Midnight Meadows

I'm forever lusting after each and every release from BlackMilk clothing be it gothic, florals, Harry Potter or those day in and day out basics. With every sneaky preview or Look Book, I'm behind my laptop screen screaming GET ON MY BODY!!!

Recently I snapped up two pieces that are a little different from my go to styles but I was super keen to see how they would work on my curves.

This winter has been all about tweed, plaid and classic fabrics paired with black accessories. So obviously the Mono Squared Up dress was a must have. While I've tried lots of Blackmilk necklines the bold square shape is completely new for me. This neckline really rocks with my chest, and I think many more straight across cuts need to be added to my wardrobe.

Made from our more lightweight fleece-lined Toastie Light fabric this is the perfect go to dress if you want effortless style and lots of comfort. With a traditional skater skirt, fitted bodice, long sleeves and pockets this piece is both figure flattering and stylish.

The fleece lined fabric gives you that extra warmth during winter and the start of spring and it's so soft to the touch. I opted for the Longline length as I find some of the standard shorter skaters are a bit too tiny on my body.

I cant wait to style this with bold chunky belts or even a harness. The print looks amazing when paired with black accessories so my styling possibilities are endless. I'm wearing this style in an XL, and it's form fitting with just the right amount of stretch.

Sheer black printed flowing fabric, soft layers and a super sweet gathered at the bust and sleeve - now that's perfection in my books. With almost an old world feel the Midnight Meadows dress is perfection for anyone super busty like myself.

This piece features a delicate sheer black fabric covered in black flocked stars, lined skirt and front of the bodice and a sheer back panel. The gathered bust and adorable sleeves mold to your shape and really compliment the curves of your bust and waist. Almost like a peasant style blouse which is one of my go to shapes, this dress can be worn on or off the shoulder.

The short skirt lining makes the print POP on your legs, arms and back. Plus this sheerness is great to style with tights (black or bold colours), long boots or a simple ballet flat. I've opted to show the most skin and paired this with a black heel but you can create lots of looks and pair other bright colours under the sheer flocked fabric.

While I'm not a fan of sheer or open back garments I do love how stunning this dress is so I've worn a higher back bodysuit with this piece so my bra is hidden. You can also pop on a slip beneath this piece if you want a little more back coverage.

I'm wearing this style in an XL, and I've actually found it to be super stretchy. That much I think I could have easily sized down to size Large as the bodice works with your shape and stretches nearly a size large. The same applies to the sweet little ruffled sleeve as they can accommodate any sized upper arm.

These two amazing pieces are going to be on high rotation as the weather warms up and I'm going to be living my summer goth dreams out in the Midnight Meadow dress on those super hot evenings.
