Makeup Roundup

I'm starting a bi monthly 'Makeup Roundup' post featuring all the goodies I've purchased and tried over the last few months. Although I'm not a beauty blogger I do love trying new products and testing new and interesting colours, styles etc.

This month you'll find my addiction - Rimmel London, a great anti aging cream and some hot new nail polishes for summer.

As you all know I adore Rimmel London and they are my go to makeup brand for all foundations. They have the palest of shades for us super fair ladies and make my daily addiction, the Stay Matte Cream. This week I got the chance to try the new Lasting Finish foundation and I'm loving the results. There are two new products available in their complexion line the Nude and Full Coverage foundations.

Now after a few days of use I've come to the conclusion that for me these foundations are for both day and night wear. The Nude goes on super smoothly and gives an almost natural coverage, the more you apply the more coverage you get. Then the Full Coverage as the name suggests gives you a freckle covering, super pale complexion. I tend to lean closer to the nude foundation and save full for photo shoots and nights out. It's so nice to finally find a foundation line that suits very fair skin and freckles!

Then next we have the Wonder'full Mascara with the added bonus of Argan Oil. Now I've tried so many mascaras over the years but recently I've found 'the one' in the Rimmel Scandaleyes. Now it will take a lot for any other product to take over this number one spot but I think the Wonder'full style slips into spot no.2. With lightweight, almost conditioning product this mascara plumps up your lashes and never clumps or weighs a lash down. While I love the product itself the I'm not 100% sold on the brush. I've always been a bristle brush girl and the rubber flexible brush doesn't really do it for me. This however is great for getting to those hard to reach spots and I use it to plump up my fake lashes on shoots.

For the last few years I've been trying as many anti wrinkle creams as humanly possible. Being over 30 I take a lot of pride in my clear skin and want to keep it looking as good as it can for as long as possible. I've tried many, some pricey, some super cheap and I love and loath many. So when I was offered a tester of this little miracle from Philosophy I jumped at the chance.

Now I've been wearing this as directed for week and I've actually seen results. Now this is not a product that will have you looking 10 years younger overnight but it smooths fine lines and plums up your skin. A super overnight moisturizer that gives all the goodness you need and is lightweight enough that you don't even notice it's there.

While the range is on the higher end of the spectrum it is well worth purchasing and I highly recommend testing this in the trail size before purchasing the full version, just to make sure it works for you. Now to save my pennies and get enough for every day.

Finally two new shades from what I think is the best polish company in the business - OPI. These two shades are part of the new Coca-Cola Collection.

Based on the iconic shades featured on each can these shades are just two in a collection of 9 which includes red, black sparkles, vanilla and more. Turn on the haute light was inspired by the Diet Coke can and is super bold, sleek and cybertastic. I'm a huge lover of all things silver and with my mostly all black casual wardrobe this colour stands out in the most amazing way.

Get Cherried Away is based on the Cherry Cola cans and is a purple/plum shade that I'm absolutely smitten with! I'm usually a black or red nail polish kind of girl but I'm loving this shade and as soon as I get acrylics this will be on them! For a full review and swatches please see the following review.

  2. Does the Rimmel foundation have a pink tinge or is that just the way it looks in the photos?

    1. No pink tinge it might be the text giving off a pink light on the bottle. It's actually very pale and almost porcelain.
