Bedroom Makeover - Inspiration

After many years of living with the worlds most boring and basic bedroom it's finally time to upgrade from bland to something that will suit both my husband's and my own personal style.

Right from the start I've had a very specific colour palette/scheme in mind. Rich warm browns, caramels paired with cool blues and crisp whites. I've searched online, made printrests and I've been saving all of those little bits and pieces of inspiration.

Since I was young I've had an obsession with interior design and creating the most perfect bedroom. Over the years my tastes have obviously changed but the inspiration and drive is forever in me.

I'm also the kind of person who plays The Sims only to create 100's of homes and never actually play the game. I could spend hours and hours pairing furniture paint and floor coverings and be 100% content.

So I'm super excited to get started on my own space and I can't wait to create the perfect room for my husband and I to relax in each and every day. I have to say my bedroom is my haven and it's the one place I need to feel completely content.

I've been searching, grabbing inspiration from interior design blogs, local furniture companies and some stunning textile designers. With my preferred palette in mind I'm on a mission to create my dream space.

Now over the next few weeks you'll be seeing just how I progress with my makeover and how ineffective and horrible my current room really is. From poorly designed furniture that has lasted less than 3 years to our bits and pieces shamble set up.

I'm absolutely sick of fast fashion and fast easily broken furniture. So in my search for classically created and real hardwood pieces I came across and amazing Australian based furniture company who ticked every box.

B2C Furniture have been creating a buzz due to their focus on creating hardwood furniture with sustainability in mind. So this past weekend we went to visit their Dandenong South based showroom to see their products up close and personal. While shopping online is brilliant I'm also wanting to feel, test and see up close each piece.

I can't wait to share every single aspect with you!

Uncommonly Brilliant

This week I've stumbled across as brilliant web store that has taken the next step to ensure our future is a little bit better on planet earth and the people with in it. Uncommon Goods have are changing the way business is conducted by making sustainability a part of their decision making and working together to create a friendly, socially responsible and an ever-more rewarding place to work.

With so many big businesses doing more harm than good, it's great to see a company not only looking after their own workers but also giving back to the world around them. They provide Handmade, Recycled and Organic Products, supporting artists and small manufacturers. They have a goal is to sell no product that harms humans or animals. They also recycle as much as possible with printing their catalogues on recycled paper and give back to non profit organizations.

Upon hearing this I was instantly impressed but their products are what really sold me 100%! I love the simple yet stunning and earth vibe of the stunning Jewelry range which you can find here. My current lust list is jam packed full of their amazing jewelry.

Did you have a Kaleidoscope when you were a kid? I did and absolutely adored it! Now you can mix your love for seeing the world different shapes and colours with a stunning silver necklace. This is a functioning kaleidoscope in the cutest form.

If you don't know already, anything nautical themed has my heart and these compass necklaces are amazing! Each compass includes a hand engraved message on the back: "Find your way and follow your heart". It's the perfect accessory for you and your partner. The ball chain also makes this style very unisex.

How cool is this? A visual representation of the a heartbeat in worked into a sweet silver necklace. Such a delicate piece that people will instantly have to come closer to look at and understand. Gotta love an accessory that keeps people guessing.

I have to say that this is my stand out favourite piece on the entire website. I miss having a typewriter in my life and would absolutely love to wear a little piece of one around my wrist. The mixture of black, white, letters, full text and punctuation make this a perfect piece and I love any bracelet that has a toggle closing. Gimme Gimme!

As the name suggests this is a recycled bracelet made from an actual vinyl record! If you are anything like my husband and I and have a soft spot for records you will absolutely adore this piece. It's big, bold and unique and I love the silver interior as it breaks boldness of the record. I really need this baby in my life.

Maidenhair Cuff - $49.10

This cuff brings me back to the days of pressing flowers in books with my great grandmother. Another stunning natural piece with ferns within the resin. This is so soft and delicate to look at but the boldness of the cuff makes it a real statement piece.

You can find the entire collection of necklaces and bracelets via their store right now and start shopping like crazy. Now I  just need to find the cash so I can add all of these to my collection.
