Alpine Butterfly Swim

For the past year or more I've been lusting after the curve friendly swimwear label Alpine Butterfly but I've been waiting until the perfect release to pull the trigger. Then like an absolute whirlwind the Selena collection was released and I feel in love with a little pink fringed two piece.

The Te Amo Selena Bikini is the tasseled retro swimsuit of my dreams. A soft pink two piece covered in tassels will make you want to shimmy and shake your way through summer.

With adjustable shoulder straps, you can create that perfect custom fit and look adorable without any effort. The perfect pale shade of pink inspired my accessories and a simple bow head band is all I need to complete this look. What's even more brilliant about this piece is the fact that you can take the top from the pool then out on the town as an adorable crop. This piece definitely needs to be worn on the dancefloor.

I'm wearing the Te Amo set in a size 2XL and I wanted to have enough room to accommodate my bust as the top is not cupped.  Size wise this two piece is perfect. I think if I had of sized down the fringe detailing might not look as perfect as it has limited stretch. The adjustable straps also help you get the right fit for your own bust and if you want to wear this piece out a strapless bra will hide underneath perfectly. I think I might be a 1XL in the non fringe items though as I'll mention with the next piece.

The high waisted bottoms are not only cute as hell but so freaking comfy! The faux belt and sparling sweetheart buckle make this piece shine and the fit over your hips and booty is so flattering.

While I usually wear high waited items I'm not use to more cheeky bottoms but the shape of this bikini and the how perfectly the ruffle skims over my hips has completely sold me on this style! I can't wait to bring this to the beach over summer and blow peoples minds!

The Te Amo set is also available in black and I think it's rather obvious that I need it in my world!

So now that I'm fully in love with their bikini collection, I thought it was only fair to review a one-piece/swim dress style as not everyone is completely comfortable with a two piece.

The Lucia is a skirted one piece suit that I never knew I needed until I wiggled my way into it.

Featuring a molded deep plunge cup, full skirt, capped ruffle sleeves and bold gold accents at the waist.

This piece has blown my mind! The support is amazing and super accommodating of my gigantic chest. It's the one thing I'm always worried about when ordering a non-specific cup size but this piece lifts and creates the most amazing shape.

I'm wearing the 2XL in this style and it's a little too big on me so I think the 1XL would be absolutely perfect. With some one pieces you can instantly feel with you need to size down and with this swim dress a size down would fit perfectly if more firm and extra poppin shape!

How cute is that little ruffle of a cap sleeve? I've never had this on a swimsuit, but I adore the extra little feature.

Now that I've tried these two pieces and have sorted what sizes I'll need I'll definitely be adding more Alpine Swim pieces to my collection.

Capriosca Swimwear Fit Guide 2019

Spring is finally heating up and it's time for another swimwear review! I'm trying to cover as many curve/plus friendly swimwear labels as possible so you can confidently shop online. This week I've been lucky enough to wiggle my body into three amazing looks from Capriosca Swimwear and I'm going to be super brave with this post as I'm wearing two bikinis that actually show my waist! It's been  many moons since I've worn a tie side bottom but I feel that it suits the suit so much for this review.

With such a large bust, I'm always looking for tops that both fit and support without having to much fuss. There is nothing worse that a visibly small cup or odd looking big of boob popping out of a swim top/suit so fit is by far the most important thing on my summer check list.

That's where purchasing separates instead of a bikini set is the best way to perfect fit! You can find the right top and bottom that fit your specific measurement and body shape.

I'm in lust with the Navy and White Dots Wrap Top as what's better than a wrap for busty girls like myself? The fit is PERFECTION with lots of support, and the piece is effortless to wear. I'm wearing this to in a size 20 due to lack of 18s in stock but I find this size up works great for my bust.

Now let's chat bottoms. I can't honestly remember the last time I wore a bikini but I'm forever rocking around my apartment in my knickers so why not bring that comfort and casual vibe to the beach? The Tie Side Swim Pant is the perfect piece to pair with the matching wrap top.

They combine to create a super cute and sexy two piece set that gives you support and a little more coverage on the upper body and then show off your curves on the bottom. I'm wearing this piece in a size 18 and it fit is comfy and super adjustable. You can also find a high waisted matching bottom for this suit via the website.

