Tiki Time!

New styles and prints have arrived at Hell Bunny and I'm loving them! As soon as it gets warmer here I start sneaking more and more colour into my wardrobe. Right now I'm mad about florals, Hawaiian print and anything bold!

I wanted to feature a few new items from the Autumn/Winter 2011/12 range and show you what are my stand out favorites right now.

If you want to know a local store or another online store that ships to your area contact Hell Bunny via the facebook fan page as they will be able to tell you of your nearest stockist for all items.

My stand out favorite of all my Hell Bunny dresses this little Hawaiian frock is adorable! I love the print, the length, colours and the bust! I'm wearing this style in the XL and it is a snug fit for me. This dress comes in sizes XS-XXL.

It sits perfectly as a swing dress should naturally but I wore the Hell Bunny black petticoat underneath to add a little more shape. This is the best length dress to wear with this range of petticoats. It peaks through a tiny bit at the bottom which just makes it even cuter! The belt is my own.

For those girls like me who are not totally confident with their arms they have also created this adorable black lace shrug that matches most of their dresses. With this dress I've worn it tied up loosely.

Please note that this is a halter neck dress but I whipped out the needle and thread making into a simple strap dress within 10 minutes. I can unpick this with ease if I want to make it a halter once again.

Hawaiian 50's Dress - £54.99
Lace Bolero Shrug - £17.99
Luichiny Angel Lina Wedge in Cobalt - $84.95US

Hawaiian/Floral and little pinups all over - Oh hell yes! This is the same style halter as the two I modeled in my previous Hell Bunny Post. I'm wearing this style in an XL which is very roomy and accommodating (I'll need to buy Larges from now on in this cut). This style and print with many more now come in sizes XS to 4XL!

Unlike most of the styles you will currently find this version comes with it's own fabric belt in black. I would rather a thicker fabric in my waist belts but this does the job and matches perfectly.

I'm wearing the Shrug once again but this time I've tied it at the back and folded/tucked it into the dress.

How amazing is this location? In Melbourne we have been blessed with the most fantastic venue this year.

LuWow - Lush cocktails, exquisite rums, amazing decor and groovy vintage dance tunes over a large two room space in darkest Fitzroy. Offering two sections to accommodate functions, events, private parties, dancing or just a few cocktails with friends.

The "Island Village" offers shady booths in individual huts, exotic sounds, table service and the relaxed tempo of a South Seas holiday. A traditional Polynesian bar to rival the best the world has to offer. Open for cocktails and Island Music every Wed - Sun.....5pm till Late

The "Forbidden Temple" a feast of exotica with claws! Lost in a dark steamy jungle, ablaze with precious jewels and terrible idols a ruined pagan palace beats to the sound of Bongos and lost vinyl rhapsodies. LinkOpen every Fri & Sat.

This is my new favorite place to hang out! From the drink to the dancing, the music to the staff it is really funky. The bartenders won me over instantly the moment they served me a White Long Island Ice Tea with a giant pink tentacle garnish.

You can find LuWow at 62-70 Johnston Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065. You can also book at table or ask any questions via bookings@theluwow.com or simply by calling on 03 9417 5447

I've shot 2 more outfits inside this bar so you have not see the last the amazing backdrops!

Thank you to Steve Pinirou who worked with me on these images and 2 other outfits that I will post about shortly. It was an absolute blast shooting with him in my dream location and I can't wait to work with him again. You can find his website here or his facebook page here.

  2. I have the kiki dress and I love it, though I do have a problem with it not being quite so supportive at my bust. But your suggestion of converting it from a halter to a regular strap dress is brilliant, and will solve my problem brilliantly, i think!
I too am obsessed with hawaiian/tiki style things right now, and I love your photographs. The location is amazing! My dream place to get some photos done :)
    Awesome photos, great blog post.

  4. I've been following your blog for months. I love your style. I also write a blog. It's about dressing for your body type (which you do fabulously).
I also have designed a clothing line for women of all body types. I don't want to spam you, but I did a kickstarter - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lizkzook/be-involved-in-clothing-for-women-of-every-body-ty - and it's getting very little attention. I was hoping that maybe you could help me out. I'm six days from my deadline.
