Swing Starlet, Swing

I never thought it was possible to love a dress more than I love my leopard Starlet dress from Vixen by Micheline Pitt. But from the moment I saw the swing version I was a in lust and completely head over heels for this swing skirted version of absolute brilliance.

Do you know that feeling when you slip into a garment and decided that this dress was definitely made for you and you need to own every single version ever made. Well I promise you that's the feeling you'll get from the Starlet Swing. Created with a plush stretch textured crepe  this stunning dress is perfectly tailored to hug you in all the right places.

The understructure made of high quality ponte, creates a smooth base and holds you tight in the waist and bust. The 3/4 sleeves are magic as they slimmed my arms down - yes the fit actually makes my upper arms smaller!!!

After trying the leopard wiggle in a XL and the Blue Velvet in a 2XL I wasn't sure which would be the best fit. I'm above the XL size chart measurements but I knew that this garment had a little stretch so I sized down to the XL. The result is a fit yet comfortable fit and no need for a bra. The structure of the top and bust mean I can go bra free with ease and they are high, round and perfectly pert.

The fabric is less stretchy than my leopard wiggle starlet but still fits like a dream. The thickness also creates a  almost shape wear affect on your waistline and for this shoot I paired the swings with my Orchard Corset longline underbust so I could add more definition. But the fit with or without a corset is just as yum. The matching green belt really emphasizes that hour glass shape and as you can see it looks great with or without it.

The Forset Green shade is the dark green of my dreams. Being a super pale red head I always gravitate towards greens and this darker option is pure bliss. I've paired this look with my favourite wide brim hat and I love the spring vibes this outfit is giving me.

Now I got greedy with this dress as I knew I'd be kicking myself if I missed out on another colour. The black version of the Starlet Swing is just as magical and can be styled in many pinup or gothic ways. I'm drying to get my hands on the Kreepsville666 bat or spider belt and really vamp this style up.

Owning both of these dresses has made me want to complete the set and purchase the Dusty Pink shade as I think the tone would also work with my colouring. Do you think I can rock it? What I also love about this design is that it's a perfect go to bridesmaid dress style for any wedding! Sophisticated and beautiful on all shapes.

I wanted to go a little darker with this colour so I've paired the dress with my black velvet Voodoo Vixen turban and the La Femme En Noir spider brooch. The mixture of fabrics and that bright glittering silver spider makes for a very deco look. Now I'll be hunting for more bold brooches and turbans so I can rock looks like this all winter. I also have the amazing teal shade of this velvet turban so I need to find the perfect pin for that stunning shade.