I've been dreaming of owning a ruffled up off the shoulder swimsuit piece for so many years and now I have what might be the cutest little top ever. Covered in a vintage paisley blue based print this piece is effortlessly chic.

The perfect pinup bikini set with ample bust room and lift! What I love most about this piece is that you can easily jump from the pool (once dry of course.) and pair this with a wiggle or swing skirt, heels and a clutch and you have a perfect outfit for the evening!

This piece can be worn fully off the shoulders or in a standard bra strap fit but I personally love the shoulder bearing style. I'm in an 18, and the fit is amazing. I'm 100% secure and comfortable.

I've paired this adorable top with the tie side bottoms as I'm loving the fit and comfort level. You can snap up a high waisted matching bottom for this via the webstore.

Now obviously I could not shoot a review without trying a one piece as well, and the three Tiered style was high on my lust list. The ruffled design created lots of movement and shape while camouflaging at mid section issues you might have.

The Rust shade is absolutely amazing, and I love it to pair with my hair colour! It's a deep orange which pairs perfectly with my amazing black Killstar kimono

I'm wearing an 18 in this piece, and the fit is great with adjustable straps and such a supersoft fabric. I'm loving how forgiving and comfortable this piece is and I'll be putting a classic black version on my lust list.

Artesands - Swimwear for Curves

As the weather warms up it's time to start shopping for the best swimwear to suit my curves and ample bust! Over the next few weeks I'll be reviewing and sharing my absolute favourite swimwear options from both Australian based stores and a few international websites.

While I love my shape, I find that most bikinis don't tend to suit my bust so I'll mainly be focusing on one-piece swimsuits. If you have discovered an amazing super flattering bikini that might suit me please send me a link as I'd love to try it!

This year I've discovered Artesands via Instagram as I love the models they use and their very realistic portrait of plus size women, it's such a breath of fresh air to stumble across a company like this.

Artesands is a brand that is 110% behind the design of perfectly fitting swimsuits for your curves. Fitted on ‘true to size’ curvy women, not fashion models, you will notice this difference when you see different shaped, curvy women trying on our styles. We are the brand that is ahead of the curve when it comes to loving your curves!

With this focus and such a strong design team behind the brand they really do create amazing swimwear.

From the moment I tried this suit on my mind was blown. Never did I think it was possible to get this much epic boob lift and shape in a swimsuit.

So what are the details :

  • Suitable for cup sizes D/DD
  • Internal foam cups and underwires for bust support
  • Gathering through the waist
  • Full body powermesh lining for body contouring and shape forming
  • Adjustable, wide shoulder straps for extra comfort and support
  • Luxurious soft touch, high stretch swim fabric
  • Back clip, front peephole with faux knot styling

  •

Now I'm a 36H or 36HH and I have no fit issues at all with this piece so don't worry if you are larger that an DD. The gathered waist and lining holds you in and really makes those curves pop and the addition of the peephole creates even more shape.

I'm wearing a size 18 in both pieces featured in this post and they are super comfortable, soft yet firm enough to make you feel fantastic and held in. The fabric is comfortable and as their is not halter neck and a good sized strap you don't have to worry about your shoulders aching - my biggest swimwear issue it seems.

The comfort of this fabric is out of this world and I think I'll be using this piece both for swimming and as a bodysuit during the summer. I'm obsessed with this piece and need it in every colour and print!

Next is a more traditional style one piece but with a little twist feature at the bust. The Rococo Botticelli one-piece features :

  • Multifit cups – suitable for sizes C-DD
  • Wide neckline
  • Internal full shelf bra with supportive soft foam cups and underbust band
  • Front twist detail at bust
  • Side rouched panels and gathering through the waist
  • Full body powermesh lining for body contouring and shape forming
  • Adjustable, wide shoulder straps for extra comfort and support
  • Luxurious soft touch, high stretch swim fabric

  •

What's different about this suit from the previous style? Well other than the wider neckline, lack of peephole and twist detail the bust fit is slightly more relaxed. The shelf style bra and foam cups add lift and support but not that epic boobie height of the previous piece.

So between the two it's all about your personal boobie support and lift comfort level and I'm very much all about the Cezanne suit as it just seems more like my style and vibe. The polka dots on both fabrics are super cute and very pinup so I can't wait to create more looks with each of these suits over
    the summer.

Keep an eye out for more swimwear reviews over the next few weeks!
