Rouged Flounce

Many moons ago I had the absolute pleasure of modeling for Lala Belle, a Sydney based plus size designer who creates amazing, flattering and perfectly tailored clothing for the plus market. 

The Flounce dress fast became my absolute favourite garment from their range and I have shot and worn that style like crazy and never thought I'd fall as hard for another style again but I was wrong! The flounce has been released in a stunning deep ruby red lace and oh my lordy this dress is perfection. 

Rouge Corded Lace Flounce Dress - $390.00 AUD

A figure flattering and lined lace wiggle with a flounce sleeve and skirt that hits just above the knee. This style can be worn both off and on the shoulder depending on how much coverage you are after. I love it both ways and love how the red lace looks on my pale skin. 

I wear the SMALL 16/18 and the fit is perfect due to the stretch lining and lace but be sure to check out the size charts for the best fit as this is not overly stretchy. The fit is a little tighter on this style apposed to my black and white polka dot as it's a different fabric but just like the my other flounce dress the lying created another layer to help works with any lumps or bumps. 

Just look at that colour!! The deep red is amazing and you can easily style this with a variety of belts, shoes, hair flowers and much, much more. I've opted for my favourite Teeze pumps from Shoe Me Gorgeous and a Torrid belt I picked up in the US. I just love how the bold black and silver pairs with the dainty lace. 

This season I'm absolutely in love with the very Bohemian/Spanish vibe Lala Belle is bringing to the market and I'm inspired to style these styles in the future!

Lala Belle

Back in 2011 I had the pleasure of flying up to Sydney and shooting a look book with Lala Belle and featured some of the items and images from the shoot in a full blog post.

From the moment I slipped into their stunning designs, a full blown lust affair was started and I've been loving every season since. But this spring season, one dress stood out above all others for me. With a flirty almost pinup shape I have found 'the' dress for my shape and I'm smitten. 

Polka-dot Resort Flounce Dress - $290

I'm positive this dress was made for my body shape! The 2 way stretch Jersey fabric hugs my curves in all the right ways and feels absolutely amazing. With a bodycon shape that is great for hourglass girls, square neckline and flared sleeves this will be my go to dress for spring and summer! 

I'm wearing the Resort Flounce Dress in a size XS and as you can see if fits like a glove. Most polka-dot fabrics can look odd if too fitted and the dots can change shape but as you can see this print is perfect all over and there are no issues with fit. 

My favourite feature has to be the flared sleeve and flounce skirt hem. No matter what size I've been, I've never liked my upper arms as they carry so much more weight than the bottom half. This dress softly floats over your upper arm, hiding any issues you may have. This is also a brilliant feature for the warmer months as you don't have clinging fabric under your arms and it's super breezy! The flounce skirt will also inspire you to twist, shake and twirl. Can't wait to wear this out dancing! 

While I usually wear a more deep v or sweetheart neckline I'm actually loving the square shape featured on this garment. The higher neckline helps emphasize my hourglass shape and draws your eye to my waistline! This dress is also lined with the a plain black 2 way stretch jersey so there is extra shaping and no see through fabrics. Please note I'm wearing a corset with this dress for extra shape and the Jersey fabric can show the steel bones/bottom of the corset at times. 

While I styled this in a more Autumn style pinup look you can slip this dress into every season and go crazy with accessories. Simply styled for spring, paired with bold colours such as red or yellow over the summer and then layered with cardigans, trench coats and more in winter. This dress is amazing and a great investment for your wardrobe.

I love the bold colour choices on crisp white cotton! Then one item I'm in super lust with full skirted lace layering dress. This dress is sexy, dark, and a little spooky - just like me! I'd style this dress with underwear as shown, bodysuits in black and even with a cute figure hugging bodycon underneath.

Lala Belle Leather Skirt

Who needs a top when you have this amazing leather skirt from Lala Belle? Me it would seem!

This is a true investment piece and an item that you will love for years to come. Made from the most delicious black leather this high waisted skirt - $380AU is stunning. If this was in my wardrobe (I wish!) I would team it up with a fitted white shirt, sheer black polka dot stockings and killer black pumps.

Carmel Wood Coat - $450AU

I want this so badly for winter, the colour is divine! This was the softest, smoothest and most fantastic wool coat I've ever had the joy of wearing. The cut of the jacket is so flattering nipping right in at the waist and my favorite feature is the leather insert across the shoulders.
