different! To our surprise when we arrived in our seats we were in the front row!

I actually went to the casting call for this show and walked for the panel in my underwear baring my bouncing bits and tattoos. So I knew just how amazing these models were going to be in advance and I was not disappointed.

Now I'm not a photographer but here are some of the shots from my perspective. At the end of this post I've added more press shots from the Herald Sun and Fashionising.

The show was stunning and an absolute triumph for Dita! Featuring models of different shapes and sizes, different races and skin colours it was a mixture of beautiful and inspiring women.

Dita designed her range so that women of all shapes and sizes could feel amazing about themselves. She did not limit her choice of runway models to standard size 8 or bellow but provided us with a sea of all shapes, sizes and curves. With many plus size models of a size 12/14/16 you could identify with how the lingerie would look on your own body. Seeing such curves on the runway made me overwhelmed with pride!

Seeing all of these amazing women strut, bounce and walk perfectly down the runway was absolutely inspiring. So many stunning bottoms to view from my vantage point and in the sheer lace, polka dots and fishnet - oh my they were even more amazing!

Now to the fashion!

Each set in this range was absolutely lush. With delicate fabrics, lace, embroidery and satin quilting. Models were styled with some items from Dita's own collection, lace masks by Laura Kranitz, top hats, stockings by Secrets In Lace , props (I loved the whips) lounge wear by Palace Costume and Jewelery from Ben Amun .

I've written about all my favorite items in my previous two posts but I have to say seeing all these items in the flesh only cements my love for this collection and makes my wishlist longer.

My stand out favorite accessories where the shoes by Christian Louboutin *swoons* and the amazing collection of capes and capelets!

My favorite looks from the show :

Dita's next range will be expanding the size/cup range so I can't wait to find out more information. The styles above as shown by these stunning plus size models are in sizes 16-20C, D and DD. The plus size models were a mixture of girls from Bella Model Management and BGM and they rocked that runaway!

You can purchase this range in store and via the website.

It was also lovely to see so many familiar faces in the crowd and bump into many friends. I also had the honor of briefly meeting Melanie Greensmith of Wheels & Dollbaby. Then bump into and chat to Natalie Wakeling, Darrianne Donnelly from BGM and her amazing models Kavita and
Melanie!

LMFF - City Chic Rocked the Runway!

Last Wednesday I attended the City Chic runway show at L'Oreal Fashion Festival 2011 and it was brilliant!

Not only did I got to the runway show held in the heart of the city at Federation Square, I also went to the Cosmo in store styling session and the after party - an absolute action packed day!

The show was inspirational and every girl simple stunning!

I adore runway, its one of my favorite aspects of modeling as there is no better feeling than breaking through that nervous barrier and strutting your stuff. The women featured in the City Chic parade did me proud they are strong, beautiful, talented and so curvy!

Best part of the day I got to hang out with Danimezza and Fashion Hayley.

These amazing shots were taken by Danimezza who covered this whole even for City Chic over all social networks. She did an amazing job and I think we must clone her asap!

Adore the top and I always have a big place in my heart for City Chic skinny jeans!

4 of the 5 items designed by Damn You Alexis that will be available next month in City Chic stores.

My stand out favorite from this collection, love the mix of jersey and faux leather. I'm usually not a fan of strapless but this show sold me on the style.

I need this in my life asap, though its a few months away. My jaw dropped when I saw that hit the stage. Its so girly and sweet, white (not a colour I ever wear) but I want to buy this. I'm thinking of pairing it with a black biker pleather jacket and some epic high heels.

The showstopper Laura Wells in this amazing one off design blew me away. I would wear this!! Full of chains, fishnet, leather and lace its stunning!

Look at that twirl!!! I might be a little bias as Laura is my favorite plus size model but I really adore this shot and the whole outfit. Seeing her briefly off stage in casual clothes inspired me also to buy the pants she was wearing. I will leave them for a future post, warning they are shinny!

Then after the parade, we ate horrid burgers, chatted and the headed to the Cosmo Styling session held at the Burke Street store. This and the afterparty were fantastic, If i get any more shots (that I look semi ok in) I will update them to this blog!

Courtney Maxwell and I at the in-store session. She is so sweet, friendly and stunning! I'm wearing my Wheels & Dollbaby Dita Cardigan, a plain black pencil skirt and lace gloves from Sportsgirl. The peach version of this cardie is out next month and you can preorder up to a size 5, I'm getting mine as soon as possible.

If you are in Melbourne on Wednesday the 16th of March and want to see some amazing curvy women walk the runway come down to Federation Square at 12pm and watch City Chic on the runway for L'Oreal Fashion Festival!

Here is a sneak peak at the new items in this behind the scenes video. On my wishlist already is the Zip Up Faux Leather Biker Jacket and the Floral Blazer! I will wear these all the way until spring!

I can't wait to see these models and the other curvy ladies strut their stuff on the runway. I hear Laura Wells is also down for the show and I have to admit she is my inspiration!

Damn You Alexis will also be premiering their collaboration with City Chic ! They have designed 5 dresses that will be available in April and on their blog you can see a small preview of a design - leatherette and jersey maxi dress!

I will be attending alone so if you see me don't be shy, come up and say hello!
