Adore Pinup Issue 13

WARNING! This is one image packed post! Full of winter pinup styling, amazing garments and snow.

Issue #13 of Adore Pinup has just been released and I'm so excited to show you the images from my latest article based around winter styling for pinups. I live for winter and adore all accessories that come with this chilly weather and I featured some of my absolute favourites in this months issue!

But before I start on what will be my biggest review in a while I have to say a huge Thank You to Damien Bowerman for working with me on this shoot. Shooting together is an absolute breeze and I love what we created for this theme. If you can't get to the snow bring the snow to the studio!

Finally I have my hands on the Trixie swing dress and it's more amazing that I hoped! I fell hard for the Trixie Wiggle last year and once I found the red (and teal as you will see) swing style of this dress I had to get it. An amazing super stretchy curve hugging, boobie boosting, amazing full skirted dress in bright red. If you have curves like me or are an hourglass shape this dress is MADE for you as it hugs you in all of the right places, has a super flattering 3/4 length sleeve and hits just bellow the knee for the perfect length.

I wear the Trixie Doll dress in a size 16 and the fit is perfect. The super stretchy fabric make it super comfortable to wear while still holding you in tight. The bust line is also perfect for girls with larger chests who aren't afraid to show them off!

I paired this bright dress with my favourite accessories : a red beret, red gloves then a black belt, petticoat and Pleaser heeled boots. As you will notice throughout this post I've paired each outfit with these boots (they are a winter staple) and the most amazing collection of gloves!

So excuse me for a moment while I gush over the best gloves on the planet. I've admitted in the past that I have an addiction to leather gloves and I'm completely at ease with this. But recently I found some of the most amazing pinup perfect styles from an Australian based company named Have To Have. I've been adding to my collection slowly each season but I've never seen so many perfect retro inspired designs available in one place.

With polka dots in red and black, leopard print cuffs, quilting, zips, bows and more they have a pair of gloves to suit every outfit. Now how do you know your size? Well I cross referenced all of my existing pairs and went for a medium. I've always know I have a medium sized hand and they fit perfect. The leather is soft and they mold to your hands perfectly the first time you slip your hands in.

Oh my gosh I'm wearing a mod style winter coat and loving it! The B & B Mariella Checked coat is the softest, cutest and I have to say warmest coat in my collection. It feels like I'm all tucked up in bed yet It's a super cute shirt style coat with bold buttons, a check print and faux fur cuffs and collar.  This is a super roomy fit and while I sized up (size 18) in order to give lots of roomy for buttoning this up over my chest I think I would like a 16 more as I'd not wear this buttoned up but with cute dresses and jeans all winter - plus layers, lots and lots of layers.

The Mariella is sold out sadly in most sizes but you can find it in green, black, blue and red check print and being that it's so roomy you can size down! I don't think I've ever really worn a pale or white coat before but there is something magical and very snow themed about this outfit and I'm loving it. When paired with red accessories the perfect pop of colour is provided.

While accessories are one of my main loves for winter styling I also have a huge obsession with autumn/winter prints. From dark florals to winter woodland styles and the always amazing plaid. Each year I go nuts for this print and I'm really loving blue and green tartans for 2016. There is something so office chic yet super sexy about this stunning wiggle skirt from hell bunny and this is a key piece for this season.

I'm wearing the Jodie skirt in a 2XL but the fit is a little roomy at the waist band. There is a little stretch in the garment so I would be easily able to get away with the XL in this style. I think it's also safe to say that I'll happily be hunting down each and every colour or print of the Jodie skirt as it's such a brilliant fit. Paired with the amazing Doris Top from Pinup Girl Clothing this outfit is classic yet sexy and makes me feel amazing. I also love how perfectly the leopard print works with the dark plaid, who would have thought these two would rock so much together. Such a classic combination of retro styles and I can't wait to pair these gloves with even more outfits.

Collectif  Travel Bag in Red - Sold Out

Clearly we need to talk about the most amazing pair of boots in my collection. I've been lusting after the perfect pair of lace up platforms for a while now and I found these stunning Pleaser faux leather boots via Shoe Me Gorgeous! I've become a huge fan once again of the Pleaser Delight heel and platform height and these are super high yet lightweight and comfortable. They lace up and have a zip on the inner lower leg and will fit both thin and curvier calves. I'm wearing my usual size 10 and they are a perfect fit. They will be my go to super high heel this winter so expect to see many more shoot with these snuck in.

