Tree of Life

Every summer my love for bohemian styles pops back up and I live in flowing fabrics, maxi dresses and other boho styles. But this year I've been thinking about taking those styles that I adore in the warmer months and working them into my winter wardrobe. Pairing rich prints and flowing fabrics with super warm layers of stockings, boots and coats.

Tree of Life have always been a personal favourite of mine and this season they have rocked my socks of with a stunning collection of leopard print pieces. Oh how I love a bold leopard print!

Now my take on boho is always going to reflect my love for showing off my shape, so I've chosen to style each piece with my beloved western belt. It gives these very free flowing fabrics a little more shape and makes each piece more me.

Kenya Shirt - $55.00

The Kenya shirt is one of those pieces that is effortless to style. You can wear it tucked, untucked, tied at the front, paired with high waisted skater skirts or worn out over your favourite pair of skinny jeans.

The fabric is so soft and weightless and the relaxed fit means this style will fit anywhere from a size 12 to 18. A perfect style for both casual wear or work wear and the sleeves roomy enough for any size upper arm. Most garments at Tree of Life come in two sizes a one size fits all standard and a queen. I'm wearing the queen or plus size styles.

I've styled this as I'd wear these pieces to the office. Tucked into my favourite plain black skater skirt and waist belt. The comfort level in each garment is amazing, and I'm going to be styling and wearing these all week.

Jangla Dress - $75.00

Now let's chat about the Jangla. This was a style that on the product shots I knew I liked it but the shift style of the dress made me worry about fit on my already curvy shape. So in true Teer form I've added the waist belt for epic definition.

Featuring a tie up neck detail, ruffled hemline and flared sleeves, this piece is both cute and chic. I've always loved a flared sleeve, and these do not disappoint!

I'll be wearing this with my favourite thigh high black boots, black tights, wide brim hats and a variety of belts. This might just be my favourite piece out of this selection as it's just so easy to style and throw on when you want to look fab with very little effort.

Tree of life offers a full plus size section so if you are not a mad leopard fan like me you a get very similar styles in different colours and prints.

Jungle Queen Dress - $95.00

Lastly, the maxi of me dreams! Featuring a scooping v-neckline, button details, a drawstring waist and tiered maxi skirt with a split. This amazing piece really is giving me those Stevie Nicks vibes and I'm smitten with all those little details.

The length is perfect as it hits just at my ankles and the split shows only when you want it to. The buttons are fully functioning, and you can wear them as you wish. I'm very busty, so my bras always tend to pop out of most lower necklines but I actually love the sneaky bit of black showing through.

The drawstring waist creates really great shape, so you can choose to wear it as I've done here with a western belt and or just with the drawstring. That feature also offers a custom fit as you can wear it as tight or loosely as you want.

The sleeves are also a stand out feature for me as they are the perfect length and flow beautifully. I'm so impressed with these plus size styles and I can't wait to get my hands on even more pieces in the future.

Now if only the Afghan coats came in my size I could finally act out my Penny Lane from Almost Famous photoshoot dreams!
