Mary Janes

This month I have a whole lotta shoe brilliance to share with you. Starting with two pairs of heels that have my heart - one with a heel higher than the heavens and the other full of deco brilliance. With all of the varied shoots I have coming up I've been looking for a very traditional pair of heels as well as something a little more sexy and both of these stunning pairs perfectly fit my needs.

When style and comfort combine the Cutiepie heel from Pinup Couture is created. A stunning 4 1/2 inch with a 3/4 hidden platform to give you that extra height and the comfortability to wear these all day long.

I'm an absolute sucker for a Mary Jane style heel as they are sweet, feminine and always compliment your legs. The bow tie and scalloped edging really make these a perfect retro reproduction and I can't get enough of them.

Just look at that bold cut out design!! For Pinup Couture I wear a size 11US which is a 10AU and the fit in this style is perfect.

Now lets cross out fingers and toes and hope that more colour ways of this style will be released in the future as I'd purchase every single release. I'm currently dreaming of these in red/black and teal/black.

A tried, tested and most loved style the Delight is pure magic. Why? With a giant 6 inch heel and a 1 3/4 inch platform these babies are super high, make your legs look like they never end and so lightweight.

Remember what I said about my obsession with Mary Jane styles earlier? Obviously I could not say no to adding two more unique styles to my collection. The main reason I wanted this specific style of Pleaser Delights was for the sleek patent look as they pair with everything in my wardrobe.

But as an extra bonus feature these heels feature a red based corset effect on the back of the heel and on the sole. That stunning pop of blood read patent leather, silver rivets and faux corset lacing makes these look unbelievably sexy from behind. These are so strong and sexy I'm inspired to base a whole look based around them!

While some reviews state this shoe is rather narrow I've found them to be the opposite. I've ordered my usual 11US in pleaser heels and there is a little more room for me. Not enough to size down but still very comfortable.

Which are you putting on your lust list?

On Thursdays We Wear Black

This year I have a goal - to fill my spare room wall to wall with bookshelves full of shoes and I'm well on my way due to my footwear obsession. This past months order my styling goal was to get two pair of striking and brilliant looking black shoes - a classic black pump for wearing and pairing with everything in my wardrobe and a super high yet comfortable ankle boot to pair with jeans and more gothic looks. I'm focusing on my two favourite brands right now: Demonia and Pleaser's Pink Label.

I'm completely embracing my love for chunky heels and lace up gothic styles at the moment and these new Black Velvet boots from Demonia are pure bliss. While this babies look damn heavy they are actually super lightweight as are every style I find from this label.

The Camel is a swing back to the 90s with a little more refinement and a sleeker shape. Featuring a
5" (127mm) and a Chunky Heel, 3" (75mm) Platform these will add that extra height you are after without feeling any fear of toppling over. They are so unbelievably comfortable and I can run, walk and jump about like crazy without any issues. For Demonia styles I wear a size 10US and I find this fit to be spot on.

While in the 90s I was a fan of Doc's, at this time in my life I'm still loving boot style but I'm always in need of a bigger height and this chunky heel platform combination just make me swoon. Now if Demonia released a to the knee version of this I'd buy it in bulk and wear them to death all winter.

Styling wise I love to pair the Camel with a thick winter stocking or fishnets and wear them with little black dresses or even a floral skater dress and black leather moto jacket. They also look absolutely amazing when worn with skinny jeans.

What I also love about Demonia styles has to be the little extra effort they put into the detailing on each pair of shoes. The bold silver back zip on the boots means there is no need to lace and unlace these boots with every wear and it look hot as hell!

After adding some work friendly Pink Label shoes to my collection I wanted to get one pair of matte black heels that would suit most if not all of my outfits in upcoming photo shoots. That's when I discovered the Chloe-02 and made grabby hands at the screen.

The Chloe-02 is a style I'm very much like the Bordello Teeze style that I own many colours and prints but with more size options available as the Pink Label shoes are created for size US9 to 16. I wear this label in a size 11US as I do most pleaser styles.  I have a long foot but standard width and this size always works perfectly.

The fit is perfect and the Mary Jane style is a must have in this range. It's versatile and pairs with all styles of clothing plus looks absolutely adorable when worn with tights or bobby socks. Height wise you have 5 1/4 Inch Heel, 1 1/4 Inch Platform Mary Jane with Concealed PT Pump and they are super easy to walk and stand as that concealed platform really helps equal the height out.

I can't wait to style these for my next few shoots so be sure to check back and see just how amazing they look when paired with full gothic and pinup outfits.

Ambassador Who?

If you are a long term reader or even new to Curves To Kill you'll know that I have a huge love and addiction to shoes. I'm nutty for them and love collecting, styling and strutting in all different styles and colours.

So this year I'm super excited to announce my partnership with the greatest shoe store in Australia, hell lets face it, the world - Shoe Me Gorgeous! I'll be working with them through 2017 promoting, reviewing and modelling my pins as much as humanly possible.

Not only are the an Australian based company but they have the best prices for brands I love like Pleaser, Demonia, Pin Up Couture and many many more. The selection is huge, the sizes perfect (with each review I'll be making sure I tell you my Australian size and what I wear in each brand) and super fast shipping.

Shoe Me Gorgeous have also introduced a awesome new loyalty membership program that gives you discounts and points/steps while you shop! I'll write a full post on this very soon and dish all the details but they are brilliant and you will definitely want to join.

But lets get down to my love and my obsession and get this review going!

I've never found a medium sized heel I can wear to work all day and feel great in. After years of wearing huge platforms I find the smaller heel a little more work but now that I've discovered the Smitten heel from Pinup Couture I'm never going back to anything else for all day heels.

Smitten is an adorable 40's style mary jane with a 4 inch heel and cut out design on the toe. They are sleek, sweet and a perfect pinup style for work or play. The closed toe makes the them transeasonal and they look great with or without stocks.

I wear an Australian size 10 but I always order a US11 in this specific brand as they fit one size smaller for me. What makes this specific brand above many others I've worn to work or out for a night is the padding.

You see that adorable bright red heart inside the pump? Well that's the secret! It's an extra level of cushioning and acts like party feet or an insole, plus it looks so cute.

Avaliable in red, forest green, dark brown and black and once you own one pair you'll need them all.

Now for a completely new style for me but sticking with the 40's style design. The Bettie is amazing, bold and features a 4 1/2" heel, 1"  Platform and a closed to cut out design. The extra inch and platform makes for more of a going out shoe apposed to a work shoe but it's all personal preference.

The fit is a little spot on in the size US11 and these like the Smitten can be worn all year. I usually don't wear such a perfectly vintage style but I wanted to try something new and they have inspired me to try different colour options and more 40's style frocks.

Now these are available in the colour shown above and a very similar colour mixture with the addition of forest green included. I personally love the warm brown tones and how they work from Autumn to Spring.

As these are Pin Up Couture they have that extra heart of comfort you will love the feel of both of these styles.