Then to this retrotastic travel bag from Collectif is a deep almost blood red. This travel case is huge and currently holds every single accessory in my home. It's perfect for travelling as it's a great size for carry on luggage. It's great to have some more true vintage looking pieces in my collection and this might be sold out in this specific colour but you can get a green or red plaid version which is currently on sale!

I've had many trench coats in my lifetime but I've never had one quite like the Bacall. She is silky soft, hugs me in all of the right places and fits like a dream. A perfect length and roomy enough to layer your winter tops beneath. I'm wearing this style in XL and it's spot on for my measurements.

The fabric is lightweight yet still keeps you warm but if you are looking for a more thick and warming coat the look bellow. I've been wearing this out constantly as it's perfect for work or play. It looks amazing with my work wardrobe and makes the most casual of outfits a little more sophisticated.

If you are looking to button this up fully and you have a large chest I recommend you size up but I love the fit at the waist with the XL and I'm always fond of showing a little cleavage. The pop of leopard print on the cuff of my Have To Have gloves really completes this look.

My favourite print is back in skirt form!!!! I featured the adorable Hermeline Dress a few posts back and now I'm very happy to introduce you to the 50's skirt in the same print. Honestly I can't get enough fabric and this 50's swing style skirt has me smitten. With flattering pleats, belt loops and just the right amount of length this skirt slims my waist and compliments my hourglass shape.

I'm wearing the XL and the waist is perfect. So other than button up blouses or restricted top on dresses I will be sticking to the XL from now on in all Hell Bunny styles. I paired this with all black plus a little pop of polka dot print and I love how it's the main focus. The print is full of adorable woodlands wildlife and it needs to pop always. These gloves work so well with the animal print and I love the patterns mixed! I always gravitate towards polka dot prints so both these and the red pair of gloves have to be my stand out favourites.

I'm a sucker for faux fur collars and cuffs and the Rock Noir Coat is everything I've ever dreamed a coat could be. The thick fabric, fur accents, bold buttons and that almost structured waist make this the your curves look absolutely amazing. All of my favourite coats seem to be the hell bunny fur clad and this one is now number one! Why? It's all in the deepest darkest forest green fur. This colour is magical and for a redhead it's the perfect shade to suit my dark red locks.

I'm wearing this style in and XL and the fit is very firm but still comfortable and I love how fitted it is at the bust and waist. I can wear one layer beneath this but that's perfect as I tend to wear coats like this out in the evening and with all the heated venues it's great for braving the winter chill in style.

Gothic Noir Pinup in the most perfect furry form and so easy to style. I paired this coat with my amazing red polka dot gloves and the vibrant red leather looks amazing against the dark green fur. This glove is divine and I really hope Have to Have create more colour ways in the future in this style as I'd love a purple, green or even blue pair!

Now that winter has finally hit us here in Australia all of these coats and glove combinations will be worn constantly and I can't wait to create even more brilliant winter pinup style outfits.

You know you love the cut of a dress when you pick it up in two colours but with the Trixie it's impossible not to collect the entire collection. I missed the release on Collectif clothing's website but I found the stunning dark teal shade via Unique Vintage. While red is a great shade for my colouring there is just something about pairing red hair and teal and I love how I've accessorized this outfit.

Featuring a black beret and those adorable black and white polka dot leather gloves this is such a stunning outfit. I also wanted to show the difference of the swing style bottom without a petticoat. I shot the red with a full and fluffy black petticoat but for this I actually love the more natural fall of the fabric. Each way looks great but I think I'll stick to no petticoat for this style.

I really hope this review has inspired you to get styling this winter and add some amazing key pieces to your collection. You can pick up a copy of Adore Pinup via their website right now and read some amazing articles. This issue is jam packed with stunning editorials, interviews and more!

  1. I love all of the clothing you wore for this set, but oh my goodness, it's the effect that has me staring at these all night! The snow on your jacket is gorgeous.

Also, I keep hesitating on what kind of boots to wear in winter as I feel every pair I try on modernizes my look a little too much for my personal style - but you've convinced me to try again with your boots. Thank you for sharing this photo set!
