The Bone Brigade Are Back!

This year Erstwilder have blessed us with two spooky Halloween themed releases and I personally can't get enough of each and every piece. For release number 2, Team Erstwilder have brought back the Bone Brigade with a few new friends.

Last season I snapped up the kitten version of these skelly friends but this year I was immediately attracted to the Flamingo and Raven.

As a mad fan of all things pink flamingo related it was only logical that my next step would be to start collecting undead versions of this brilliant bird. This piece perfectly captures all of the brilliance of a flamingo with that adorable macabre vibe.

Seriously how cute is this little guy? Complete with golden crown this flamingo is divine and I can't wait to pair with each and every spooky piece from my wardrobe.

RIP RAVEN BROOCH - $39.95

My second piece and extra feathered (or featherless as the case would be) friend is the Edgar Alan Poe inspired Raven! I've been readying Poe's work since I was a wee kiddo and I've always loved how dark and spooky each and every poem is.

The Raven is one of the most well known and iconic poems from his collection and Erstwilder have capture this amazing creature in brooch form.

Complete with a little red POE novel upon his breast, this raven is by far my favourite piece from this release. Very fitting for an old goth/pinup like myself and a must have for all horror/Halloween collectors.

Which piece will you be snapping up from this collection?

Pretty Poppy

A few weeks ago, I gushed over the UK based Zoe Vine a the stunning styles available in their super pretty Millie Dress. Well, I finally got my hands on another amazing style from the collection and I'm in love!

The Isabelle is a stunning poppy printed swing dress with a true vintage feel. Featuring a high neckline, short sleeves and a full pleated skirt, this style is perfectly tailored to complement all shapes and sizes. The Isabelle comes with a matching fabric belt to create that great hourglass shape.

I'm wearing this style in a size 18 due to the limited stretch of the fabric but It seems I could size down as my weight loss progresses, as this style fits me with room in the bust - no pulls, pops or warping of the fabric. The waist is a little loose but this was easily fixed with tightening the matching belt.

Having a large bust, I usually fear button up dresses and tops, but I threw that fear out of the window and now most of my most beloved outfits have super high necklines. Such a perfect spring style and I can't wait to wear this out!

I wanted to give both a warmer weather and cooler weather option for styling this stunning style, so I've paired Isabelle with my long sleeve cropped bolero from Inspired Insanity. I'm so smitten with these as they match every dress I own and I won't be satisfied until I have them all!  This ruby red bolero complements the poppy print perfectly and I love this pairing.

My favourite mint green petticoat returned for this shoot and I'm having so much fun pairing this with prints. A pinup can never own too many petticoats, I say!

Thank you to Katherine Davis for snapping these shots on this perfect location. We have two more blogs worth of images left from this set then I'm back with her to shoot even more goodies!

Savoir Faire At The Savoy

Today the brand new collection 'Savoir Faire At The Savoy' has been released from Wheels & Dollbaby and I'm gushing over the new prints and styles.

Not too long ago, I released some super exciting news about this new collection and the Wheels & Dollbaby runway show on the 20th of September. I will be walking the runway alongside Dita Von Teese for the Closing Night Wheels and Dollbaby show at The Telstra Perth Fashion Festival! I'm so proud to be a part of this show, and to be the first size 16 Dollbaby this is a dream come true! I can't wait to represent other size 16 girls on the runway and show just how great we can look in these stunning styles.

Savoir Faire At the Savoy is a stunning collection of luxury fabrics, a stunning new Kimono print and some of the most stunning necklines and skirt shapes I've ever seen. A strong focus on 1930's styling, floral décoratifs and gold tassels with a mixture of cocktail hour pieces and flirty crochet items inspired by Paula Yates and her iconic style.

This season's Kimono print was inspired by a 1930's robe in Melanie's private collection and the soft and stunning fabric choices that showcase this print are a must have this season. But the collection is full of so much more than just a new and delicious print! You will find the iconic figure hugging silhouettes and bust enhancing blouses.

