Kiargo - Swimswear for Curves!

Swimsuits in Winter? Has she gone crazy?

No not at all I'd honestly rather go swimming indoors in the winter that spend my days on the beach during the summer. My pale Irish skin hates the sunlight as you will see my skin is very, very fair! This is how my body and my legs look all year round, the only editing on these images is colour related my skin has not been 'touched up' in any way.

So I wanted to feature a local Australian brand who I've discovered this year so you guys can start planning your summer swimmers in advance. To my northern hemisphere readers I'm so very jealous of your weather right now so I hope these images give you some inspiration to hit the beach in style!

I would like to introduce you to Kiargo An Australian label established in 2006 by designer Jessica Holmes.

Inspired by retro and vintage styling they offer tailored shapes with great covereage and hidden structure that enhances assests and controls problem areas.

The ranges offer mix and match styles in seperates, stunning one peice suits and cover ups. You can get all styles in sizes 8-18, cup A to E, yes up to an E cup!

I've tried, shot and worn the following styles and I am in love! The designs, fit and styles blew my mind! I am wearing a size 16 in all garments. All of these styles come with underwire and 2 of the styles have removable padding/inserts.

I saw this at the start of summer in black and white and instantly swooned over the bust and pipping but now that I have it in this bright print I'm loving it so much more. This sucks in my tummy so much its magic! The bust and cups (with padding) really push up your bust and create an amazing shape! The straps on al these garments are adjustable so you can get the perfect fit and lift and control your cleavage.

Blaze Belconette Bra Top (I can't find this online sorry)

Suitable for cup sizes DD to E this is so comfortable and supportive, almost as great as my favorite bra! The bright funky print is something I would usually not be drawn to but the more I see look the more fond I become. I think it really goes well with my hair colour.

Nancey Ruched Brief (contact the designer for more details)

Skirted bottom with a high waist you can wear this at your belly button or move it lower on your hips. These are really comfortable bottoms but don't have as much tummy flattening power as the suit above.

The belt is just an accessory I've added to finish of the suit, Though it would not work in the water. Adding a canvas style belt or another fabric to would work much better.

Paloma One Piece $167.95

This is my favorite out of all 3 suits! I'm a sucker for black and I always will be. The cross over bust, simple design and fit ticks all boxes in my Swimsuit want list. Its slimming and supportive, sturdy and thick. As you can see this suit also flattens the tummy also! It is suitable for C to E cups and is suitable for women that have had Mastectomy's but this style also works for me with the removable padding.

I also wanted to add my own 'style' to the suits (the belt to the 2 piece) and to the black one piece as shown above a simple hat and kaftan. The hat was purchased last year at Target but you can find them on ebay very cheaply. The Leopard Print Kaftan is now down to $10 from Supre.

If you are looking for a new swimsuit I suggest you invest in a suit from Kiargo they will last you through many seasons and hug you in all the right places. To purchase these amazing swimsuits please click on the website link and look for your local stockist. You can also purchase Kiargo from :

True Vamp

Ok fine I will stand up and admit that I'm a huge True Blood fan. Its gritty, dirty, dark and far too funny what's not to love?

I have a huge crush on Erik and out of all the strong female characters I love Pam the most. She never holds back, has a razor sharp tongue and the most amazing wardrobe.

So while watching season 4, episode 2 I got so excited when saw the always impeccably dressed Pam wearing a jacket that looks exactly like the Spliced Vinyl Crop Jacket from City Chic. I knew more than ever it had to be mine!

So inspired by this fashion forward vamp I was inspired to do a little shoot of my own to do this brilliant garment justice.

Spliced Vinyl Crop Jacket - $139.95AU

I'm wearing this jacket in a size XS and I find it to be comfortable, easy to layer and very roomy under the bust. Although I'm wearing this with black and grey I think wearing any bright colour or even white underneath will make the splice pattern pop even more!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

To vamp up this jacket even more so I've worn it with a black leather underbust (can't remember where I got it from sorry) and my grey Torrid pencil skirt featured in this post.

Please note in some of the shots I've posed to cinch in the bottom of the jacket to make more of an hour glass effect. The jacket itself is not a tight fit at the bottom.

Notice the drool worthy cuff on my wrist? I've mentioned GMK in a previous post but now I own one of their completely unique hand made accessories I can honestly say they make the most accessories on the planet!

This piece priced at $280AU is pretty much my in cuff form. From the skull, spikes and studs to the deep red colour, glitter and hand painted zebra strips it is so very perfect!

There are so many different styles available on GMK's webstore with more Bow Cuffs, Leather Belts, Leather Bracelet Cuffs, Leather Chain Gloves, Leather Key Rings and Belt Buckles.

When you buy anything from GMK you can have faith that all your items are unique, hand made and proudly made in Australia!

Thank you so very much to the super amazing Giuseppe Dante Sapienza Photography, word can't express just how amazingly multi talented this man is! It was an absolute pleasure to work with him again and you will see more of his work in two upcoming posts. Check out his website link above or his fan page via facebook.

