Switchblade Dame

LinkImage Hosted by ImageShack.us

I have a new addiction - the webstore at Switchblade Stiletto! Great shapes, prints, retro inspired styles and a brilliant fit! From dresses, cardigans, perfect pencil skirts, tees and cute little tops this store has everything! The designs and prints have a very rockabilly even pyschobilly feel with leopard, polka dot, stripe and bows.

Sassy Senorita Lace Cardigan - $48US
Leopard High Waisted Skirt - $48US

Leopard print and a pencil skirt yes please! I now have way too much leopard print in my wardrobe but I don't care, I love the print! This skirt is amazing. Not only is it a perfect high waist fit but the belt comes off (and is super stretchy) so you can mix and match any other belt. The fabric is very stretchy and so soft to the touch.

I'm wearing all items shown in an XL and for my shape/measurements it is a perfect fit. The first time I wore this skirt I did warp the shape a tiny bit. I was laying down getting a tattoo for a few hours so it stretched oddly but this was fixed by simply washing it.

I then paired this yummy skirt up with the very cute and versatile Sassy Senorita Lace Cardigan. You can wear this knit tucked or untucked with skirts, jeans and much more. I love having a simple yet really cute cardigan in my collection. Something you can pair up with anything and perfect for the nights out this spring.

Because I loved the fit of this skirt so much I bought two more after this one arrived. One in black with the studded belt and then the red and black stripe. They are just as amazing and have become my wardrobe staples. Though I can't seem to find them online anymore, I must have scooped them up just before they sold out.

Sassy Senorita Annabella Dress
- $56.00US

How Vava-Voom is this dress? Now when I saw this via the web store I was not aware of the vibrancy of the fabric underneath the lace. I originally thought it was more of a beige but its actually a bright yellow/green. I originally thought this colour might not work with my skin tone and hair but it's perfect for a redhead.

This dress is beyond sassy it molds to your figure and shows off your curves. Though this is an XL I actually think I could have gotten away with a size L as there is a lot of stretch in the fabric

As always I've added my favorite waist belt to break up the fabric and add more definition. I now have at least 4 of these belts and around a dozen other styles, colours etc. They are my go to accessory and can change the look and fit of so many outfits.

If you don't feel like showing as much arm pair the Senorita Dress with the matching cardigan. Either unbuttoned as shown in the image above or buttoned up with the waist belt over the top showing a pop of colour at the bottom.

Heartbreaker

'Teresa and Amanda Becker are a mother daughter team that found their niche in the vintage inspired fashion market, through what was initially a home based business in 2005. They call it Heartbreaker Fashion and it is making its own history...'

In the world of pinup fashion there are so many choices but when it comes down to it I only really love a handful of companies. For me to want to slip into their garments I want quality fabrics, craftsmanship and brilliant designs. Heartbreaker Fashion ticks all these boxes. Now that I've worn their garments I can honestly say I'm a fan!

Now to show off my two favorite outfits from their website. All images featured in this post were taken by Michelle Grace Hunder Photography

Marilyn Tee (Stripey) - $38.00US
Vogue Pencil Skirt (Charcoal) - $62.00US

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This is a very classic pencil skirt, made from stretch cotton it hugs you in all the right places. I love the matching waist belt in the same fabric, the longer length and the front split. Though form fitting this skirt is really comfy and flattering as it nips in at the waist. I picked grey as I've not got anything in this shade in my wardrobe and its really versatile. I love wearing this with bright red at the moment.

Then the simple yet sexy Marilyn Tee in black and white stripe. I live in this! It matches all my skirts, jeans and shorts. I will have to get a few more colours as it is a perfect top. The cotton fabric is really stretchy and you can either it down over your solders or a little higher like I'm showing here. I'd love to pair this with the Betty Bolero (click link) on their website as well, the red with the stripes would look brilliant!

The next item I had to have is the Super Spy Dress in Navy. When I first saw this I instantly thought Mad Men and when I put it on I felt just as amazing as Christina Hendricks! This super stretchy cotton knit really gives you a vava-voom shape! I think I could have even gone down one more size for a tighter fit.

This is the highest neckline I've ever worn but I really like it. With this neckline you could easily wear this dress to the office with tights and pump or boots in the winter.

I'm in love with this dress if it was colder in Australia right now I would purchase every single colour and wear them all week! I'm wearing my own waist belt but with this colour you can match it with navy, red, yellow, orange - the list is endless and with colour blocking this could be the base of a really funky outfit. This also comes in a variety of other colours.

I'm wearing all garments in a size XL and their sizes range from a XS to 2XL. Check the size chart bellow for your measurements.

So Heartbreaker you have won me over! My wishlist is huge right now and will surely keep on growing.

I would like to that the brilliant Michelle Grace Hunder for shooting these images with me. It's always an absolute pleasure to work with her so be sure to check out more of her work via her website.

Tripped Out

Leather Panels, Skulls, Fangs, Bright red lips and pumps? Don't mind if I do!

Well we all know very well by now that I have a small obsession with skulls so when I found this Tripp top I snatched it up asap. I'm wearing this in a size 0 (12) and it is a really floaty and light fit. The waist seems to be very roomy so I added my token accessory - my PUG belt to cinch in my middle. I'm loving the low neckline, the super cute print and the ruffled sleeves, it's very girly but rock chick at the same time which most days sums me up perfectly!

I own 3 pairs of Tripp Jeans already and living in them! They are comfy, soft and a really perfect fit. But none of my existing jeans have these funky pleather panels so I had to grab these to add to my collection.

