Freckles and Ink - NSFW

On Sunday I had the chance to work with the most brilliant photographer I know, Peter Coulson.

He is currently shooting for an upcoming book entitled In My Pants which is created to raise money for cancer research. Cancer touches everyone and we have all been touched by it in some way be a family member, a friend or having it ourselves. You can read more about his project here.

Now after we had shot the image for the book I wanted to do something I've always wanted to do with Peter, I wanted to do a natural nude shoot.

I was a bit unsure if I should post these on here as it is a fashion blog but it's also a blog about me as a whole and under my clothing this is what I look like.

This is me and yes I have rolls and a tummy, I'm a size 16 and I look like every other woman naked. I had someone tell me this is what real women should look like but I don't actually believe that. I think real women should look extra small to extra large. They should be flat, fat, short, tall, curvy and straight up and down. Being human makes us real not the shape of our bodies.

For a few more shots head to Peter Coulson's Blog .

  2. Wow!!! I'm speechless! I swear!! This is pure beauty. I really loved the photography and of course the model, but you are really brave and that's what I liked about you.

Definitely, I should move to Australia. I think there's lot of people with open mind. I want to be like you!!!! Is a pitty that here in Mexico beauty is only seen as skinny.

    Regards!
P.S.: That thing I said about being like You is true!!
    Congratulations!

  4. I love this "Being human makes us real not the shape of your bodies." because it's SO true. I get frustrated when I hear "that's how real women are supposed to look" and I think, real women look like you, me, the woman next door, the girl round the corner - we are ALL women, so therefore a "real woman" is whatever body we find ourselves in as women!

You look amazing, so confident and comfortable in your own skin, so refreshing to see!

  12. You are so so stunning Teer!! I love that you represent the epitome of size 16, curvaceous & embracing it. As you say 'real women' SHOULD embody the size spectrum - nobody has the exact same shape anywhere in this world! I also love that we are the same size (I think your bazookas are a cup bigger though!!).. Rock on honey! Well done to Peter on his talent too!! Xx

  13. Very empowering and of course beautiful photos. Nice to see you from a different side, although the variety in your looks (for example the pictures in your header) is what attracted me to this blog. Really top notch stuff, both professionally and personally (in so much as your willingness to share with your readers).

  14. What gorgeous photos! You're so brave to share these. I don't think I'd ever have the courage to pose nude, let alone share the pictures with other people. You're totally right: we're all beautiful, and it's our uniqueness that makes us so lovely.

  15. These are the pictures that should be next to 'woman' in the dictionary.

  18. What you said is most important: every woman in real, every woman is beautiful.
I wish more bloggers had the guts to do this instead of just posting empty blogs about clothing and the usual pro-ana messages.

  19. AWESOME pics!!

With all due respect, I've noticed your complaints about the "real woman" concept. I happen to work in graphics, with retouching tools like Photoshop- and to me the word "real" is a statement against the fake idea of perfection that is being sold every day by advertising and the media. They set a beauty standard (skinny, tall, young, perfect curves, always happy, no wrinkles, no fat, etc) that is neither real nor universal. For years they've tried to teach us that thin and/or skinny girls are MUCH more attractive and anyone who isn't thin is fat. There isn't an average point. "You are either thin (beautiful, sexy, attractive) or fat (obese, ugly, lazy)". Sure we should get rid of these silly conventions, but we can start by not using digital morphing to shape the body of a woman, and by accepting that beauty comes in all shapes. (In fact beauty standards are a mixture of genetics and culture).

    A big kiss 2 U, Teer.

  20. I agree that every woman is a "real" woman, no matter what shape, size, race, whatever. It's always bothered me that in the fight for body acceptance people often jump to one end of the spectrum or the other. "This body type is real because it's larger" is no better than "this body type is acceptable because it's thinner." But still, seeing that someone my size is just as beautiful as any stick thin supermodel certainly helps my perception of my own beauty. So thank you Teer <3

  23. You are so beautiful!
You have helped me to feel like I don't need to constantly diet and stress to lose those last 5 pounds to be a beautiful, sexy woman.
I wonder if you realize how much you empower and support other women, just by being your gorgeous self.

Over the years I struggled with killing myself to be way too skinny (at the time I thought it was cute) and being heavier than I am now as well.
It took a long time for me to realize EVERY woman, no matter how thin or curvy or tall or short or tattooed or pristine skinned is BEAUTIFUL.

You are perfect and I hope you keep up your blog.
    XOXO

  24. Such beautiful photos, you are an inspiration!

I am sick of the "real woman" debate as well. All women are real women. Girls need stop throwing shades at each other and respect and love each others bodies no matter what shape or size.

  25. Gorgeous! you should be super proud! you look stunning and even being a model, it's a very brave things to do - no matter what size.

I'm also sick of the "real women" talk. Just because some women are thin does this mean they don't exist? That they are not real? it's just silly.

    p.s LOVE the bow tatt!
