Iconic City Chic Pieces

I'm so excited to be able to share my latest City Chic order with you! A real mixture of pieces that rock my absolute socks off and fit curves like a dream.

I've been having the worst issues this year with jumpsuits and Rompers. My long torso and rather curvy shape means I fit into my normal size in all rompers but then can't get out of them without epic amounts of help. I've returned size after size and I've in the end I've been going one size up to give me more room in the shoulders. This really does help but means eventually tailoring will need to happen to most of the garments.

Amelia Jumpsuit in Blackwash

After one failed attempt at a City Chic jumpsuit I ordered the Amelia in an M/18 and my fears were thrown out the window. The Amelia is a stretchy yet solid denim jumpsuit that works just like a pair of jeans and then buttons up into the most adorable jumpsuit.

Curves are hugged by black wash denim and the zip fly and button up front means you can show as much or as little cleavage as you wish. As this is a full size larger than what I'm use to (I'm a 16 in CC) the sleeves are rather giant on me and lower legs of the pant section are less fitted than I like but this can easily be fixed with a visit to the tailor.

I do adore the fit at the waist and although it's not super cinching it really does make my natural shape pop. I've paired this with my all-time favourite Killstar belt as I love the 70s vibe it gives off. Once tailored to perfection I'll be wearing this to death.

I wear all rompers and jumpsuits do wonders for your toosh. They lift and really make the best shape possible.

Now all I need is a bright red pair of pumps to pair with this entire look and I'll be set!

Effortless Chic Coat (black) Charcoal

Now for something perfect for the office! I've always adored the classic City Chic pieces that can be effortlessly styled to perfection for an office look.

A slim fit yet super cozy classic black coat which sadly sold out super fast (another colour linked above) pairs perfectly with the iconic Skylar faux leather look skinny jeans. A classic Melbourne uniform outfit for the winter - all black with a pop of print.

Each piece in this entire look works in complete harmony with each but they also outright stars on their own. The coat in a 16/S is roomy enough to pair with a thin jumper, any top from my wardrobe, or even a bodysuit and easily buttons up over my waist and chest. The fit really slims out my hips and creates a really lovely look.

The Skylar coated jeans are amazing!!! I'm forever lusting after leather look pieces and now have a few different cuts and styles in my collection. These short length jeans are the perfect high-waisted skinny style and fit firmly at the waist with limited stretch in the waistband.

Fitting like a second skin they are light yet really hold you in. Now, these are super tight when you first try them on but after a full day's wear, they mold to your body perfectly.

I'm wearing a 16/S in all the items in this look and really love how perfectly effortless this look really is.

I went with a basic white and black stripe tee for beneath the coat as I'm a sucker for stripes and faux leather. A looser fit for all-day comfort and a higher neckline for the office.

Now let's chat shoes. I could not go past the Kiera Ankle Boot . Even though I have a fairly normal size foot in a 10 I was lusting hard after these wide-fitting ankle boots. So I ordered a size 9 to accommodate the lack of width on my own foot and they are PERFECT!!!!

A pull-on stretchy ankle boot with a cuban heel, stud detailing, and a boot garter these are a dream. I've been hunting for something this iconic for work and City Chic created it for me! These are so comfy, so easy to wear all day long and I think I need a few more pairs to wear throughout the week or even backups. I never want to take these off.