I'm trying to hunt down a pair of Pleather/leather pants currently so these are a gradual way of easing myself into the style.

They fit a little differently from my standard size 12 in the trip range. They are not as form fitting around the lower leg and ankle as the other Tripp skinny jeans. But otherwise they are a perfect fit.

These Red Patent Heel are stunning, so bright and go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. There is one issue though and this is the first and last time I will be wearing them.

As with most plus size stores you will find a majority sell wide width shoes. Torrid sometimes mixes in different width sizes, check T.U.K. via their shoe section for standard width. But with the wide width styles unless you wide foot you won't fit into your normal size in any of the shoes.

I was sent 3 pairs of wide width shoes - these, the same pair in leopard print and a pair of Iron Fist Pumps in the wide style. All in a size 10 but as soon as I saw them i new medium to narrow foot would not stand a chance inside.

The fit on such shoes is really loose and being heels I can't walk without having to be very careful, trying not to slip or have my heel slide up.

My advice? If you do not have a wide foot order a size down in and of these styles on Torrid. They are made 'big' so its your safest bet.

I'm loving my Rock Rebel Diamond Fang Necklace. It matches the outfit perfectly and fits into my current obsession with True Blood. Click the link to see a full colour product shot.

Ruffles & Lace

When i saw this dress on Torrid I think i literally made grabby hands at the screen. I've been looking for a black/nude lace dress for a while now and as soon as I saw this frock I knew it had to be mine.

The features I love : The fabric, Adjustable straps, black skinny waist belt, sweetheart neckline and the black splice details (not shown here but view the video via the link bellow).

This is a really feminine, detailed, sweet yet sexy little black dress. I am wearing a size 12 (sold out online) in this dress it will also accommodate a size up as it has a lot of stretch and with the adjustable bra straps it can accommodate different sizes busts also.

Black and Nude Lace Splice Dress with Belt - $74.50US
Black Ruffle Shrug - $38.50US

While its still chilly and spring has only just started I've paired this up with my new found best friend the Black Ruffle Shrug. It's so soft, and falls beautifully with the ruffle neckline and sleeves. I'm wearing this in a size 0 and it its spot on for size with a good amount of stretch.

I've been wearing this shrug with jeans, tee's, other dresses and i think I will wear it down to threads by the end of spring!

T.U.K. Spike Bow Heels - $50.00US

Now for the shoes! Sticking with all black theme but adding a little Rock'n'Roll I'm wearing the T.U.K. Spike Bow Heels which are in a medium width. Not many styles are in this width on torrid and I will follow up on the shoe sizes in my next torrid post.

These are perfect! From the heel height to the tiny studded detail I'm absolutely in love with them! I wear a size 10 AU/US and these feel like they were made for my foot.

Thank you to my always super fantastic blog photographer Michael Alesich from Lucky & Rice.

Spring has Sprung!

A week into Spring already and we have had the most lovely sunny days. With weather like this i start looking through my wardrobe again wishing i had more spring/summer items to wear.

So what do I do? I start window-web shopping of course!

This is what I'm currently lusting over.

ASOS Midi Dress in Embroidered Lurex
- $132.98AU

Floaty fabric, stunning colours and a really stunning print. I'd wear this anywhere and everywhere. Be sure to check out the runway clip via the product link to see just how beautiful this garment is when you move.

New Look 40s Collar Dress - £29.99

There is only a UK size 16 left in this style sadly but I had to share it with you guys. Simple yet absolutely stunning.

ASOS Extended Cape Sleeve Top - $62.06AU

I love the look of this with pants but I'd love to see this with a black pencil skirt and a little cami underneath. Wearing this more as a floaty and light cape or summer weight jacket.

Speaking of pencil skirts this spotted/sheer fabric has won me over. Its in my cart waiting for pay day!

City Chic Tuille Beaded Dress - $199.95AU

I feel in love with this on the catwalk back in March and I'm still amazed by the styling. I will try to get in store to try this on over the weekend. Ideally I'd love to wear this with my leather jacket mixing the soft feminine fabric with the rough/rock feel of the leather jacket.

City Chic High Waisted Shorts - $69.95AU

They are back! I've been waiting on these for so long. I own a pair of these in black that I featured at the start of the year and I've wanted the blue ones for so long. The black will also be making a come back shortly. I will have to pick up another pair and any other styles City Chic have out over the summer as I'm a short's addict!

Wheels & Dollbaby Signature Print Cardi - $190AU

Pretty in pink and goes up to a size 5 (16)!!! I love how danty and sweet the colour/print combination is. I'd wear this with my LBD, shorts, jeans and pencil skirts!

ZU Corvina Wedge - $180AU

Lastly this pastel and wood super high wedge. I've formed a shoe crush on this pair of beautiful shoes from Zu. They remind me of ice-cream or gelato with the sweet blue, yellow and peach tones.

So what do you have your heart set on this season?

I'm still here!

So sorry I've not been posting very often!

The start of August was so busy and I'm just catching up on all my posts, planning shoots and getting life sorted.

I had two blog shoots set up for this weekend but sadly everyone has fallen ill so I'll be pushing them back a week.

But as of next weekend I promise you two outfit posts to make up for my lack of attention.

I'll post my spring inspiration soon, I've really become obsessed with finding stunning floral and dainty dresses and working in my winter items in with the outfits while it's still a bit chilly down here.

So don't fear I'll be back in action within the week! Or else I'll be convincing my 10 year old brother to be my blog photographer.