My stand out favourites this season are perfect for curves. Being a size 16 at Wheels & Dollbaby I know my shapes and styles very well now and I've created my Perfect for Curves Lust List below :

A stunning floral embroidered cardigan and wiggle dress that I need to have in my collection. The Salon Des Fleurs Lara Dress is absolutely divine and I adore the curve hugging shape and billowing sleeve. There is something to be said about a flowing fabric sleeve like this and it's a style that I have become very fond off since wearing Wheels & Dollbaby. The Lara dress is perfect for curvy dollbabys as it hugs you in all of the right places while complimenting an hourglass shape.

The matching cardigan is the perfect addition to any cardigan collector such as myself. I love the print placement and the simple but sexy shape. This is stunning paired with a simple black pencil skirt and will also look stunning when worn with the Kimono print. Both are available up to a size 16.

A skater pleated style skirt is the ESSENTIAL day wear for me this Summer! This style is so cute and can be dressed up or down. I can't wait to get my hands on the Afternoon skirt and wear it with my cupcake ruffle tops and cardigans.

Then for a more sculpted and sexy style for the evening you will need the Salon Des Fleurs Pencil Skirt. The shape nips you in at the small of the waist, hugs the hips and has a stunning back with the extra addition of an amazing gold tassel. Each of these skirts is perfect for the more curvy dollbaby. Embrace those curves and wear clothing that celebrates them instead of hiding behind boring shapeless garments. Both are available up to a size 16.

KIMONO CARDIGAN - $165.00

I had the chance to try the Singapore Fling Pencil skirt last season and I was not as fond of the style until the moment I laid eyes on the Kimono printed version. The mixture of pattern and plain black fabric with the bold black button makes this an amazing statement piece and I love how it looks when styled simply with a black knit. So chic and so perfect for curves.

As mentioned earlier, the Kimono designed was inspired by a robe from the 1930's in the designers own personal collection. I love how Melanie takes inspiration from both her own vintage collection and both artwork and luxury items. The detailed print makes for one amazingly strong piece and I'm really in awe of this cardigan. I want to style this in multiple ways but I think my first choice would be to pair it with the Afternoon skirt. Why is this style great for curves? Well the print is busiest at the top and bottom leaving a large amount of space in the middle - your waist. This draws the attention to the smallest area on a hourglass figure and it will make your curves pop! Both are available up to a size 16.

PAULA YATES DRESS - $175.00 (up to a size 14)
MATADOR BOLERO JACKET - $330.00 (up to a size 16)

Now for my last two curvy lust list items. The Paula Yates dress is a crochet little black and cream number that is transnational and absolutely adorable. The bold knitted print gives and figuring hugging shape makes this a great little party dress and brings back so many memories of all the good parts of 90's fashion. The feminine grunge that we all loved in Paula's styling has come back in a big way and I'm loving it.

My heart always skips a beat for Matador inspired fashions and the new style bolero has mine thumping! A perfect shape, stunningly accented with gold embroidery this is a must have for anyone who loves to layer as much as I do. The long line shape hits just under the bust and accentuates your shape. Paired with a little black dress and a red rose, it's the perfect outfit.

Vegas Dreaming

My husband (it's still so new to call him that!) and I have recently started to plan our Honeymoon and to make sure we save up for the time of our lives we are planning a year in advance to get the most out of our trip.

Starting in the US we are heading to LA, Vegas and San Francisco! We already know our accommodation and entertainment for each and every location but I'm already in 'what to wear' plan mode. Mary Blair collection items from PUG for our two days at Disneyland, lots of killer pinup outfits for evenings out and heaps of comfy traveling clothes for long road and plain trips. I think I'll be investing in a few more pairs of disco pants for this trip.

On this trip I'm really excited to hopefully set up some shoots with lots of great friends and companies while I'm in town. But what I'm really excited to do is go back to Vegas without a limp! A few years ago I headed over for Viva Las Vegas but 8 weeks earlier I had hurt my left knee so having lots of fun and painting the town red was not on the cards.

Well in 2016 I'm making up for it! I'm so excited to experience the US with my fella and it's his first time on US soil so it's all new to him.

I plan both seasons and years ahead at times - a girl's gotta save! So while in outfit planning mode I've been thinking of what I will need to add to my collection and wear while abroad. I'm focusing on Vegas as I have the rest of my trip covered with 80's of my pinup/casual wardrobe but for Vegas I'm going to go for a little more sparkle.

