Matinee Glam

This week I'm doing something that is way out of my comfort zone - a strapless gown! Very not me, right? With a chest my size and my rather large upper arm hate I usually don't gravitate to such pieces, but the Matinee Dress had me making grabby hands as the screen.

This piece is shot hot it's sold out across the country and Lana Rose are currently taking Pre-Orders to arrive in November.

The Matinee dress is utterly perfect. Designed in collaboration with Pinup Palmer as a part of her collection this piece was inspired by 1957's Dolores Grey from Designing Women. An iconic silver screen inspired piece that hugs your curves, drapes over any problem areas an makes you feel like a goddess.

Created with a black sequin fabric that sparkles like crazy this gown. What really blows my mind about this gown is the bustline. This sculped sweetheart bodice with pleating, bolded cups and an almost horded shape on each side. This really stands out and look amazing. It's also fully lined and won't be itchy on your skin in any way.

Now I'm wearing this in a 3XL as this was the last size left and there is lots of wiggle room at the waist and hips, but the bust is perfect for my HH cups chest. For styling I needed a cover up but I did not want to be subtle in any way. So I thought to hell with it, why do we have to save sheer robes for the bedroom and lingerie? Why not pair them with equally stunning gowns?

Honestly, I love result, and I think I'm going to incorporate amazing little mini dresses beneath robes like this as evening wear!

Lastly because so many people will ask how I'm keeping the girls up and secure in this style gown I wanted to share what I'm wearing beneath.

Now this piece I've owned in black many moons ago and I loved the shape - very retro almost bullet bra point and support. The Goddess is amazing! I'm in a 18HH and the fit is rather brilliant but slightly too big. For many years I've had Curvy Kate strapless bras and I went with the bigger cup thinking that it would be the best bet but it's really roomy. On the tightest strap however, the middle does shit more flush between the breasts.

I can't wait to pair this with more strapless styles and off shoulder tops/sweater dresses and show you have amazed the fit can be from beneath! This bra also comes with detachable straps and a think band, so you are fully supported and secure.
