The Adelphi

One of Melbourne's most iconic boutique hotels was our latest sleepover and photoshoot location. After searching high and low I remembered how much I loved The Adephi many moons ago and knew it would be the perfect light-filled and stunning backdrop for my Dita Von Teese photoshoot, and much more.

With the most attentive and super-friendly staff we were instantly feeling at home! We checked into the Premier King room in the early afternoon and went straight into shooting so we could capture the stunning natural light. 

It's those little things that really help you fall in love with a boutique hotel and at The Adelphi it's the little touches and sweet gestures that made us swoon. They knew we were coming to shoot as I had advised ahead so this little message was PERFECT on arrival. 

Now I had not been here since the early 2000s so this was very much a refresh and a new experience for me. During the previous stay I did not get to sample anything such as the bar, pool, etc but this time I made sure to enjoy everything!

The reception area is iconic! Moody lighting, amazing decor, and a horse and carriage desk! 

More moody lighting and amazing artwork adorn the foyer with decent food-themed furniture. I really wanted to run away with the licorice allsorts seats and that strawberry wafer!

When you visit this location be sure to sneak down to the bar for a few glasses of bubbles. We went for their house Prosecco and could have sat on this all afternoon. But shooting had to be done and back up with went to our room.

I used my time very well and shot lots of lingerie and content for different labels. What I loved most was that our room had the lushest fittings, furniture, and perfect light so I could create so many images. 

This is the perfect space for creation and the most comfortable suite and bed I've slept in for a while! While there is amazing natural light you also have the option for blackout blinds. Plus the bathroom was divine in deep dark black tiles. 

The in-room cocktail is waiting in your room and has all the fixings included. For 25 both you and your partner can enjoy this little treat! 

A free minibar is also included in the stay with lots of snacks and some light nonalcoholic refreshments such as OJ, water, etc. 

I process my images straight away and the free minibar snacks really delivered while I edited away. The perfect fuel I needed to get through over 100 photos! 

 

We had to end our Sunday Funday with a swim in The Adelpi's amazing rooftop pool. The perfect summer swim was much needed after our in-room photoshoots and the perfect ending to our day. My love, Jay is forever being the best and most silly human when taking pool selfies. 

I can't recommend The Adephi enough! If you are coming to Melbourne for a short stay and want to be right in the heart of our amazing city this boutique location is for you! You instantly feel right at home when you check in and never want to leave! I hope we can pop back soon for a winter sleepover and create more in another room!
