All Rugged Up

It's finally hitting my favourite time of the year here in Melbourne and I can finally wear all of my cozy coats and boots. For the last few years, I've been heading straight to City Chic each and every winter for everything I need to keep me warm but still feel stunningly stylish.

For this winter I love bold colours. I own way too many black trench coats, motos and winter jackets but nothing in ruby red! From the moment I saw the Arabella Coat I knew that it needed to be on my body ASAP!

A super cozy, thick and perfectly fitting (size M/18) long-length winter coat with all the fixings! Fully lined, two perfectly placed buttons, pocks and a stunning colour that can show as little or as much cleavage as possible.

What I love most about this piece is the colour-blocking with contrasting collar and hemline panels. This is something I've not seen before in winter fashion and it really makes this coat stand out in the best kind of way. Now I'm wearing this in an 18 but I always size up from my usual size in coats in order to layer jumpers and knits. This is a perfectly roomy fit.

Of course, I also needed to update my boot wardrobe for the chilly months ahead and this year I've gone for the perfect boot that I fell in love with last year.  The Priscilla Boots were a big obsession for me last winter but this year I've gone for the Geordie boot in faux crocodile skin. These are just as comfy, and roomy as my last two pairs of CC boots. I've found that you can size down as I don't have a wide foot. Calf fitting I don't have really large calves but I don't have skinny legs at all. So if you don't fit into standard knee-high boots but don't fit into 'large calf styles' these might be perfect for you.

I find that City Chic boots fit great but after a day of wear, they slide down a little from my knee. They do have lots of give however so they are just perfect for wearing over jeans and thick winter tights.

I can't get enough of this colour and the endless styling possibilities to come! For this shoot, I needed simple black gloves and iconic sunglasses. I can't wait to style this both up and down over the next few month.s