There are few outfits I'm lusting after right now and these will definitely be in my suitcase for Vegas 2016, well it would be wrong to waste them playing at a mobile casino instead. I missed out on a few experiences last time but with more time and funds I'll be making sure I get to stay and play to my heart's content.

My first outfit choice is for finally seeing Beatles Love at the Mirage with my husband and hopefully an amazing date night in and out of casinos. I adore the fit and stunning fabric of the Gilda dress and having owned the Gilda Gown I know how amazing this style is for curves. The perfect little red cocktail dress and the perfect outfit for a show, drinks and a few games of roulette. The deep wine velvet fabric needs a bold black shoe and I love the matte PU Bordello Teeze style for this outfit.

I did mention that I wanted to sparkle just a little, didn't I? I think the stunning Angelique Collar Necklace pairs perfectly with the deep red velvet fabric. The rich mixture of red. gold and green are perfect for my colouring

Then we will head off the strip and go straight to Frankies Tiki Room! I wanted to visit this iconic retro venue years ago but sadly I missed out. For Frankies, I need the ultimate Tiki dress and the Malibu Dress with matching bolero is one of the most figure flattering dresses I've ever owned. With a molded bust, faux wrap design and adorable bolero this is the perfect outfit to wear while we spend our night drinking amazing cocktails.

But the outfit does not stop there! The accessories are what complete this look and I don't want to take away from the print in any way. A bold tropical hair flower, some bamboo bangles and a killer red pump turn take this dress from simply stunning to a killer tiki look.

So there we have it! 2 days worth of outfits sorted for Vegas. Now to hunt for a day time outfit!

Hola Chica!

Recently I have stumbled across one of the most brilliant Australian based pinup/vintage inspired designers and I can officially say I'm 100% smitten with Hola Chica! A unique label sourced and made in Australia focusing on feminine and sultry designs that flatter all body shapes and give you an amazing shape. Each garment is constructed wonderfully, creating bold shapes and  figure hugging silhouettes that every pinup/vintage reproduction lover will adore.

So with my stand out favourites in the current line I headed over to shoot with the brilliant Brad Blake Photography and his amazing striped wall. I've been lusting after a backdrop like this for years and I absolutely adore what we created!

Hold the presses - I've found the best skirts every created!!! I know I fall in love with most of the garments I review but there is something unique, super flattering and absolutely brilliant about the peplum cut of this pencil skirt. The bold shape from the waist to mid hip creates a super curvy hourglass shape. It slims out a larger frame and adds more hip to you if your built straight up and down - it's works for everyone! The peplum panel also offers enough fabric to hide any problems you may have around the tummy region. Hugs your curves and hides any problem areas - sign me up!

I've paired this with the Prima Pinup top in black which compliments bright red shade of the skirt and works wonderfully with the black featured on the peplum. This top fits like a second skin and is super comfortable to wear. With tops from this label I have to be sure that there is enough of an area to fit my GG bust. The Prima is perfect for my chest and is a great option if you don't want too much cleavage shown. I'm absolutely loving both tops featured in this post paired with jeans and when summer hits with shorts.

A close up shot of the actual height of the neckline. It really a sexy styled peasant top that doesn't give too much away. Paired with a pair of high waisted skinnies for a Tura Satana look.

Now this red hot number is the best of the first two items rolled up and in dress form. Mixing the great fit from both rocking separates and creating a super cute wiggle dress with a 40's vibe. Now I'm wearing each item featured in this review in a size XL and they are a perfect fit. This dress though super tight is comfortable and hugs my curves in all the right places.

Now I adore most red frocks but this one is extra special because of the perfectly place black trim, belt feature and button details. They break up the bright red fabric and add that extra little bit of brilliance. My favourite feature has to be the fold trim on the bustline and the shape it creates.

Now even though this is the same style as the top featured previously you will notice that a little more cleavage pops out the top. Due to this being one garment it seems to have a slightly different fit than when separate. It still fits like a glove but note that there will be more cleavage in the dress vs the top.

