Winter is officially here in Melbourne! It's my all time favourite time of the year as I adore layering, warm winter coats and all of those stunning chilly weather accessories. This year I was in need of a new winter coat in black and after searching high and low over the internet I found the most amazing piece at City Chic.

A winter coat needs to tick all of the boxes for me in both comfort and style. The Simply Belted coat from City Chic is a stunning tailored number, that accommodates curves and flatters your shape. Many winter styles can leave you feeling like a box but this style really does flatter your curves. 



Featuring a large lapel collar with removable faux fur (Two coats for one price!), double button front closure and a double gold ring removable PU belt. It's fully lined with a silky soft fabric, and the slightly skirted base makes this style great if you have wide hips. I find that many coats can make me look bulkier if they are not this shape or if they have pockets straight on my hips.

Size wise I went for a S/16 to accommodate my chest and this fit is 100% perfect. Fitted yet roomy enough to layer winter knits beneath. The arms are long and extra roomy so I can easily fit a jumper or more under this style.

This style is just so stunning and I'm absolutely in love with both the look and fit. Even as I type this review, I'm wearing this exact outfit at work!!! The fit of this coat is almost like a hug and I've never been this comfortable in a coat.

If you are not in the market for a black coat this winter, this style is also available in all white and it is a must have! After wearing this all weekend, I think I need to snap that up ASAP!

 

Let's also take a moment to admire the stunning faux fur collar. The mixture of black and white makes this piece even more beautiful and the fact that you can remove it with absolute ease means you can style this coat in many more ways.



Cute Belted Dress in black - $99.95

Now I was going to go full winter with this outfit, but I wanted to get a piece that showed off both my shape and could be layered in multiple ways through out the cooler months. After looking through the whole store, I found and feel in love with the this adorable belted A-line dress.

 

 

An amazing shape for busty girls as it sculpts your shape in such an amazing way. The firm fabric really holds you in, and I'm smitten with the absolute ease of wearing this garment -100% effortlessly chic. I'm wearing this style in a size XS/14 and the fit is spot on. With no zip you can easily slip and out of this dress and transform it from day to night with a few accessories. I'm currently wearing this at work with tights, lace up boots and a bold teal cardigan and of course the coat!

I do find this dress to be a little long on me at 5'6.5 so I'll be getting a little length taken off as it hits me mid calf. Other than that it's one of the best fitting LBD's I've ever worn and I can't wait to style this all year round.
