City Chic - Lingerie Review

The first moment I saw the stunning selection of Lingerie released by City Chic I made grabby hands at my computer screen. The shapes, colours and fabrics had my heart thumping and I knew I needed to slip into these amazing pieces and show the world how much they rock!

As luck would have it my fabulous friend, fellow blogger and amazing photographer www.danimezza.com was in town recently so we teamed up to showcase the fit and look of the new range. We have always wanted to shoot together and we had an absolute ball!

So we created a little editorial, the back drop: the fantastic hotel she was staying at for the weekend. All images by Danielle Melnyczenko from www.danimezza.com and as you can see they are not airbrushed. This is the real me.

Now down to the nitty gritty of fit.

Now, I'd never purchased any underwear items, bra's or shapewear from CC before so I stuck with the sizes I though would work and I'm over the moon with the fit! I can be a variety of sizes when it comes to bras and briefs ranging from a 14DD or E to a 16DD to an E but in City Chic's lingerie line I'm a 16DD and a 14 on the bottom.

This whole set together can only be described as VaVa Voom! The high waist knickers and waist cincher and the balconette bra create the most flattering shape I think I've worn in years!

This set will make you feel like an absolute knockout. The corset has garters that you can attach to thigh high stockings but I've taken them off for this shoot.

The cup is perfect and leaves nothing out or to the side. The straps are thick but not too thick which is perfect for most of the strappy dresses in my wardrobe. It pushes the girls up and out and that is the number one thing I look for in a great bra!

I'm wearing this on the tightest hooks and it comfortable and roomy around the back.

The high waist knickers are fantastic! They suck you in and go right up to the underbust creating that a very sexy curve which is them amplified with the cincher worn over the top!

I just had to sneak a few extra images in this post as it was really hard to choose from all the brilliant shots Dani took!

A more relaxed fit bra in a fuller classic shape covering most of the breast with a little hint of cleavage. This is the kind of bra I'd wear with higher cut tops and more relaxed garments. At first I thought it was a little to small but with a proper adjustment of the straps it became perfect. This is comfortable enough to wear every day and the lace and dots make it far too cute.

In all honesty these bras, all 3 are a perfect fit and this is hard to come by when trying a new brand or style.

The matching high waist brief are perfect to wear also if the classic form of shapewear is a little too much for you. They hit above the belly button and flatten the tummy. Perfect for wearing with lower rise jeans or high waist skirts.

Just a peak of the Coco showing in this shot but a close up of the pleather detail on the City Chic Trench Coat. This style sadly is not longer in stock but if you find it at an outlet (this was from the Docklands store) snap it up! The shape this coat gives you is perfect!

Paris Contour Bra - $69.95AU
Paris Boyleg brief - $39.95AU
Sequin Jacket - Photographers Own

Bright, playful and too cute for words! A very similar fit to he Fifi and the fabric is so soft and smooth to the touch. Whenever I wear this and the Fifi I swear I check myself out a whole lot more they both make the most amazing shape bust and I love the effect!

The boyleg briefs are just as soft and smooth though I'm not sure exactly where they should sit on my hips. For me they can either sit right on my hips or be pulled up to the waist. They don't have the slimming effect of the other two briefs as they are more of a relaxed style. I think they look great on the behind as well.

I've fallen in love with Danimezza's jacket and lipstick if you can't tell by these shots. Maybe there is room for sequins and pink in my future?

Costume Crazy!!!

My favorite spooky time of year, when all things creepy, horror themed and zombie like infect our stores!

It's nearly HALLOWEEN!!

We don't really celebrate this holiday downunder but it does not stop the true lovers of the macabre getting dressed up and having a monster mash in October.

I'll be focusing a lot this month of the creepy, the spooky and the kooky items of fashion I love and for my first installment a brilliant costume shop I've found on ebay!

Devilish Disguise Costumes

I found Devilish Disguise Costumes while looking for a suitable pirate costumes for an event I had coming up. I was going to a party on Talk Like a Pirate Day and thought what better way to dress than as a pirate wench.

When I found their store I was instantly blown away with the selection. I searched the pirate section and came across one number that won my heart.

Sexy Womens Medieval Pirate Adult Halloween Costume - $63.49

I order this in a size XL (16/18AU) and it is a perfect fit. Sadly I did not get to attend the party but I'll be wearing this over the Halloween weekend as I have 3 events to attend.

The fit :

The measurements listed on the size chart are spot on with a little stretch and room to give. The skirt is very short but longer in the back so you don't show anything. Please note that the white underskirt is not included nor is the sword but can be purchased from the store. The hat though very suited is fabric and I like my hats more sturdy so I will be purchasing another when I wear this.

I can't wait to wear this and add my own touches, maybe another sheer shirt underneath and a waist corset to cinch in the style a little more (you can wear a waspie and then wear the buckle belt over the top!)

I think I need to pick up these boots to match.

I've looked around the entire store and here are my absolute favorites for all the halloween/fancy dress parties coming up. You will find theat the listings show a variety of sizes but you can also click on the plus size section that has items listed from size XL to 26.

New Adult Halloween Queen of Hearts Deluxe Ball Gown Costume - $186.99AU

If you have a really big function on why not spend a little more and blow everyone away? I've always loved the Queen of Hearts and this is my ultimate costumes.

Sexy Army Pin Up Girl Costume - $63.49AU
Currently available in sizes : 12-18

Military Pinup Perfection!

Now most costumes come with everything you need but you can find Accessories, Mens Costumes, kids costumes, masks, wigs and footwear while you shot here too! It's pretty much a one stop shop for all your costumes needs.

Shipping is also really cheap and so very fast, I got my costume in 3 days shipped via fedex!

So have a look at Devilish Disguise and be sure to tell me what you love, what you want and what you purchase for Halloween.

Hot Damn!

I just wanted to share some images I shot while in Brisbane back in August. I went up for an annual rockabilly festival called Greazefest and got to spend 5 days with the absolutely amazing Micheline Pitt! `

I went up to sunny Brisbane to attend the festival and help out/see the sights with the lovely Micheline. While there I got to hang out with the magnificent Fanny Barlow of Dropdead, gorgeous...couture to die for and India Rose!

We worked at the festival for 3 days, did sight seeing, hung out and ate far too much junk food - I now have a huge addiction to Nacho Cheese Doritos due to this trip.

So before I left I planned to meet up with this brilliant Brisbane based photographer I've known online for a while now - Big Fry Photography. To put it simply this man rocks my socks off! A horror fiend, nerdy fella who knows way too much about beer and is an absolute joy to hang with. After drooling over his work for a really long time I suggested we set something up while I was in town and these are the results.

We shot solo, together and then I did a Beer Shower - yes you'll have to see it to believe it!

So solo :

And one with Micheline too - so cute!

Micheline and I with our girl Fanny Barlow! She made that brilliant bling bone Micheline is wearing. We are also all wearing some form of Deadly Dames Clothing! I'm wearing the Vamp Dress in polka dot, Fanny wears the same dress in Tiger print as a top and Micheline the Vamp Top and Tiger Cigarette Pants.

Then finally my favorite image from that day, Micheline and I at the end of the festival celebrating with ice-cream - yes we really are that hardcore!

Now its time to start saving to get over to the US and visit her!