Now in the last year or two I've been trying to break free of just black and work with florals, bright colours and things that I'd usually not be game enough to wear. I adored the Flora print when I first saw it but I was unsure if it would suit me and with the base colour of white if it would make me look even more hippy. Well I think it's safe to say that is simple brilliant and I'm in love! This tropical splash of colour is just want I need for my summer wardrobe and I will be collecting everything ever made in this fabric.

With another take on the wiggle shape this skirt style offers the a half peplum style that comes from the waist and sits mid hip. This offers an almost ruffle effect and gives me a brilliant hourglass shape. The fit is AMAZING and while I'd usually be a bit worried wearing a pale print I actually feel amazing in this.

Looking at the multicoloured print I would not have picked a dark colour like black usually but the solid shade looks brilliant when paired with the brightness of the skirt. Made from high quality stretch cotton sateen this top fits me like a second skin and is amazing for my bustline. I do naturally like to show a little more boob so this works perfectly for me. I also adore the cap sleeve detail and the way it molds perfectly over my shoulders and upper arms.

I was asked to review one of their adorable dresses and my heart nearly skipped a beat when I flicked through their website and found the Look at the Stars dress.

This is one of the most adorable prints I've ever seen. Retro inspired mermaids, sail boats and a stunning water and starry sky adoring this fabric. This dress is 100% cotton and fully lined on both the bodice and the skirt. This is one of the most brilliantly crafted dress I've worn! Heartbreaker, Dream Maker

Since the day I slipped into my first dress from Heartbreaker Fashion I've had a long term addiction with this amazing pinup brand. They create classic styles, adorable prints and some of the most brilliant separates for every day to evening wear. You know my addiction to their Betty Bolero's all to well as they feature on most of my outfits - I can't help it they match EVERYTHING!

But this time I thought I'd show their styles straight up without any cover ups. I don't really like showing my arms but its summer and dammit I need to come to terms with them! Braving the wind (which was nutty) we shot these images in Williamstown in front of a stunning ship.

Flower - Andy's Eye Candy

How appropriate is this dress  for my location? A perfect work friendly summer dress in soft and thin cotton which is brilliant for our super hot summers down under. The bust line does not show too much skin which is different for me but Heartbreaker always manages to make me love dresses that cover up the bust. It's just my love for their classic shapes and quality.

This style and all the other styles featured is in a size XL. The Hilary dress is a perfect fit for my measurements and with the back tie you can loosen or tighten the waist with ease. So flattering and cute! I will wear this with my red Betty Boleo in the future.

Tara Top in Stripey - $39.00
Belt - My own collection
Flower - Andy's Eye Candy

One of the many super cute separates available via Hearbreakers online store. I'm always a sucker for stripes and this top is so versitle. The XL is a perfect fit and the fabric although stretchy is strong and firmly fits on my curves. I wanted to show you the full length of this top as you can wear it out or tucked in. I love the look this gives when paired with high waist skirts but I also love it left out or even paired with skinny jeans.

My only issue with this top is the neckline. I love the shape and the amount of brilliant bosom it shows but the   edge tends to roll strange on me. It won't sit properly which might just be how it works on my bust. But don't worry I'm the only one that noticed this and I've already worn this multiple times!

The prettiest little cherry print I've ever seen, so adorable. The Beverly dress is is a classic. With a round collar, self tie and brilliant full skirt this dress is brilliant. The fit - 100% perfect! I'm usually not a fan of cherries but I love how this fabric is almost more of a floral print.

I paired this style with a simple black waist belt and bright red pumps. I find all of these styles so flattering for my bust and waist.

Monte Carlo Dress in Lake - $145.00
Flower - Uncle Fezter

Now for my stand out favorite!! The first time I laid eyes on the Monte Carlo I knew I had to own this dress. From the Heartbreaker Haute Collection  this dress is absolutely divine. Every little feature is perfect and I'm 100% in love with it. The fit, the swing skirt, the sleeve length and the fabric covered buttons and matching belt have my heart. When I first tried this style on I thought it had honestly been made for my body.

Just look how the skirt sits naturally - this dress is PERFECTION! The Monte Carlo also comes in Red, Rust and Smoke. All of these colour options are needed in my wardrobe. The colour is even more divine in reality, it will make you swoon I promise.

I'm loving these new additions to my Heartbreaker collection, what is on your wishlist? I'm hoping to get my hands on these in the new year.
