Wax Poet Clothing

Today I'm so very excited to bring you a full review of a label I've been dying to wear for many moons! Wax Poetic Clothing was created in 2014 by Johanna and Bryn Stull, a dynamic duo with the shared dream of making beautiful garments in the USA!

Every silhouette draws on inspiration from vintage fashion, yet has a more modern, forgiving fit. They work with the best sample makers and factories that they can find, and only use the prettiest fabrics! Beautiful florals and stunning prints are their signature, and as they continue to grow they plan on adding their own textiles to the mix. Each production run is extremely limited, so if you see something that catches your eye, don't wait - it's likely to be gone forever before you know it!

With a limited run you can be sure that what you purchase will be both a truly amazing piece but also not owned by every single pinup around the globe. For this shoot/review I wanted to feature both separates and dresses, focusing on fabrics, fit and just how wonderfully and comfortable I feel in each garment.

Black Ella skirt - $45.00
Shoe Me CHLOE-02 Black Faux Leather - $108.95

Each item shown in this review has been created from a soft and stretchy knit. There's not need for zips or anything restrictive as these pieces hug your curves and are amazingly comfortable. I was silly and did not read the description close enough so I was so pleasantly surprised when I finally got to feel how soft and stretchy each piece was.

Now I'm such a sucker for a leopard print top and the Raquel neckline has been something I've had my eye on for a while now.  Featuring 3/4 sleeves, a v neckline, ruching at the shoulders. This combination creates a flattering figure hugging shape and really compliments both large and small bust lines.

I'm wearing an XXL in each Requel item from Wax Poetic Clothing and an XL in the skirt.I can honestly say they fit like a dream as they have so much stretch and the fabric is so soft and comfortable.

The top is perfect for tucking into skirts, shorts and high waisted pants but for me nothing pairs more perfectly than the Black Ella Skirt. A stretchy twirling piece of magic in clothing form the Bella features a super wide waistband that's perfect for tucking in both the Raquel or other blouses.

This piece drapes perfectly and the amount of lift off you get when you twirl this baby is absolutely amazing! Pair it with or without a petticoat depending on just how much volume you are looking for.

After falling in love with the Raquel top I knew that the dress version would be an absolute dream on my curves. It's such a joy to be able to wiggle my way into a garment without zips as I'm forever annoying my poor husband with my zip demands. But with each piece featured here I can slip them on an off with ease.

The Raquel dress is AMAZING! Flattering on waist, bust and arms and the fabric is so soft you'll have to double check your not wearing your PJ's. The Edelweiss print is a stunning floral purple based fabric and I've never owned such a colour before but this is the start of many more purple and plum shades I think.

The design feature I love most about the Raquel dress has to be the bust combined with the fitted waist that really nips you in and flatters my hourglass shape. I can't wait to style this all year round with cardigans, coats and heaps of accessories. The fit really makes you stand back and love your waistline and bust and you'll be swooning over the delicate floral print.

What's my advice when you find a perfectly fitting frock that completely compliments your figure? Buy every print and every colour! With the success of the Edelweiss print it was only natural that I needed the Raquel in solid black as well.

These lightweight amazing pieces will be my go to dresses for the summer. The soft and breezy fabric is an absolute joy to wear during an Aussie heat wave. Effortlessly chic and able to be worn all year round with a variety of accessories and layers.

My Wax Poetic Clothing addiction is now in full swing and I can't wait to add more pieces to my collection.

Many thanks to Liz for capturing each piece perfectly!
