Baby it's cold outside

For my readers here southern hemisphere I thought I'd feature my favorite winter coats this week. Two items I find every woman needs to combat the winter chills are a classic blazer and a trench coat. I go crazy in the the colder months for outerwear as you might notice but they are items that will last you for many years to come and are a sound wardrobe investment.

City Chic Leather Trim Blazer - $129.00AU
Sold out online due to the last two fantastic sales but still instore

Torrid Black and Grey Leopard Tonal Mini Skirt
- $38.50US

This blazer is the warmest item in my wardrobe at the moment. The corduroy and suede fabric is very soft and cosy and the pleather trim is my favorite feature, it really gives the jacket an edgy look.

Paired with the super cute black and grey leopard mini from Torrid and some thick stockings. The skirt is a size 0 and very stretchy and I find that I can wear it both shorter or closer to knee length by simply pulling it up or down. If pulled down to the hips its almost a really cute pencil skirt, I'd love to have this in lots of different prints and colours.

I'm wearing this in a size 14 and I find it much more roomy at the waist than my other City Chic jackets, but as you can see it was nothing a waist belt did can't fix! Blazers are so east to style be it like I've shown or with a graphic tee and your favorite skinny jeans.

Nickel Skull with Multi-Color Rhinestone Ring
- $14.00US

I'm always a sucker for skulls and when I saw this pop up on Torrid it had to be mine. This has an stretch band, I'm wearing a size 7/8 and i can fit it perfectly on my middle finger. If you look at the close ups on the website you will see it has multi-coloured rhinestones within the eyes, its really a great piece of funky costume jewelery. I've worn this ring every day since it arrived!

Carmakoma Skimmer Trenchcoat
- $231.39US
Dress - H&M

I've always been in love with Trench-coats, the simple classic cuts suit so many shapes but having a large chest I've not had much luck finding the perfect fit both in waist and bust.

Carmakoma have created the best trench for a curvy and plus size figure! The Skimmer is a classic trench with all trimmings made of 100% cotton and and features a high collar, loads of buttons, and a slimming a-line shape.

I'm wearing a XS in this jacket and it is a perfect fit, I can wrap the adjustable waist belt around twice but you can also find our other ways to secure the strap via the websites product shots.

I feel amazing in this coat, there is something so stylish yet effortless about the design. Either fully buttoned or open I love mixing and matching outfits with this. For more coat options from Carmakoma click here, the have stock sizes XS to L (US 12-22)

Thank you again to Katherine Davis for her amazing work behind camera! She is a dream to work with!

P.S

For my readers in the warmer area's of the world don't feel to left out! I shall be featuring some amazingly cute retro summer dresses in the next few weeks so check back every week.

  2. Oh my goodness, that trench is AMAZING. GAH. If I had the money, that would be coming home to me! XP I am pleased, there has been a break in the weather today (touch wood!) and it means I don't have to wrap up too warm - hoping it stays for the weekend while a friend is down, he hasn't been before and I want the weather to behave, since all the indoor attractions have fallen down!

  3. Smokin' as always! I find jackets difficult as I'm broad in the shoulders but narrow in the waist, belting is a great idea!

  4. I have the same CC blazer, it's so warm - and yes, roomier than usual - great buy. That trenchcoat I LOVE!! On the 'wishlist' it goes!

  7. Harbourmaster - I've only figure it out this year! My waist does not really work with plus size clothing but my hips and bust does - quick fix when I can't afford the tailor.