Hell Bunny Feature

A little while ago I featured an amazing yellow jacket from Hell Bunny in my Moto Madness post and I wanted to share some other styles they offer.

The designs and patterns from Hell Bunny are perfect for any subcultural girl. Ranging from 50's skirted pinup frocks in a variety of patterns, more gothic inspired pieces and punk inspired dresses, skirt, corsets and more.

Recently the fantastic Tharaka Pathirage and I visited the Eurotrash Bar and showed off these adorable new frocks from SS11 range at Hell Bunny. Be sure to heck out their Facebook page for all new updates, info and stockist information

I am wearing an XL in all 3 of these designs.

Hell Bunny have just updated me with some brilliant news they will be adding 2XL-4XL which should begin to get into the shops late august/early september!

Fatal Dress - £74.99

Femme Fatal/Gothic Prom dress! Its been years since I've worn fishnet on my torso but I think this actually works! From the adorable black ribbon layers of floaty fabric to the cinched in waist and bow (can be worn however you like - back, front or side) this is one very sweet and girly yet dark dress. The bodice does have some shaping inside and the cups are molded like a bra with adjustable straps. I'm wearing a strapless bra beneath though just for the extra support. This is pretty much a perfect fit for my measurements.

Gina 50's Dress - £37.95

Close up of the fabric - The Dia de Los Muertos Gypsy design is so beautiful, I want to cover every thing I own in this fabric!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

A classic 50's shape this design is a full blown swing dress, the kind that made me want to twirl till I get dizzy! I'm wearing size XL in this style but it is slightly roomy and can accommodate a large bust if need be due to the halter neck which ties in a bow at the nape of your neck. I would be tempted to try a size L in this style for tighter fit as it is loose on my waist.

The belt does not come with this dress.

Charlie 50's Dress - £34.50

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Leopard, roses and black accents - yes please! The same style as the Gina Dress above this is my stand out favorite! I never expected that mixing leopard and roses or any other floral in a print would work but it really does.

The black waist band and bust accents break up the bold print and really make this dress look beautiful on. As you can see if you look under my bust it is roomy so in the future I will size down in this style.

So thank you to Tharaka Pathirage and Eurotrash Bar for helping me with this post! Check out their websites and find them on Facebook asap! You won't regret it!

Western Bow Baby

For the last month I have been looking everywhere for a western/colonel tie. A simple accessory that I've been wanting to slip into a few looks but I did not want to settle for a crappy clip on from a costume shop.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Luckily when I was doing my weekly online window shop at ASOS I found exactly whats I was after!

Not a fan of white shirts well don't you worry ASOS have 3 more colours/designs for you to mix and match up with any colour shirt.

Check Tartan Fabric Bow Brooch - $3.43AU

Thank you to the brilliant Tharaka for working with me on these images and another set (coming soon). Please check out his work and if you are local hire him for some amazing shots!

These two shots and another set to be featured very soon were shot at Eurotrash & Berlin Bar in the Melbourne CBD. I also used this location when I featured the Wheels & Dollbaby Cardigan earlier this year (read more here). If you are local get down there whenever you can for some amazing cocktails, funky tunes and brilliant decor!

What She Wore - Winter Rose

Just a small sneaky outfit post before I head back out for the evening.

I just got home from a wedding in the Dandenong Mountains and managed to snap a shot of my outfit.

I wanted to wear my fantastic Pinup Girl Clothing summer dress but being that its so cold down I worked it into a little more weather appropriate outfit.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I paired these two brilliant pieces up with my favorite black beret and two pairs (yes two) 70 denier black stockings and City Chic black pumps. Sorry for the lack of full length shot it was raining so much when we took this I did not manage to get a clear full outfit picture. But if you click the link to the PUG dress you will find me in a full length shot via the product page.

I really adore this outfit, when the weather warms up I will replace the thick black stockings with nude back seamed thigh highs.

New from Bella Bodies

I'm sure by now you have realized I have an addiction to the amazing items created by Bella Bodies. I can't get enough of the amazing shapewear on offer and wear most of the garments every second day!

Now with winter in full effect Bella Bodies have released a new selection of Lovely Leg Opaque Tights with an innovative designed to help slim your tummy, thighs and legs! Much like the Sheerly There Boxer these will flatten your tummy, hold everything in and lift and firm your behind! Available in Black, Mocha or Grey through sizes S-XV and priced at $49.95. You can find these at www.debras.com.au or through the TV Shopping Network here ITVSN.

These are exactly what I have been searching for but have never had luck finding over the colder months. I'm currently testing out both a black and steal grey pair and they are brilliant! I wear a size V in most of the products and these really do make my tummy disappear and best of all they stay up on my waist all day! They are soft and silky yet strong and even with my long nails I've not snagged them once!

If you are looking for even more shaping I recommend you wear the New Body Definer $52.40 over the top of your tights. I swear by the Body Definer and together its a great surface to layer all your winter outfits on. I wear the definer in a V also.

For more stockists, information and to view the whole collection please go to the Bella Bodies website.
