Sleigh Bells Ringing

It's December 1st, and I'm bringing a whole lot of Christmas cheer! Last month I created some magical fashion looks for the festive season and with that shoot I was inspired to create some more traditional costume images.

Whenever I'm in need of an amazing costume, sfx makeup, wigs or themed accessories I go straight to Costume Box as they have an amazing selection, lots of sizes and every possible theme covered.

While they had, some supercute Christmas themed looks I was looking an outfit that had a little more sass, a verity of festive colours and most of all a look that flattered my shape.

Originally I was looking for either a Mrs Clause costume or something more like a red and white mini dress but once I saw the Santa's Helper costume I knew it had to be mine. The lush green jacket and dress in one style really popped perfectly for my photo shoot plans and I snapped up this in a size XXL. I can range between XXL and 1XL in most costumes but I always double check the size chart to make sure it will a brilliant fit.

This costume comes with an attached green jacket and a lace up bodice. A black belt, pair of gloves, green fur trimmed hat and striped red and white thigh highs. Now with costumes I find that some items are used in my look and others don't suit me. The belt and hat were not my style so I've used the most important and main items of this piece.

Fit wise this little dress is perfect! Enough room for my bust, large upper arms and the corset lacing makes your waist look tiny. It's also the perfect length to wear out to all your festive events. I'm always worried my toosh will pop out of most mini length costumes but this covers it perfectly.

Because I'm a little more extra than most when I order a costume I paired this with an absolutely divine Christmas Cloak. This floor length, velvet look cape features a white faux fur trim and hood and if you can't tell it's AMAZING! It's light enough to not weigh you or your costume down while still looking lush and perfect for a north pole Christmas look. The traditional clasp is also a lovely feature as it really makes this piece look truly vintage and perfect for the theme. This is one size fits all and it will fit any adult and can be worn by both genders.

For my pins I ordered the red and white striped plus-size stockings in a 1x//2xl. These are super roomy and can easily fit a size 18. I've found that some plus tights can not be long enough as I like to wear mine over my waistline but these are the perfect fit. They are slightly sheer enough to make my tattoos pop, though, but they really are perfect for this costume.

I honestly can't get enough of this look and really wish it was super hot in Australia for Christmas! If my work Christmas party is, air conditioned I'll definitely be wearing this.

Thank you to Liz Fleming for shooting these images with me and for making our Aussie parklands a little more winter wonderland!
