Dressed To Party

It's that time of year again when we have a half a dozen work functions, family parties and Christmas celebrations to attend. If you're anything like me you plan your outfits in advance and hunt high and low for some great affordable party frocks to carry you through the silly season and beyond.

So with a few events/functions in mine I headed to Boohoo to find the perfect collection of Party Dresses.

Figure hugging, curve accentuating and studded? I think I'm in love and wish to marry this dress! This dress is HOT! I love the pairing of very simple accessories and super high studded shoes. Just add a pair of black skull earnings to this outfit and a spiked clutch and I'm ready to rock!

Sweet and girly, flirty and fun this Lara dress in Royal Blue is perfect for any function you have on for the holidays. I just adore the neckline and the skater fit, it is one of the most flattering and easy to wear dress styles. Pair this with some silver statement jewelry and red heels and you are good to go!

Because just like that Melbourne can change from scorching hot to raining and chilly once again. How about this as an option for a party frock? Available in black and and deep purple this has a longer sleeve in case you have arm issues and the bust is brilliant and flattering! I would wear every colour ever created in this style and push to this also in top options!

Looking for something a little more sophisticated or a more corporate work function? How about this jaw dropping gorgeous peplum dress.  This dress is sleek, modern and very flattering on the curvy figure. The peplum cuts in at the smallest part of your waist and is not too large so it will only draw attention to the smallest part of your body. This is the dress that will turn heads at your office Christmas party so be sure to accessories with equally as sleek shoes, jewelry and a clutch/purse. If you love studs and spikes like me I'd pair this dress with the same style accessories as the first dress.

For those family functions that are beach, backyard or country based you can't go wrong with a simple scoop neck skater dress. You can rock these dresses day or night with flats, wedges or heels and they will always look fantastic. Perfect for day or night and available in a whole range of colours. For $24.00 you can buy multiples and wear them all summer long!

So now you know what's on my list for this party season but I'd love to know what's on yours!

  2. I adore everything you post, and all the clothes are to die for!
I have a question, I have recently dropped 20kg to a curvy 75kg but alas I'm still short, a mere 5ft nothing. What advice could you give me when it comes to choosing a summer party dress for my short stature?

    Lots of love.

    1. Oh congrats and super huge high 5's to you kitten! Great work!

I'm 5'8 myself so I'm not sure how much help I can be. The best thing to do is to get a great tailor in your local area. I have one for everything as nothing really is a perfect fit when you are an hourglass (well except for some pinup brands)

Be sure to read the measurements (legnth) on all product descriptions and many of the new style dresses fashionable these days are actually rather short so they help with smaller heights.

Sorry I can't be any more help sugar.

  3. I have that skater dress, in three colours. They're even firm enough to go bra-less quite readily and I'm a DD. I love them!
